Braden Holtby Plays Well Enough On Saturday

Dallas Stars goaltender Braden Holtby turned aside 23 of 25 shots on Saturday night in the road defeat to the San Jose Sharks. Dallas completed a winless road trip that could not be pinned on Holtby. Holtby kept San Jose in the game for the most part. It will be interesting to see if Jake Oettinger gets a start but he probably should. Holtby dropped to 5-6-1 on the season while continuing to post a .922 save percentage in 14 appearances. Again, with Ben Bishop headed for retirement, it looks like Holtby will still see a good number of games played.

Braden Holtby Gets Start After All In San Jose

Dallas Stars goaltender Braden Holtby will start in San Jose against the Sharks on Saturday. There had been some rumors that Jake Oettinger may get the nod. That was not the case. Holtby was in goal for that third period barrage by the Vegas Golden Knights on Wednesday night. He gave up five goals on 45 shots and three goals in the third period. Holtby had won three straight starts before that allowing just four goals. The 39-save win versus Carolina was one of his best games of the season. Holtby should see a high-paced San Jose team on Saturday.

Braden Holtby Looking For Third Straight Win Monday

Dallas Stars goaltender Braden Holtby seeks his third consecutive win on Monday night. The Stars entertain the Arizona Coyotes at home. They have won six straight games overall as the competition heats up in goal. Why is that? It appears that Ben Bishop may be placed on an AHL rehab assignment in the near future. With an already crowded goaltending carousel, an impressive performance is a must for Holtby. He is 4-4-1 in 11 appearance with a solid 2.30 goals-against average and a .927 save percentage. With an attractive contract, Dallas will have options as Holtby continues to impress in net.

Braden Holtby Stands Tall In Tuesday's Home Win

Dallas Stars goaltender Braden Holtby has been recharged since not playing for a couple weeks in November. He defeated Arizona last Saturday and then topped it by saving 39 of 40 shots against the Carolina Hurricanes Tuesday. Carolina bombarded Holtby with 15 high-danger scoring chances over the final 40 minutes. The Dallas goaltender stopped all but one of them. Carolina just scored once despite an expected goals for of 3.35 at even-strength. Holtby has seen 35 or more shots four times this season and yielded just nine goals in those games. The Dallas goalie upped his mark to 4-4-1 in 2021-22.

Braden Holtby Makes A Winning Return

Dallas Stars goaltender Braden Holtby was back in action on Saturday and delivered a winning performance with 25 saves in a 3-2 victory over the Coyotes. He returned from a lower-body injury, in what was his first start since Nov. 10. Holtby had gone cold prior to getting hurt, so the time spent on the sidelined could've actually been good for him. The 2018 Stanley Cup champion now has a 3-4-1 record for the season with a 2.44 goals-against average and a .920 save percentage. With Jake Oettinger having made an impressive 4-0-0 start to the season, it will be intriguing to see who gets the nod on Tuesday against Carolina.

Braden Holtby Will Start In Goal For Dallas Saturday

Dallas Stars goaltender Braden Holtby will start in net against Scott Wedgewood and the Arizona Coyotes on Saturday night. Jake Oettinger gets the night off after Dallas stopped the Colorado Avalanche 3-1 on Friday. Holtby did see some time in net last night after Oettinger had to go through concussion protocol. Holtby stopped four shots in the final 7:22 of the second period. The elder Stars goaltender had allowed three or more goals in his last four starts (0-3-1). Arizona may prove to be not as easy of a matchup as they would appear.

Braden Holtby Makes Fourth Start Of The Season

Dallas Stars goaltender Braden Holtby will record his fourth start of the season in Friday's home opener against Los Angeles. The 32-year-old has done well so far with a 1.75 goals-against average and a .947 save percentage. Holtby boasts a 2-2-1 career record against the Kings with a 2.41 goals-against average, a .916 save percentage and one shutout. The Stars' record in the matchup isn't bad either as they boast five victories from the last six meetings. L.A. has looked a lot better compared to last season, but they have traveled to Texas with back-to-back losses.

