William Jackson III News
Former Cincinnati Bengals cornerback William Jackson agreed to a three-year deal worth around $14 million annually with the Washington Football Team on Tuesday, according to a source. The 28-year-old was the 24th overall pick in the 2016 draft and spent his first five seasons with the Bengals. He was a full-time starter for each of the last three years after missing his entire rookie season after tearing his pectoral muscle in the preseason. Over the last three seasons, Jackson started 43 of his 44 games, recording an interception each in 2019 and 2020 and a total of 27 pass breakups. He had a career-high 45 tackles, one interception and 11 passes defensed in 14 starts in 2020. A lack of big plays (just three picks) has made him mostly a disappointing former first-rounder.
Cincinnati Bengals cornerback William Jackson III (shoulder) played with a torn labrum in his shoulder the entire season in 2019. "I don't know how I did it, but I did it. It was painful every game. I'm fully healthy and ready to go," Jackson said. The 27-year-old gutted it out through 14 games to record 37 tackles (26 solo), one interception and three passes defensed. It sounds like Jackson has recovered well and should be ready for the start of the regular season this fall. He could have a bounce-back year in 2020 if he's fully healthy, but Jackson hasn't ever been fantasy relevant in IDP leagues with just two career interceptions in 45 games for Cincy.
Cincinnati Bengals cornerback William Jackson (shoulder) will return to face the Rams in Week 8 in London after missing just one game. However, head coach Zac Taylor said that cornerback Darqueze Dennard (hamstring) is doubtful to play. Dre Kirkpatrick is also still sidelined, so the Bengals will once again be short-handed against a powerful Rams offense featuring Cooper Kupp, Robert Woods and Brandin Cooks. Expect the Bengals Defense to get pummeled yet again. They are well off the fantasy radar for the rest of the season.
