Marc-Andre Fleury News
Minnesota Wild goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury could make his debut for the team on Saturday when they host the Columbus Blue Jackets. The veteran netminder was acquired by Minnesota at the trade deadline from the Chicago Blackhawks. Fleury is 19-21-5 with a .908 save percentage this season, although those numbers could be more of a reflection of how poorly the Blackhawks played in front of him. Nevertheless, fantasy managers should give Fleury at least one start with his new team to see if he can turn his season around.
Marc-Andre Fleury moved within the NHL Central Division on Monday as the goaltender was traded to the Minnesota Wild for a conditional second-round draft pick. The former Chicago Blackhawks goalie was a respectable 19-21-5 in 45 games posting a 2.95 goals-against-average and a .908 save percentage. Fleury instantly becomes the likely "1A" in Minnesota since Kaapo Kahkonen was traded soon after. Cam Talbot is expected to split starts with Fleury but no one is certain if it will be 50-50. Either way, Minnesota has veteran goaltending for their run to the postseason.
Chicago Blackhawks goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury hit a big milestone in Thursday's 2-0 win over Montreal, joining Martin Brodeur and Patrick Roy as the third netminder in league history with 500 wins. He required the fewest games (901) to hit the mark. Fleury notched the big victory with his 69th career shutout, saving 30 shots to improve to 8-10-0 for the season. The Flower had a tough start in Chicago, but he's been in fine form in recent weeks, improving his goals-against average to 2.79 and save percentage to .913 in the process.
Chicago Blackhawks goalie Marc-Andre Fleury starts Tuesday against the Rangers. The veteran netminder has been hot lately for the Blackhawks, winning three out of his last five starts. He will be squaring off against Bulgarian native Alexandar Georgiev, who's collected five wins in a row. New York is having an excellent season posting a 16-4-3 record in the first quarter of the year. Fleury and his teammates will have their hands full at home at the United Center in Chicago.
