St. Louis Blues defenseman Marco Scandella (hip) will make his season debut in Tuesday's matchup against Carolina. He is projected to skate on the third defensive pairing after recovering from right hip surgery. Tuesday is also going to be Scandella's 700th career game. He has tallied 160 points for his career with 932 shots on goal, 907 blocks and 738 hits, so Scandella definitely isn't a player fantasy managers should rush to grab, but it's always great to see players making their way back from a long injury layoff. Scandella last played in Game 6 of the Western Conference second-round series against Colorado last year.
St. Louis Blues defenseman Marco Scandella (lower body) will be back in action Wednesday against Colorado. He will play for the first time since Game 4 of the first round and for only the third time this postseason. The 32-year-old will skate with Justin Faulk on the second defensive pairing. Scott Perunovich and Calle Rosen are coming out of the lineup to make room for Scandella and Nathan Walker. Scandella won't do a lot for fantasy managers, but he will be a good addition for a team that is desperate to stop the leak at the back. He averaged a block per game during the regular season and registered 106 hits across 70 outings.
St. Louis Blues defenseman Marco Scandella (lower body) continued to skate Thursday morning but won't be in action in Game 2 against the Avalanche. The 32-year-old has featured in just two games in the playoffs and last played in Game 4 against Minnesota in the first round. He went pointless and registered a minus-three rating, so things have been pretty rough for Scandella. His next chance to return comes on Saturday, although it sounds like head coach Craig Berube isn't ready to put Scandella back in until he's 100 percent healthy again, and that might take a while.
St. Louis Blues defenseman Marco Scandella reinjured himself in Sunday's Game 4 against the Wild, playing just 1:34 before leaving with a lower-body problem. According to Blues head coach Craig Berube, it's the same issue that forced Scandella to miss the final regular-season game and the start of the playoffs. The 32-year-old logged 17:18 in his return to the lineup in Game 3. An injury crisis has hit the Blues backline, but there was some extra help at least on Sunday as Scott Perunovich (wrist) made his first appearance since Jan. 15. Nick Leddy (upper body) and Robert Bortuzzo (upper body) could also be back in action soon.
Marco Scandella Returns To The Lineup Thursday Vs. Rangers
St. Louis Blues defenseman Marco Scandella (lower body) returns to the lineup on Thursday as his team faces the visiting New York Rangers. The veteran blueliner has not played in exactly one month, missing 11 games after sustaining a lower-body injury. While the Blues need all the help they can get on defense down the final stretch of the regular season, he doesn't hold much value for fantasy managers given he only has 10 points (one goal, nine assists) through 45 games played this season.
