Kyle Okposo Re-Enters Panthers Lineup

Florida Panthers right wing Kyle Okposo will be back in the lineup for Monday's Game 7 against Edmonton. The veteran was scratched for Game 6, giving way for Nick Cousins, but Panthers head coach Paul Maurice will swap the two men again on Monday. Okposo has had a quiet playoff run with the Panthers, failing to score with 16 shots on net and tallying two assists in 16 outings. He's filling a fourth-line role for the team, averaging 8:36 of ice time.

Kyle Okposo Set To Re-Enter Panthers Lineup For Game 4

Florida Panthers right wing Kyle Okposo is expected to rejoin the lineup in Game 4 against the Rangers on Tuesday. He skated on the fourth line Tuesday morning. Steven Lorentz appears to be set for a new look as well in the lineup. Ryan Lomberg and Nick Cousins will be making way for the two. Okposo hasn't played since Game 5 against Boston in the previous round. The veteran has yet to score in the 2024 playoffs, registering two assists with six shots on goal in eight appearances.

Kyle Okposo To Suit Up In Game 3

Florida Panthers forward Kyle Okposo will be back in the lineup for Thursday's Game 3 of the team's first-round series against the Tampa Bay Lightning. Ryan Lomberg (illness) made the trip to Tampa Bay after missing Game 2 but the team needs another day of feeling good before he's allowed to be around the team. Acquired ahead of the March 8 trade deadline, Okposo got into just six games with his new team, failing to hit the scoresheet with eight shots on goal in that time. The veteran notched 12 goals and 22 points in 61 games with the Buffalo Sabres prior to the trade. The Panthers lead the Lightning 2-0 entering Thursday's action.

Kyle Okposo Lands With Panthers

Buffalo Sabres forward Kyle Okposo has been traded to the Florida Panthers in exchange for defenseman Calle Sjalin and a conditional seventh-round pick in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft. The draft pick would become a fifth-rounder if the Panthers go on to win the Stanley Cup. The 35-year-old has recorded 12 goals and 22 points across 61 games on a Sabres team that has disappointed again this season. A veteran of 1,045 career regular-season games, Okposo has recorded 242 goals and 614 points for his career. The Panthers have also acquired winger Vladimir Tarasenko while signing defenseman Gustav Forsling to an eight-year extension over the last couple of days.

Kyle Okposo Hits His Third Career Hat Trick

Buffalo Sabres right wing Kyle Okposo skated away with his third career hat trick after the team picked apart the Red Wings on Thursday 6-3. The veteran had a pair of second-period goals and wrapped up his hat trick with an empty-netter. He became the third player in franchise history to record a hat trick at age 34 or older. Okposo's best days are clearly behind him, but he has been a solid force in a bottom-six role, notching six goals and 10 assists in 26 games this season. He is closing out 2022 with a bit of a hot streak, having put together a three-game scoring run.

Kyle Okposo Out On Thursday

Buffalo Sabres right wing Kyle Okposo will miss Thursday's matchup against Colorado with a lower-body injury. He is considered day-to-day with the injury. The veteran has had a decent campaign as a bottom-six forward with 11 points in 23 games, although he has slowed down considerably in recent weeks, and taking some time off might actually be good for him. Defenseman Jacob Bryson will also miss the contest with a lower-body problem and is considered day-to-day, while Vinnie Hinostroza (undisclosed) will return from a six-game absence. He will be a direct replacement for Okposo on the fourth line. With eight points collected in 15 games, Hinostroza has done reasonably well in limited minutes this season, but five of his points came in the first four games of the campaign, and he's not someone fantasy managers should target.

Kyle Okposo Returns From A Six-Game Absence

Buffalo Sabres right wing Kyle Okposo (lower body) will be back in the lineup Friday versus New Jersey. He returns after missing six games with a lower-body ailment. The Sabres captain will head to the fourth line to skate with Zemgus Girgensons and Tyson Jost. It looks like the team will try to ease him back into action because Okposo has actually played a solid role for the side this season, averaging 15:19 of ice time. The veteran winger has also seen plenty of success on the ice, bagging nine points in 14 appearances with 29 shots, 17 blocks and 15 hits.