Braden Holtby Back In Net In Pittsburgh

Dallas Stars goaltender Braden Holtby will make his third start in four games as his team closes out a road trip versus the Pittsburgh Penguins on Tuesday. Signed as an unrestricted free agent over the summer, Holtby has been great in his first two starts with the Stars - posting a 2.26 goals-against average and a .939 save percentage. After struggling to find his game with Vancouver in 2020-2021, the 32-year-old looks to have the inside edge on the starting role in Dallas over fellow netminder Anton Khudobin. As a result, fantasy owners should pounce on adding Holtby (37% owned in Yahoo! leagues) before it's too late.

Braden Holtby Starts Season For Dallas

Dallas Stars goaltender Braden Holtby will guard the crease as the team opens the season on Thursday against the Rangers. The 2018 Stanley Cup champion signed a one-year deal with the club in July to provide some goalie depth with Ben Bishop's status uncertain due to knee surgery, and it looks like he's impressed the coaching staff enough to jump ahead of Anton Khudobin in the pecking order, at least for the season opener. Holtby had a very ugly year as a member of the Vancouver Canucks last season, posting only seven wins and finishing with a miserable 3.67 goals-against average and a .889 save percentage. It will be interesting to see if he can turn things around in Texas.

Braden Holtby Signs One-Year Deal With Dallas

The Dallas Stars have signed veteran goaltender Braden Holtby to a one-year, $2 million contract on Wednesday. The 31-year-old became a free-agent on Tuesday when the Vancouver Canucks bought out the final season of his two-year, $8.6 million contract. Holtby had a tough campaign with the Canucks in 2020-2021 - posting a 7-11-3 record to go along with a 3.67 goals-against average and a .889 save percentage in 21 appearances. The former Stanley Cup Champion will most likely settle into a back-up role with the Stars in 2021-2022 but could earn his way into a timeshare situation with Anton Khudobin should he start out well out of the gates. Until then, he probably should be left untouched in most fantasy drafts this fall.

Braden Holtby Bought Out By Vancouver

The Vancouver Canucks bought out the final year of Braden Holtby's contract on Tuesday. His contract would have been a $4.3 million cap hit for the Canucks. He will become an unrestricted free agent on Wednesday. Holtby had a rough year in his only season in Vancouver after signing a two-year contract. The veteran netminder had a record of 7-11-3 in 2021. In addition, he had a dismal .889 save percentage while carrying a 3.67 goals-against-average. His play in Vancouver, while most likely result in him being in a backup role next season, dropping his value in fantasy hockey come fall.

Braden Holtby Starts For Canucks On Thursday

Vancouver Canucks goaltender Braden Holtby will guard the cage in Thursday's battle with Toronto. He'll head into the clash on a 7-7-2 record. Holtby has come out very strongly from the team's COVID-19 break, winning three of four outings. He has given up over two goals just once during the run, which has taken his goals-against average for the year to 3.24. The veteran has also greatly improved his save percentage lately, getting it to .904. It's a tough spot for Holtby, but he recently beat Toronto in back-to-back outings, which should give him confidence.

Braden Holtby Earns Third Straight Victory

Vancouver Canucks goaltender Braden Holtby captured his third consecutive win on Saturday, backstopping his team to a 4-2 victory over the Ottawa Senators. The 31-year-old, who has now started three of four games since the Canucks missed nearly three weeks due to COVID-19, turned aside 26 of 28 shots in this one. With Vancouver being the league's busiest team over the next few weeks, Holtby (42% owned in Yahoo! leagues) could offer great fantasy value down the stretch. The nine-year NHL veteran has a 2.32 goals-against average and a .935 save percentage in his three starts over the past week.

