Mike Hoffman, Kevin Labanc, Alexander Barabanov To Hit Free Agency
San Jose Sharks forwards Mike Hoffman, Kevin Labanc, and Alexander Barabanov will all walk as free agents this offseason, according to general manager Mike Grier. It was a difficult season for the trio and the Sharks overall as the team finished dead last with 47 points on the season. Hoffman notched 10 goals and 23 points in 66 games. Labanc's struggles were immense this season as he tallied just two goals and nine points in 46 games, a far cry from the 17 goals and 56 points he tallied in 82 games in 2018-19. As for Barabanov, the Russian tallied just four goals and 13 points in 46 games. All three forwards served as healthy scratches regularly throughout the season.
San Jose Sharks forwards Mike Hoffman and Kevin Labanc are both back in the lineup on Tuesday night against the visiting Calgary Flames. Both players have served as healthy scratches of late but will return Tuesday to battle the Flames. It's been a tough offensive season for both wingers as Hoffman has registered 10 goals and 22 points on just 70 shots on goal across 65 games while Labanc has struggled mightily to just two goals and nine points across 45 games on the campaign. The two are a combined minus-47 on the last-place Sharks who are the front-runners to land the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft.
San Jose Sharks winger Mike Hoffman exited Saturday's 2-1 win over Ottawa with an undisclosed injury. He was unable to carry on after taking a hit from behind from Senators captain Brady Tkachuk in the third period. The 34-year-old veteran had an anonymous outing, finishing pointless and with no shots on goal in 13:32 of action. Following the departures of Tomas Hertl and Anthony Duclair, Hoffman sits fourth in scoring among the Sharks players, with 22 points (10 goals, 12 assists) posted in 61 games. There should be an update available on Hoffman before the team heads on a five-game road trip next week.
Mike Hoffman Excited For Second Opportunity With Sharks
San Jose Sharks winger Mike Hoffman is looking forward to finally suiting up for the team, five years after the club initially acquired him. Back in the summer of 2018, the Ottawa Senators traded Hoffman to San Jose, but he was quickly flipped to the Florida Panthers. Following three different stops, Hoffman is now a Shark again, arriving from Montreal last week in a three-team trade. "It was a little surprising at first," Hoffman said about the trade to Josh Frojelin of San Jose Hockey Now. "Once it sunk in, it's an exciting time for me and my family. We're looking forward to the opportunity to play in San Jose and getting to meet the team, coaching staff, and all the workers around there." The veteran winger has seen his numbers consistently drop in recent years, and he had only 14 goals and 34 points in 67 games with the Canadiens last season. However, Hoffman could enjoy a bit of a renaissance in San Jose if he can lock down a top-six position.
Montreal Canadiens winger Mike Hoffman posted two assists as the team took down Philadelphia 5-2 on Friday. He helped David Savard to open the scoring and Nick Suzuki also benefited from Hoffman's work in a power-play situation. 2022-23 has been a miserable campaign for Hoffman, but the veteran has found some success in recent weeks, collecting over half (13) of his points (25) across his last 14 appearances. In current form, Hoffman could definitely do a job for teams in deep fantasy leagues.
Montreal Canadiens winger Mike Hoffman will rejoin the lineup Monday versus Seattle. He has been a healthy scratch for the past two games. The veteran will be taking Anthony Richard's spot in the lineup. Hoffman has been off the fantasy radar for most of the season, registering only 12 points in 28 appearances. Half of his points came in seven November outings, so fantasy managers should keep their expectations extremely low when it comes to Hoffman.
Montreal Canadiens winger Mike Hoffman (lower body) will rejoin the action Saturday versus L.A. A lower-body injury has forced him to miss eight games, but Hofmann has now been cleared to play, and he will slot into the third line next to Kirby Dach and Juraj Slafkovsky. The veteran sniper had clearly his best spell of the season right before getting injured, registering six points in six games. He's on five goals and three assists for the whole season with 16 games played. Hoffman's best days are behind him, but he's a savvy scorer and Saturday's matchup puts him in a spot where he has a chance to do some scoring against a team that is giving up 3.59 goals per game this season.
Montreal Canadiens winger Mike Hoffman (lower-body) sat out Monday's practice after being injured over the weekend against Philadelphia. The team has announced that Hoffman was being evaluated for a lower-body problem. It's currently unknown if Hoffman can play Tuesday versus Buffalo. The veteran sniper has begun to recover from an awful start to the season and bagged his sixth point in six games via an assist against the Flyers. He has tallied five goals and three assists overall this season in 16 games. Juraj Slafkovsky moved to the second line in Monday's practice and could be set to play a major role in Tuesday's matchup if Hoffman isn't healthy enough to play.
Mike Hoffman Misses Practice, Considered Day-To-Day
Montreal Canadiens winger Mike Hoffman is dealing with an upper-body injury and missed Friday's practice. The team considers him day-to-day for now. Montreal is set to start the season on Oct. 12 against Toronto. Hoffman has struggled to find consistent form ever since leaving Florida in 2020, but he finished last season with a nice five-game point streak and will hope to open the new campaign on the right foot as well. Hoffman is projected to start the year on the second line, although Montreal's plans for the season opener could change quickly, as center Christian Dvorak also missed Friday's practice with an upper-body problem.