Kyle Okposo Misses Saturday's Game

Buffalo Sabres right wing Kyle Okposo will sit out Saturday's clash with the Bruins. He's dealing with what the team is calling "general soreness" and will miss his first game of the season. Okposo has quietly enjoyed a fine start to the season with nine points in 14 games. His absence is giving Jack Quinn a chance to rejoin the lineup after he sat out one match as a healthy scratch. Despite being forced to sit in the press box on Thursday versus Vegas, the 21-year-old has been pretty productive lately, collecting four points in five games. Quinn boasts one goal and four assists overall for the season with 11 games played.

Kyle Okposo Cleared For Action

Buffalo Sabres right wing Kyle Okposo (upper body) has received the all-clear from doctors and will be in the lineup on Thursday when the team kicks off the 2022-23 campaign at home against Ottawa. Okposo, who was named Buffalo's new captain a few days ago, was injured in a preseason game last week. The veteran winger enjoyed something of a renaissance last season, going for 21 goals and 45 points in 74 appearances. He will look to reach 600 career points this season, although fantasy managers shouldn't expect a lot of scoring from Okposo early on, as he will start the season on the fourth line.

Kyle Okposo Out Against Boston

Buffalo Sabres right wing Kyle Okposo (ankle) will sit out Thursday's meeting with Boston. The veteran winger hurt his left ankle against the Islanders last Saturday and it was always going to be unlikely that he plays after Okposo wasn't able to practice with the team ahead of Thursday's matchup. Buffalo's alternate captain has enjoyed a nice bounce-back year in 2021-22 with 21 goals and 45 points in 74 games. That is more points than he had in the previous two campaigns combined (32) and it's his best output since 2016-17. John Hayden will replace Okposo in the lineup on Thursday.

Kyle Okposo Out Wednesday Due To Illness

Buffalo Sabres winger Kyle Okposo (illness) will not be in the lineup Wednesday against the Montreal Canadiens, Mike Harrington of The Buffalo News reported. While the Sabres have lost five of their last seven games and are toward the bottom of the Atlantic Division, Okposo has contributed plenty lately with three goals in five games. The 33-year-old is currently listed as day-to-day, so managers with him rostered should keep an eye out for updates on his status.

Kyle Okposo Scores Power Play Goal In Defeat

Buffalo Sabres right-winger Kyle Okposo loves to play against his former team and he scored again in New York on Thursday night. His power play goal with a minute left in the first period tied the game at 1. The winger had a ton of scoring chances in this game as he led Buffalo with seven shots on goal and six scoring chances. He even hit a post as well. Okposo has enjoyed a career renaissance this season with 21 points and seven goals in 32 games this year. His time on ice has come back up to 2017-18 levels at around 17 minutes a night. Okposo remains on pace to eclipse 50 points for the first time since 2016.

Kyle Okposo Continues Hot Stretch with Another Assist

Kyle Okposo assisted on the Dylan Cozens power-play goal during the first period. That gave him four points in five games for the right-winger. Let's face it. The right-winger has enjoyed quite the start to the season. His possession numbers hovered around 60% despite being deployed in the offensive zone just 42% of the time. Okposo is now up to two goals and two assists on the season, More importantly, Okposo looks healthy even despite playing 15:40 on Saturday.

Kyle Okposo Good To Go On Saturday

Buffalo Sabres right wing Kyle Okposo will be in the lineup on Saturday against the New York Rangers despite missing the morning skate. The 32-year-old had a very slow start to the season, but his fantasy stock has been on a rise lately, with Okposo joining the Buffalo's top-six. He went pointless in Thursday's 3-2 overtime loss versus the Rangers, but the veteran winger was on a five-game point streak prior to the contest, and he's collected eight points in his last 10 outings. Fantasy managers in deep leagues should consider adding Okposo, and he also looks like a nice under-the-radar DFS play.

Kyle Okposo Missing For Buffalo On Monday

Buffalo Sabres right wing Kyle Okposo (undisclosed) will miss Monday's contest against the Rangers. Rasmus Asplund will take over his spot in the lineup. Okposo had just picked up some form by scoring his first goal of the season and registering points in back-to-back games. He's on five points for the year in 24 outings. Okposo just can't seem to shake off the injury bug, and he's headed towards another lost season. The Sabres are looking to avoid a 14th consecutive loss on Monday with Carter Hutton between the pipes.
