Kyle Okposo News
Florida Panthers forward Evan Rodrigues (lower body) is out for Tuesday's game against the Dallas Stars and is considered day-to-day. Rodrigues suffered a lower-body injury after blocking a shot on Saturday and isn't healthy enough to play Tuesday. His absence will make room for Kyle Okposo to make his debut with the team after being acquired from Buffalo last week. Okposo has 22 points (12 goals, 10 assists) in 61 games played and is more of a depth option at this point. His fantasy value is very limited and he does not need to be considered as a streamer.
Buffalo Sabres forward Kyle Okposo has been traded to the Florida Panthers in exchange for defenseman Calle Sjalin and a conditional seventh-round pick in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft. The draft pick would become a fifth-rounder if the Panthers go on to win the Stanley Cup. The 35-year-old has recorded 12 goals and 22 points across 61 games on a Sabres team that has disappointed again this season. A veteran of 1,045 career regular-season games, Okposo has recorded 242 goals and 614 points for his career. The Panthers have also acquired winger Vladimir Tarasenko while signing defenseman Gustav Forsling to an eight-year extension over the last couple of days.
Buffalo Sabres right wing Kyle Okposo skated away with his third career hat trick after the team picked apart the Red Wings on Thursday 6-3. The veteran had a pair of second-period goals and wrapped up his hat trick with an empty-netter. He became the third player in franchise history to record a hat trick at age 34 or older. Okposo's best days are clearly behind him, but he has been a solid force in a bottom-six role, notching six goals and 10 assists in 26 games this season. He is closing out 2022 with a bit of a hot streak, having put together a three-game scoring run.
Buffalo Sabres right wing Kyle Okposo will miss Thursday's matchup against Colorado with a lower-body injury. He is considered day-to-day with the injury. The veteran has had a decent campaign as a bottom-six forward with 11 points in 23 games, although he has slowed down considerably in recent weeks, and taking some time off might actually be good for him. Defenseman Jacob Bryson will also miss the contest with a lower-body problem and is considered day-to-day, while Vinnie Hinostroza (undisclosed) will return from a six-game absence. He will be a direct replacement for Okposo on the fourth line. With eight points collected in 15 games, Hinostroza has done reasonably well in limited minutes this season, but five of his points came in the first four games of the campaign, and he's not someone fantasy managers should target.