Braden Holtby Starts Saturday Against Ottawa

Vancouver Canucks goalie Braden Holtby will look for his sixth win of the 2021 campaign as his team meets up with the Ottawa Senators. Holtby has served as the backup netminder to Thatcher Demko for the Canucks most of the season. He has only played against Ottawa once, and the Canucks came out victorious. The veteran goaltender allowed just one goal on 37 shots on goal. His squad playing in front of him are 5-1-0 against the Senators

Braden Holtby In Canucks Goal On Saturday

Vancouver Canucks goaltender Braden Holtby will start Saturday's rematch against Montreal. Vancouver beat the Canadiens 3-2 in overtime Friday night to take their winning streak to four games, so Holtby will be backed by a hot team. He has put together a 4-6-1 record for the season with a 3.56 goals-against average and a .893 save percentage. Holtby has lost two of his three starts against the Habs, allowing close to five goals per game (4.90) with a .861 save percentage. He'll face Carey Price in the opposite crease, who rarely seems to lose on Saturdays, so improving the numbers in the matchup will be very tough for Holtby.

Braden Holtby Guards Canucks Cage On Tuesday

Vancouver Canucks goaltender Braden Holtby gets the nod for the 11th time this season for Tuesday's clash with Winnipeg. The Canucks are looking to post back-to-back wins versus the Jets after Thatcher Demko recorded his first career shutout in Monday's 4-0 victory. Holtby has a 4-5-1 record for the season with a 3.51 goals-against average and a .893 save percentage, so his start in Vancouver has been far from impressive and he can't be trusted in fantasy hockey. Although the 31-year-old does have a nice 11-3-3 career record against the Jets with a 2.49 goals-against average, a .922 save percentage, and two shutouts.

Braden Holtby Makes 10th Start Of The Season

Vancouver Canucks goaltender Braden Holtby will earn his 10th start of the season on Sunday against Winnipeg. He's sitting on a 4-5-0 record for the season and is looking for his second consecutive win, after stopping 35 pucks in a 5-1 victory over Calgary on Wednesday. Holtby carries a 3.44 goals-against average and a .896 save percentage. Relying on Canucks goalies has been tough this season, as the team has leaked goals all over the place, so Holtby is a risky choice to start on Sunday.

Braden Holtby Starts In Calgary On Wednesday

Vancouver Canucks goaltender Braden Holtby will man the crease as his team battles the Calgary Flames on Wednesday. The 31-year-old, who is playing in his first season out in Vancouver, enters the contest on a three-game losing streak - a span in which he's allowed 14 goals on 90 shots on goal (.844 save percentage). Overall, Holtby has posted just three wins, a 3.75 goals-against average and a .885 save percentage in his eight starts on the campaign. As a result, Holtby can be stapled onto the bench in most fantasy lineups until he shows signs of comfort in net with his new team.

Braden Holtby Returns To Crease On Monday

Vancouver Canucks goaltender Braden Holtby will draw the start as his team looks to grab a victory over the Montreal Canadiens on Monday. The 31-year-old is fresh off an immaculate performance versus the Ottawa Senators on Thursday in which he turned aside 36 of 37 shots against in a victory. After having inked a two-year, $8.6 million contract with Vancouver as a free-agent over the offseason, Holtby has kicked off his tenure as a Canuck with three wins, a 3.17 goals-against average and a .906 save percentage in five starts. Facing the league's most prolific offense early on (4.1 goals-per-game), Holtby can be considered an average starting option on the first day of weekly fantasy matchups.

Braden Holtby Returns To Vancouver's Crease

Vancouver Canucks goaltender Braden Holtby will be back between the pipes on Thursday against Ottawa after sitting out the last two games. Holtby watched Thatcher Demko beat the Senators in back-to-back games, and he can now take his own shot at them. He is carrying a 2-2-0 record for the season with a 3.70 goals-against average and an .888 save percentage. The Canucks have completely dominated the matchups with Ottawa, so Holtby is nicely set up for his third win of the season. He has crushed the Senators throughout his career, putting together a 9-3-1 record in 13 games against them.
