Trevon Diggs News
The Dallas Cowboys officially placed cornerback Trevon Diggs (knee) on the Physically Unable to Perform list on Thursday and will not be able to take part in the start of training camp. The Cowboys are expected to be cautious with Digg's return this summer. After leading the NFL with 11 interceptions in 2021 and turning in another Pro Bowl campaign in 2022, Diggs tore his ACL in a Week 3 practice last year. The 25-year-old defensive back was working off to the side with the rehab group this offseason and is expected to be activated from the PUP list before the start of the 2024 regular season. The ball-hawking Diggs will form a potent cornerback duo in Dallas with DaRon Bland when he's healthy, but he's a pretty big gamble for takeaways in IDP fantasy formats coming off a serious injury. The Alabama product has 173 combined tackles (146 solo) in his four NFL seasons. Expecting double-digit interceptions in 2024 wouldn't be wise.

Trevon Diggs Likely To Begin Camp On Active/PUP List
Dallas Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs (knee) is expected to begin training camp on the active/Physically Unable to Perform list. The 25-year-old appeared in just two games last season before suffering an ACL tear during practice ahead of the Week 3 meeting in Arizona. Fortunately, he has made progress in rehab since then. However, the team will take a cautious approach by not rushing things. Diggs has appeared in 47 games for Dallas since entering the league in 2020, totaling 173 tackles, 18 interceptions, and two touchdowns. Diggs can be removed from the list as soon as he passes a physical. But the Cowboys defense will suffer until he's ready to suit up.

Trevon Diggs Expected To Be Ready For Training Camp
The Dallas Cowboys expect cornerback Trevon Diggs (knee) to be ready for the start of training camp this summer after he tore the ACL in his left knee during a Sept. 21 practice. He had surgery at the end of October. Fellow cornerback DaRon Bland, who set an NFL record with five interceptions returned for touchdowns last year, is expecting his teammate Diggs to make a full recovery. "I mean, a lot of people are not expecting what Tre is gonna come back with," Bland said. I know what Tre is gonna come back with. It's going to be something dangerous. Can't wait." The 25-year-old former second-round pick in 2020 out of Alabama as an All-Pro in both 2021 and 2022 and racked up 14 touchdowns (two returned for touchdowns). Providing he's fully healthy this fall, he should once again be a coveted defensive back in IDP fantasy formats because of his ball-hawking abilities.

Trevon Diggs Suffers Torn ACL At Practice
Dallas Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs (knee) suffered a torn ACL during practice on Thursday, an MRI exam confirmed, according to a source. Diggs will now miss the rest of the 2023 season. The Cowboys defense/special teams unit will still be a top play for the rest of the year, but losing Diggs is huge news going forward. The 26-year-old fourth-year defensive back had already forced two turnovers and had three passes defensed in the first two games of the season. With Diggs out the rest of the way, the Cowboys are prepared to move DaRon Bland to the outside across from corner Stephon Gilmore, with Jourdan Lewis now likely to operate at slot cornerback for the Cowboys.

Trevon Diggs Limited At Practice By Bruised Toe
Dallas Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs (toe) has been diagnosed with a bruised toe. The 24-year-old is still able to participate in walkthroughs and Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy says "We're just being smart with it. We don't have concern about it". It's good news for Dallas and Diggs after the two sides agreed to a sizable five-year, $97 million contract extension this past Tuesday. It doesn't sound like Diggs, the 2021 interceptions leader, should have an issue being ready for Week 1 action at this point.

Trevon Diggs Signing Five-Year Extension
The Dallas Cowboys and two-time Pro Bowl cornerback Trevon Diggs are finalizing a five-year, $97 million contract extension on Tuesday, according to sources. Diggs already has 17 career interceptions and is only 24 years old. The younger brother of Buffalo Bills star wideout Stefon Diggs, Trevon has quickly developed into one of the best young ball-hawking cornerbacks in the league after just three NFL seasons. The former second-round pick finished last year with a career-high 59 tackles (50 solo), three interceptions, 14 passes defensed and a fumble recovery in 17 regular-season starts, which was a disappointment after he had a league-high 11 picks (two returned for touchdowns) in 2021. Diggs can't be counted on for double-digit interceptions again, but he makes Dallas' defense one of the best in football.

Cowboys Negotiating With Trevon Diggs On Extension
The Dallas Cowboys are negotiating with star cornerback Trevon Diggs, who is in the last year of his rookie deal, on an extension that could be close to $20 million a year. Diggs will make $4.3 million this year. He ranks as a top-10 cornerback, according to PFF, and he has many years ahead of him. The 24-year-old has led all cornerbacks with 17 interceptions over the past three seasons, including two that he returned for touchdowns. He has also had double-digit pass breakups and over 40 solo tackles every season, making him a quality starting defensive back in IDP fantasy football leagues and an essential asset for the Cowboys' defense that increases the value of their DST in fantasy football.

Trevon Diggs Questionable To Return Sunday

Trevon Diggs Will Play In Week 13
Dallas Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs (illness) is officially active for Sunday's meeting with Indianapolis. Diggs was sick throughout the week and missed a few practices. However, he returned for a full session on Friday, which is always a positive sign. While the Cowboys defense would have made do without Diggs, his availability isn't good news for Matt Ryan and the Colts offense in Week 13.
