Dolphins Host Yannick Ngakoue, Emmanuel Ogbah For Tryout

The Miami Dolphins are hosting free agent pass rushers Yannick Ngakoue and Emmanuel Ogbah after the news of Shaquil Barrett deciding to retire. Ngakoue most recently played for the Chicago Bears but has bounced around to six different teams in his eight-year career. For the Bears in 2023, he posted 22 tackles (13 solo), 4.0 sacks, and seven QB hits across 13 games. Ogbah played for the Dolphins over the last four years but was cut this offseason for salary-related reasons after they brought in Barrett. With Miami, he registered 24.5 sacks, 114 tackles (65 solo), and 61 QB hits.

Yannick Ngakoue Going On Injured Reserve

The Chicago Bears are placing defensive end Yannick Ngakoue (ankle) on Injured Reserve after he suffered a broken ankle in the Week 14 win over the Detroit Lions. Ngakoue will need surgery to fix his broken ankle. While the 28-year-old pass-rusher hasn't been all that attractive in IDP fantasy leagues in Chicago in 2023, his season-ending injury is a notable loss for the Bears pass rush the rest of the season. Ngakoue picked up his fourth sack of the season in Sunday's upset win over Detroit, and he'll complete his first year with the Bears with 22 tackles (13 solo), six tackles for loss and seven QB hits in addition to his four sacks in 13 starts. Despite Ngakoue's injury, the Bears defense/special teams unit will have some upside in Week 15 against the Cleveland Browns and an offensive line that is pretty beat up.

Yannick Ngakoue Signs One-Year Deal With Bears

The Chicago Bears signed top available free-agent defensive end Yannick Ngakoue to a one-year, $10.5 million deal on Thursday, including $10 million guaranteed. The deal was confirmed by his agent, Drew Rosenhaus. Ngakoue has been great the last two years with the Las Vegas Raiders and Indianapolis Colts, totaling 19.5 sacks in 32 starts, although he ended last season with a neck injury. The 28-year-old has also had at least 8.5 sack in all seven of his NFL seasons, so he will be a big boost to a Bears defense that had a league-low 20 sacks in 2022. Ngakoue doesn't do much in terms of tackling and stopping the run, so he's a one-dimensional defensive lineman in IDP fantasy leagues, and it's unclear exactly how healthy he is.

Yannick Ngakoue Wants To Play For Contender

Free-agent defensive end Yannick Ngakoue is still searching for a new home, but has made it clear he's not going to play for a sub-par team. Ngakoue said that he wants stability and a legitimate chance to pursue a title. That's fair to say considering Ngakoue has bounced around a bit since being drafted in the third round by the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2016. He spent his first four seasons of his career in Jacksonville. Since then, Ngakoue has played for four teams in three seasons. Last season, Ngakoue recorded 29 tackles, 16 quarterback hits, and 9.5 sacks in 15 games for the Indianapolis Colts. The 28-year-old still has plenty left in the tank and could be a legitimate boost to a contending defense.

Yannick Ngakoue Placed On Injured Reserve

The Indianapolis Colts placed defensive end Yannick Ngakoue (throat) on Injured Reserve on Saturday, ending his 2022 season with just two games to go. Ngakoue suffered a throat injury in Week 16 and will require surgery. The 27-year-old has been Indy's best pass-rusher this year, so it will be a big loss for their final two games, starting this weekend against the New York Giants. Ngakoue will finish his first year with the Colts with 29 tackles (18 solo), eight tackles for loss, 16 QB hits, a team-high 9.5 sacks and a forced fumble in his 15 starts. The Colts will hope Kwity Paye and Dayo Odenyingbo can step up without Ngakoue in these final two games. Indy's defense/special teams should be ignored by fantasy managers in Week 17.

Yannick Ngakoue Headed To The Colts

The Indianapolis Colts are acquiring defensive end Yannick Ngakoue in a trade with the Las Vegas Raiders. In exchange, the Raiders are receiving cornerback Rock Ya-Sin from Indy. The Raiders bolstered their pass rush on Wednesday by signing Chandler Jones. That acquisition clearly made Ngakoue less of a priority for the team. The 26-year-old Ngakoue spent just one season with the Raiders, but it was a good one as he compiled 10 sacks and forced two fumbles. He'll bolster a Colts defensive front that only managed 32 sacks last year, tied for the ninth fewest in the league.

Yannick Ngakoue Active For Week 2

Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Yannick Ngakoue (hamstring) is active for the Week 2 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Ngakoue was listed as questionable after getting in a week of limited practice. The 26-year-old pass-rusher suffered the injury in the Week 1 overtime win over the Baltimore Ravens, but he'll be ready to go on Sunday. While the Raiders defense looked better than in recent seasons in their season-opener, they are still far from fantasy relevance, even while facing a Steelers offense that fell apart in the second half last season and didn't look all that much better in their Week 1 win on the road over the Buffalo Bills.

Yannick Ngakoue Chooses The Raiders

Former Pro Bowl pass-rusher Yannick Ngakoue reached an agreement on a two-year, $26 million deal with the Las Vegas Raiders on Monday, according to sources. Ngakoue spent the 2020 season with the Jacksonville Jaguars on the franchise tag before being traded to the Minnesota Vikings and then the Baltimore Ravens. With the Vikings and Ravens in 15 games last season, he recorded eight sacks. The 25-year-old from Maryland will reunite with former Jaguars head coach Gus Bradley, who is the Raiders new defensive coordinator. Ngakoue had eight sacks, four forced fumbles and 23 tackles in his rookie year under Bradley in Jacksonville. In his only Pro Bowl appearance in his second season, Ngakoue had 12 sacks. With 45.5 sacks in his five-year career, he'll provide a much-need pass-rushing element to the Raiders defense.

Ravens Finalizing A Deal For Yannick Ngakoue

The Baltimore Ravens and Minnesota Vikings are finalizing a trade on Thursday that would send defensive end Yannick Ngakoue to the Ravens for a 2021 third-round pick and a 2022 conditional fifth-round selection, according to sources. The Vikings sent a 2021 second-round pick and a 2022 conditional fifth-rounder to the Jaguars to acquire Ngakoue earlier this year. A Ravens Defense that was already one of the top units in the league gets better and pairs Ngakoue with Calais Campbell on the defensive front. Ngakoue had just two solo tackles in Week 6 against the Falcons, but he's recorded five sacks, two forced fumbles and seven QB hits in six games this year and has been a top-10 IDP defensive lineman. He could become even more productive in Baltimore's defense the rest of the way.

Yannick Ngakoue Joins Vikings, Signs New Deal

The Minnesota Vikings have acquired defensive end Yannick Ngakoue from the Jaguars, ending a months-long saga that involved the former Pro Bowler wanting to depart from the organization at any cost. Ngakoue additionally signed a new one-year deal, albeit a discount of what he would have received had he accepted a franchise tender from the Jaguars. With the move, Ngakoue will face Jacksonville on Dec. 6. Minnesota had to part with a second-round and conditional fifth-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, further enhancing the defenses season-long upside during draft season.
