Tyler Johnson to Act as Jets' WR1?

New York Jets wide receiver Tyler Johnson is due for an elevated workload in Week 11's road clash with the New England Patriots. The sixth-year pro notched back-to-back three-catch efforts ahead of his bye week, posting at least 60 yards in each contest, although he failed to reel in his lone target in last weekend's win over the Browns, while Justin Fields netted 42 passing yards. Things won't be much easier against their division rivals, considering New England has allowed the sixth-fewest points (19.2) and eighth-fewest yards (306.2) per game. Johnson might be an ok flier in DFS formats, but shouldn't be on fantasy managers' radars in conventional lineup leagues. Even with the suspected uptick in volume, an up-and-down Jets' offense limits the 27-year-old's ceiling. He'll wind up as RotoBaller's PPR WR77 for his outing with the Patriots.

Tyler Johnson a Desperation Week 10 Play

New York Jets wide receiver Tyler Johnson can't be relied upon in Week 10 when his team squares off with the Cleveland Browns at home. The former Los Angeles Ram was New York's most productive wideout in their win over the Bengals in Week 8, corralling 3-of-5 targets for a team-leading 64 yards and a touchdown. Johnson's score was his first of the season, and he's now recorded at least three receptions and 60 receiving yards in back-to-back games. While the 27-year-old has ascended the wide receiver pecking order, his playing time seems doomed to take a hit with the addition of ex-Indianapolis Colt Adonai Mitchell. It's unknown if Mitchell will be active for Sunday's contest, although he's already making waves in practice and is listed second on the team's depth chart behind Garrett Wilson (knee). Even if Mitchell sits, Johnson will be tough to trust against a suffocating Browns defense. He's RotoBaller's PPR WR70 for this weekend's clash.

Tyler Johnson a Week 7 DFS Dart Throw

New York Jets wide receiver Tyler Johnson won't be on the fantasy radar for his team's home matchup in Week 7 with the Carolina Panthers. Johnson is set to rack up extra playing time this weekend, with teammate Garrett Wilson (knee) expected to miss the outing with a knee injury. Despite the increased involvement, Johnson can't be trusted by owners to supply viable fantasy production, as he's compiled just four receptions on seven targets (63 yards) across five appearances in the campaign. With Wilson on the mend, a majority of the vacated targets should go to fellow WR Josh Reynolds, while running back Breece Hall and rookie tight end Mason Taylor figure to absorb the rest. Outside of desperation, Johnson isn't in play, coming in as RotoBaller's PPR WR96 ahead of Week 7.

Tyler Johnson a Healthy Scratch on Monday Night

New York Jets wide receiver Tyler Johnson is a healthy inactive for the Week 4 divisional contest on Monday Night Football, according to Susanna Weir of NewYorkJets.com. Johnson will head to the bench with Josh Reynolds returning from a hamstring injury that kept him out in Weeks 2 and 3. It's not as if Johnson took advantage of Reynolds' absence, as he caught only two passes on four targets for 32 yards and no touchdowns in two games. He didn't even catch a pass on one target in the Week 2 loss to the Buffalo Bills. Reynolds will return as receiver depth alongside Allen Lazard, Arian Smith, and Isaiah Williams for the Jets behind clear No. 1 Garrett Wilson. For fantasy purposes, nobody besides Wilson is startable on a weekly basis among the Jets' receivers. Johnson has only four receptions for 63 yards and no scores in three games so far in 2025.

Tyler Johnson Drops Back to Third in Jets WR Room

New York Jets wide receiver Tyler Johnson will see his role diminish when he takes the field for Monday night's road matchup with the Miami Dolphins. The University of Minnesota product operated as the Jets' WR2 across the previous two weeks with fellow wideout Josh Reynolds nursing a hamstring injury. However, Reynolds will return in Week 4, resuming his duties as the de facto No. 2 option across from Garrett Wilson. Either way, it isn't easy to trust anyone outside of Wilson for fantasy, as New York has (expectedly) leaned run-heavy through the first three weeks. There's some upside here for one of New York's tertiary pass-catchers, particularly in a favorable matchup with a 44.5 point over/under. Still, projecting who it might be is a futile effort for fantasy. Johnson is RotoBaller's PPR WR97 ahead of Week 4's slate of action.

