Jadarian Price Getting More Reps With Starters

Seattle Seahawks first-round pick Jadarian Price continues to be the second running back to take reps with the starting unit, as he was in voluntary practice sessions, still sliding in behind third-year back George Holani. However, for the first time this spring, he was seen handling entire drives with the first-team offense. Unexpectedly, 2023 second-round pick Zach Charbonnet was spotted doing low-impact drills with trainers on Tuesday, marking the first time he's been seen on the field since his season-ending ACL tear in a Divisional Round win over the 49ers and signaling that he could be closer to a return than initially speculated. With Charbonnet on the final year of his rookie contract, the belief is that Seattle's lead back responsibilities will eventually be turned over to Price, but with Charbonnet potentially back in the fold earlier than anticipated, and the rookie still needing to earn his way to the top, the backfield situation in Seattle has the potential to become a frustrating one for fantasy in 2026.

Is Jadarian Price Still Undervalued in Dynasty Formats?

After averaging six yards per carry across his three seasons at the University of Notre Dame, running back Jadarian Price was selected 32nd overall in the 2026 NFL Draft by the Seattle Seahawks. With Seahawks RB1 Zach Charbonnet (knee) recovering from a torn ACL that he suffered in mid-January, Price could be in a position to immediately assume the RB1 role in Seattle. It's worth noting that Price did not play a workhorse role in college thanks to the presence of former Notre Dame and current Arizona Cardinals running back Jeremiyah Love. The Seahawks also signed veteran back Emanuel Wilson, who profiles as a capable stop-gap option in the backfield. Still, Price is by far the highest upside running back in Seattle, and he projects to be the team's running back of the future with Charbonnet entering the final year of his current contract in 2026. Price's dynasty value has skyrocketed since the NFL Draft, but he still may be worth investing in ahead of his potential rookie-year emergence.

Jadarian Price Looks Like the Running Back of the Future in Seattle

After recording 20 touchdowns on just 243 touches over his final two collegiate seasons at Notre Dame, running back Jadarian Price was selected in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft by the Seattle Seahawks. Seattle had one of the better running back tandems in the league in 2025 in Kenneth Walker III and Zach Charbonnet (knee). However, Walker III signed with the Kansas City Chiefs in March, and Charbonnet underwent surgery to repair a torn ACL in late February. As a result, Price could be in a position to lead the Seattle backfield right away in 2026. The Seahawks will eventually get Charbonnet back, and they also signed former Packers back Emanuel Wilson in free agency to take some of the pressure off of Price. Still, the 22-year-old clearly profiles as the running back of the future in Seattle. RotoBaller currently ranks Price as its 21st-best dynasty running back entering 2026.

Jadarian Price Not Expected to Lead Seahawks' Backfield Right Away

The Seattle Seahawks made a major addition to their backfield on draft night, selecting University of Notre Dame running back Jadarian Price with the final pick of the first round. Given that Seattle lost star running back Kenneth Walker III in free agency to the Kansas City Chiefs, Price should eventually have a chance to take over as the Seahawks' RB1. However, ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reports that the sense around the Seahawks is that Price "won't have to be a bell cow right away." Seattle running back Zach Charbonnet (knee) suffered a torn ACL in January, but should be able to make an impact once healthy. The Seahawks also signed former Green Bay Packers running back Emanuel Wilson in free agency. While Price is unquestionably the highest-upside running back in Seattle, it appears as though the team may look to bring him along slowly in his rookie season.

Seahawks Draft Jadarian Price at No. 32 Overall

The Seattle Seahawks have selected Notre Dame running back prospect Jadarian Price with the 32nd and final pick in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft. The opening night of the draft concludes with two running backs off the board, and both of them were from Notre Dame. Together, Price and new Cardinals running back Jeremiyah Love made history, marking the first time in the common draft era that the first two running backs selected were from the same school. As the 1B option behind Love, Price racked up 761 scrimmage yards and 13 offensive touchdowns (plus two special teams touchdowns) last year. He's the early favorite to open the 2026 season as the Seahawks' primary running back after they lost Kenneth Walker III to the Chiefs in free agency. Since Zach Charbonnet (knee) is still working his way back from an ACL tear, Price's main competition in this backfield is free agent signing Emanuel Wilson. The Notre Dame product ranks as the RB26 in RotoBaller's latest dynasty fantasy football rankings, and he has even higher upside given his prominent role in a successful, Super Bowl-winning offense.

Jadarian Price a Potential First-Rounder in Rookie Drafts

Notre Dame running back Jadarian Price isn't even the top ball-carrier from his own school, yet he has the potential to be a first-round pick in fantasy football rookie drafts this offseason. Notre Dame is responsible for the top two running backs in RotoBaller's rookie rankings, with Jeremiyah Love at #1 overall and Price at #10 overall (including #2 among running backs). It's surprising to see so much praise for two players from the same program, but it's also justified. Price had 674 rushing yards and 13 total touchdowns in 2025, and he finishes his collegiate career with a whopping average of 6.0 yards per carry. That level of production will put him in the mix to be a starter at some point during his rookie season, if not Week 1. The landing spot will paint a clearer picture of Price's fantasy outlook, but for now, his RotoBaller ranking indicates that he could be an impactful fantasy option right away.

Relatively Unproven Jadarian Price Could Shine in a Featured Role

Notre Dame running back Jadarian Price is squarely in the conversation to be the second running back selected in the 2026 NFL Draft despite never handling more than 10 offensive touches per game in any of his three collegiate seasons. Sharing a backfield with one of the best offensive players in this year's draft class, Jeremiyah Love, Price saw his career production nearly doubled by the presumed early first-round pick, but he was still productive on his limited workload. Price averaged more than six yards per carry in his collegiate career and reached double-digit touchdowns in 2025. As one of the best kick returners in the country, he displayed excellent vision and the ability to slash through shifting lanes without gearing down, traits that should translate in a larger role out of the backfield. Price has good size and runs low and behind his pads, and with the right landing spot, he could emerge from a lackluster running back class as Love's largest threat to finish the year as the rookie RB1.

Jadarian Price's Dynasty Stock is Rising as the 2026 Draft Approaches

University of Notre Dame running back Jadarian Price is considered one of the top prospects at his position heading into the 2026 NFL Draft. Price was overshadowed during his college career by fellow Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love, who is expected to come off the 2026 draft board early in the first round. Across 12 games this past season for the Fighting Irish, Price recorded 761 scrimmage yards and 13 touchdowns on just 119 touches. Still, Price posted impressive testing numbers at the Draft Combine in March and has a chance to be the second running back selected after Love this April. It's more than likely that Price will find himself in a backfield timeshare early in his NFL career. However, depending on where he lands, Price has the physical traits to emerge as a feature back sooner rather than later. RotoBaller currently ranks Price as its 25th-best running back for dynasty formats.

Jadarian Price Showcases Strength and Speed at Combine

Notre Dame running back Jadarian Price put together an impressive performance at the Scouting Combine ahead of next month's NFL Draft. He finished with 21 reps in the bench press, which ranked fourth-most among running back prospects, and his 4.36-second 40-yard dash time ranked second. These results follow an impressive NCAA season that saw Price post 674 rushing yards, 87 receiving yards, and 13 total touchdowns. He has a nose for the end zone and averaged 6.0 yards per carry, showcasing a blend of scoring and yardage efficiency that should set him up for success in the NFL and in fantasy football. A potential second-round pick in the NFL Draft, Price ranks as the #31 running back in RotoBaller's latest fantasy football rankings for 2026.
