Colorado Avalanche goaltender Ivan Prosvetov will be the man between the sticks for the team in Wednesday's battle against St. Louis. The 24-year-old will make his first start of the campaign. He's only seen 8:05 of action so far in 2023-24, which came last week in a 4-0 loss to Pittsburgh. Wednesday will also mark his first start with the Avalanche. Prosvetov has made all of his previous 14 career appearances with Arizona. He didn't have a great time in the desert, going 4-6-1 with a 4.07 goals-against average and a .880 save percentage. Having joined a much stronger team, Prosvetov should have a lot more success in 2023-24, and Wednesday's matchup is a very favorable one for him against a team that has averaged only 1.86 goals per game.
Arizona Coyotes goalie Ivan Prosvetov gets the nod Saturday Against the San Jose Sharks. The 24-year-old Russian netminder will make his tenth appearance in an NHL game. This season he has played exceptionally well for the Coyotes as he is undefeated in three games with a 1.67 goals-against-average and a .952 save percentage. He could keep a perfect record playing against San Jose, who are near the bottom of the Western Conference standings.
Arizona Coyotes goaltender Ivan Prosvetov will guard the cage Monday against the St. Louis Blues. The 23-year-old Russian will make his third start of the season. Prosvetov is still looking for his first win after going 0-1-1 in his first couple of appearances, registering a 3.84 goals-against average with a .893 save percentage. The young netminder has faced Colorado and Tampa Bay, so he's had to deal with a couple of the toughest matchups this league has to offer, but Prosvetov hasn't done anything spectacular in the AHL either. He's posted a 14-19-5 record with the Tucson Roadrunners, allowing 3.61 goals per game with a .883 save percentage and two shutouts. The Blues are massive favorites for the contest and it seems very likely that Prosvetov's wait for his first win will continue.
