Marc-Andre Fleury Signs One-Year Extension With Wild

Minnesota Wild goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury has signed a one-year, $2.5 million contract extension with the Wild for the 2024-25 season. The 39-year-old contemplated retirement following the end of the team's regular season but decided to return for one more year. The 2024-25 season will be his final campaign in the NHL. "I've been asked a lot by fans, media, friends, what's next for me," Fleury said. "It's good that this is settled and I don't have to talk about it for another year. Next year will be last also. Excited to get this done." The veteran turned in a 2.98 goals-against average and an .895 save percentage across 39 games (35 starts) in the 2023-24 season while his 561 career wins sit second all-time.

Marc-Andre Fleury Could Return To Wild Next Season

Minnesota Wild goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury isn't ruling out a return to the Wild next season but also said it was likely a return to the Wild or retirement. "Yeah, it's probably Minnesota or retirement. I wouldn't want to move and take my three kids out of their environment. They've moved enough already. I don't want to uproot them." Fleury is in the final season of a two-year deal but said if he returns, it will be on a one-year contract. It's been a difficult season for the Wild while Fleury has posted a 2.85 goals-against average and an .899 save percentage in 36 games. Fleury ranks second all-time with 560 career wins.

Marc-Andre Fleury Earns Victory Against Former Team

Minnesota Wild goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury stopped 34-of-36 shots on goal in Friday's 3-2 victory against the Penguins. Fleury returned to the crease for his first start since Jan. 19 due to an upper-body injury, while the 39-year-old had a solid performance to follow up a pregame ceremony for moving into second place on the NHL's all-time goaltender wins list. Fleury is not a recommended option across standard formats as the veteran netminder has a record of 8-9-3 to go along with a 2.91 save percentage and .900 save percentage through 24 appearances.

Marc-Andre Fleury Might Return On Saturday

Minnesota Wild goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury (upper body) could return to the lineup on Saturday against Anaheim. The veteran will be unavailable for a third consecutive game on Thursday versus Nashville, but he's considered day-to-day, and head coach John Hynes hasn't ruled him out for Saturday. Fleury's absence means a 27th start of the campaign for Filip Gustavsson on Thursday. He's started to turn around his season lately and will have a chance to grab a fourth consecutive win on Thursday night.

Marc-Andre Fleury Takes Over Sole Possession Of Second On All-Time Wins List

Minnesota Wild goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury had a special night at the office on Monday versus the Islanders, recording his 552nd career win to move past Patrick Roy for sole possession of second place on the NHL's all-time list. He did it in spectacular style as well, logging his 74th career shutout with 21 saves in a 5-0 win. Fleury holds the 12th position on the all-time shutouts list. The three-time Stanley Cup champion has been one of the best goalies in the league over the last couple of decades, although the 2023-24 campaign could have gone better for Fleury. He picked up only his second victory since the turn of the year, and Fleury carries an 8-9-3 record for the season.

Marc-Andre Fleury Wants To Stay In Minnesota

Minnesota Wild goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury has announced that he wants to stay with the team for the 2023-24 campaign. The veteran netminder has just wrapped up his first full season with Minnesota. He had a decent campaign with a 24-16-4 record in the regular season, but Fleury logged just 76:41 of action in the postseason and took a bad 7-3 beating from Dallas in his lone start. However, Fleury, who will turn 39 in November, wants to remain with the team, even as a backup. The three-time Stanley Cup champion has one more year left on his contract that carries a $3.5 million cap hit.

Marc-Andre Fleury Helps Wild To Another Victory

Kirill Kaprizov provided both goals. Fleury has won all of his three starts during the streak, allowing only three goals. The veteran netminder has bounced back from a bad spell, saving 73 of 76 shots for a spectacular .960 save percentage during the winning run. Fleury is now 19-13-3 for the season with a 2.81 goals-against average, a .905 save percentage and two shutouts. With him and Filip Gustavsson in fine form, the team has gone 7-0-1 across the last eight outings, and more success should be on the horizon if both goalies continue to produce high-level performances.

Marc-Andre Fleury Back For Wild On Tuesday

Minnesota Wild goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury (personal) will be between the sticks Tuesday against the Rangers. He was unavailable for Sunday's matchup versus St. Louis with a personal matter. The veteran netminder will be battling some demons on Tuesday after he opened the season with a horrible performance against the Rangers, allowing seven goals on 35 shots. Fleury started the campaign with back-to-back losses but has been rock-solid since then, putting together a 13-8-2 record. He is boasting a 2.94 goals-against average with a .901 save percentage and one shutout.

Marc-Andre Fleury Unavailable On Sunday

Minnesota Wild goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury will miss Sunday's clash with St. Louis for personal reasons. The veteran made his 24th start of the campaign Saturday against Buffalo and took a 6-5 overtime loss despite producing 31 saves. Fleury has managed a 13-8-2 record this season, allowing 2.94 goals per game with a .902 save percentage. It's currently unclear if the Wild go with Filip Gustavsson (illness) or Zane McIntyre on Sunday. Gustavsson has been in great form but might not be at his best after having a bout with an illness, while McIntyre hasn't played in the NHL since 2016-17 when he had his only eight career games with Boston.

Marc-Andre Fleury Holds Blackhawks In Check Friday

Minnesota Wild goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury was sharp on Friday, stopping 29 of 30 shots to lead the Wild to a 4-1 victory over the Chicago Blackhawks. Fleury improves to 11-7-1 on the year to go with a 2.94 GAA and .899 SV%. It has been an up-and-down season for both Fleury and the Wild, but he has now put together back-to-back stellar performances and is hopefully turning a corner. He might be a good buy-low option for fantasy managers who think he can regain his form.