Tyler Johnson's Expanded Role Doesn't Translate to Fantasy Value

New York Jets wide receiver Tyler Johnson will see an elevated snap share in his team's Week 3 matchup with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Johnson is set to operate as the Jets' second wideout again this Sunday, with teammate Josh Reynolds (hamstring) inactive for the second straight week with a hamstring injury. The sixth-year pro actually led the team in snaps at his position in Week 2, accruing one more than starter Garrett Wilson. However, he commanded a single target, failing to pull it in. Johnson may see a slight bump in volume this weekend with Tyrod Taylor calling signals for the team, and a fast-paced offense in the Buccaneers as their opposition. He'll be too difficult to trust for fantasy, though, as he's notched two total catches despite logging over 70% of New York's snaps (70.3%). Johnson is out of play as RotoBaller's PPR WR108 in Week 3.

Tyler Johnson Due for Increased Work?

New York Jets wide receiver Tyler Johnson is slated to command an elevated workload in this Sunday's home matchup with the Buffalo Bills. Johnson - like many of New York's receiving options - picked up minimal work in last weekend's loss to the Steelers. He pulled in both looks for 31 yards, but was a distant third in snapshare (33) behind teammates Garrett Wilson (64) and Josh Reynolds (hamstring [62]). Reynolds will miss Week 2's meeting with Buffalo, meaning Johnson should see an uptick in snaps. Even with the projected increase in work, the University of Minnesota product could fall victim to his team's desire to establish the run. Quarterback Justin Fields attempted only 22 passes in Week 1, and the Baltimore Ravens put up 40 points on Buffalo while Lamar Jackson threw it just 19 times. Johnson is RotoBaller's PPR WR137 in this week's ranks.

Jets Sign Tyler Johnson to Active Roster

The New York Jets have signed wide receiver Tyler Johnson to their active roster. He had been on the practice squad, but the Jets had room to elevate him after placing Alijah Vera-Tucker on injured reserve. Johnson did appear in the season opener, catching two passes for 31 yards. He'll fill a low-volume depth role going forward. As a result, fantasy managers should leave him on waivers in all leagues. Garrett Wilson remains the only Jets receiver who should be rostered in all formats,

Tyler Johnson Elevated from Practice Squad

New York Jets wide receiver Tyler Johnson was elevated from the practice squad on Saturday. Johnson failed to make the 53-man roster and was added to the practice squad. Now, Johnson will be elevated to the active roster ahead of the Week 1 matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Last season, Johnson hauled in 26 receptions for 291 receiving yards and one touchdown across 15 games with the Los Angeles Rams. He'll provide depth to the wide receiver room, but is unlikely to make a significant impact during Sunday's game. Johnson can be avoided in fantasy formats for the moment.

Tyler Johnson Showing Out at Jets Camp

New York Jets wide receiver Tyler Johnson could enter the 2025 season as the team's WR3 behind Garrett Wilson and Josh Reynolds, according to Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic. "Tyler Johnson has jumped out more in practice," Rosenblatt wrote. "[He's made] some plays after the catch and is exhibiting some athleticism that Lazard simply doesn't bring to the table." He notes that Lazard might not be a lock to make the team's 53-man roster at the end of the preseason. While this is fantastic news for Johnson, it's tough to be excited about his fantasy football prospects. The 26-year-old entered the NFL as a fifth-round pick by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2020 and has collected just 76 receptions for 828 yards and four touchdowns in 47 career games. Additionally, New York is set to have a low-volume passing offense with Justin Fields under center. Johnson could be an interesting best ball dart throw, but he can continue to go undrafted in traditionally fantasy setups.
