Zach Pascal News
Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Zach Pascal missed the first week-plus of training camp with food poisoning and has been slowly acclimating since, but Monday was his best day by a wide margin. He showcased nice route-running and dominated a portion of seven-on-seven drills with a one-handed catch. Pascal has yet to make much of an impact in team drills, though, and he's still trying to get on the same page as quarterback Jalen Hurts. Unfortunately for Pascal, he's currently fourth on the Eagles depth chart behind A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith and Quez Watkins, who had a productive day in team drills on Monday with a couple of nice catches. Pascal can be passed over on draft day in most leagues to begin the 2022 season.
The Philadelphia Eagles agreed to an undisclosed one-year deal with former Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Zach Pascal on Monday, according to a source. Pascal will reunite with head coach Nick Sirianni. The 27-year-old will join an Eagles receiving corps that includes DeVonta Smith, Jalen Reagor, Quez Watkins and others. In 16 games (13 starts) for the Colts last year, Pascal had 38 receptions on 69 targets for 384 yards and three touchdowns. He'll get a slight quarterback upgrade in Jalen Hurts, but the Eagles really emphasized their ground game in the second half of last season. Pascal could have more opportunity in Philadelphia, but he hasn't proven to have much of a fantasy ceiling in his four seasons in the NFL.
ESPN's Mike Wells believes the Indianapolis Colts should let impending free-agent wide receiver Zach Pascal walk in free agency this offseason. Pascal finished the 2021 season with 38 catches for 384 yards and three touchdowns, a disappointment given how much receiving help the Colts needed this year. The 27-year-old was coming off back-to-back seasons with 40-plus receptions and 600-plus yards, so his numbers in 2021 left a lot to be desired over 16 games. Pascal found the end zone just three times as well after scoring a total of 10 times in 2019 and 2020. Whether he sticks around in Indianapolis in 2022 could depend on whether T.Y. Hilton retires or re-signs with the team. But if quarterback Carson Wentz remains the starter in 2022 and Pascal re-signs, he won't have much fantasy upside in Indy.
