While he has just 10 goals and 23 points in 99 career NHL games, Jonsson-Fjallby has tallied 22 goals and 43 points in 58 games over parts of the last three seasons in the AHL. The club needed to clear a roster spot on Tuesday when star center Mark Scheifele returned from a six-game absence and Jonsson-Fjallby is the one who is headed to the minors for now.

He also has three goals and five points in 10 American Hockey League games with the Manitoba Moose this season. Scheifele has been out since Jan. 11 due to a lower-body injury, but it was announced on Monday he was expected to return for Tuesday night's contest versus the hosting Pittsburgh Penguins.