Montreal Canadiens winger Mike Hoffman will skate on the first line in Saturday's matchup against Ottawa. He scored his 12th goal of the season last time out against Philadelphia, and it appears that he's impressed interim head coach Martin St. Louis enough to get a chance to ride with Nick Suzuki and Cole Caufield. Hoffman's debut campaign in Montreal has been underwhelming as he's recorded only 32 points across 63 games. This is, of course, a revenge game for Hoffman after he started his career as a Senator. He's been able to get five points in nine games against Ottawa since leaving the team.
Montreal Canadiens forward Mike Hoffman will make his season debut as his team faces off against the visiting San Jose Sharks on Tuesday night. The 31-year-old had missed the entirety of training camp and the Canadiens' first three games of the campaign due to a lower-body injury. Inked to a three-year, $13.5 million deal with Montreal over the offseason, Hoffman will look to provide some scoring punch to a team that has scored just three goals through three contests. With his lethal shot and strong offensive awareness (scored 169 goals over the past six seasons), Hoffman should be owned in much more than 43% of Yahoo! leagues.
Montreal Canadiens winger Mike Hoffman (lower body) skated on the third line at Monday's practice and looks ready to make his team debut on Tuesday against San Jose. Hoffman missed the whole preseason after signing a three-year, $13.5 million deal with Montreal during the offseason. The 31-year-old had a pretty miserable time in St. Louis last season, even sitting out some games as a healthy scratch, but he's previously had some very productive campaigns with Ottawa and Florida. Hoffman boasts 189 goals and 395 points in 545 career games. It looks like he'll also be on the first power-play unit on Tuesday.
Montreal Canadiens forward Mike Hoffman is expected to miss the next four weeks due to a lower-body injury. The 31-year-old, who joined Montreal in the off-season after signing a three-year, $13.5 million contract, is expected to carry a significant role in the Habs' top-six forward group and top power-play in 2021-2022. Hoffman posted 36 points (17 goals, 19 assists) in 52 games with the Blues last season but had previously eclipsed the 25-goal mark in five of his past six campaigns. The Ontario native could be a sneaky value-add at the back end of fantasy drafts -especially if he's placed in an empty injured-reserve spot throughout the month of October.
Montreal Canadiens were able to come to a contract agreement with free-agent forward Mike Hoffman on Wednesday. Hoffman signed a three-year deal worth $13.5 million with the Habs. He spent just one season in St. Louis, scoring 17 goals and adding 19 helpers in 52 regular-season games. The 31-year-old could provide some offensive firepower for Montreal as they ranked 17th in the league in regular-season goals scored in 2021. It will be interesting to see where Hoffman fits in for the upcoming season. Fantasy managers expect Hoffman to excel in Montreal as he has produced points consistently at all levels.
Mike Hoffman Pots Two Goals To Extend Point Streak
St. Louis Blues winger Mike Hoffman extended his point streak to three games on Wednesday. St. Louis knocked off Minnesota 4-3 in a crucial win. Through Hoffman's point streak, he's recorded three goals and two assists. He sits second in goals scored on his team with 16 and third in points with 32. The former Ottawa Senator should play an essential role in the team's final playoff push, as the Blues are winners of their last three contests.
Mike Hoffman Produces Three Points In Losing Effort
St. Louis Blues winger Mike Hoffman had a big game with three points Wednesday night against Colorado but couldn't save his team from a 4-3 loss. The 31-year-old scored twice and grabbed a power-play assist on a Vince Dunn goal. Hoffman has now produced back-to-back multi-goal games. The Kitchener, Ontario native somehow survived the trade deadline in St. Louis despite sitting out most of last week as a healthy scratch. He's returned to the lineup with a bang and should feel extremely confident ahead of Saturday's road outing against Arizona. Hoffman enters the contest with 13 goals and 26 points through 38 games.
St. Louis Blues third-line winger Mike Hoffman tallied two goals on Saturday. St. Louis defeated the Minnesota Wild 3-2 in overtime. Hoffman's first marker in the first period came on the power-play. The winger had been a healthy scratch the previous two games. Through 37 contests, the Kitchener, Ontario native is responsible for 11 goals and 12 helpers. He has two game-winning goals and averages just over 15:00 minutes of ice time per game. St. Louis has Sunday off before facing off against Minnesota again on Monday in St. Paul.
St. Louis Blues winger Mike Hoffman is expected to be a healthy scratch again for Friday's meeting with Minnesota. He was dropped for Wednesday's 3-1 win over Vegas and was just an extra at Friday's morning skate. Defenseman Robert Bortuzzo will also remain in the press box. Hoffman hasn't done too badly with 21 points in 36 games, but he's been a defensive liability and the team has elected to move forward without him. Sammy Blais has benefitted big time from the lineup move, as he was promoted to the first line on Wednesday, and the 24-year-old repaid the trust by notching his fourth goal of the season. He will remain on Ryan O'Reilly's line for Friday's matchup.
St. Louis Blues forward Mike Hoffman scored a power-play goal and added a primary assist as his team picked up a 3-2 overtime win versus the San Jose Sharks on Thursday night. Hoffman, having signed with the Blues as an unrestricted free-agent over the offseason, also contributed a plus-one rating, five shots and one hit in 19:33 of ice time in the victory. After getting off to a slow start to his debut season in St. Louis (two points in six games), the Canadian sniper has collected 10 points (five goals, five assists) over his past 10 contests. Appearing comfortable in the Blues' top-six forward group and first power-play unit, Hoffman is back to looking like the forward who has produced six straight 20-goal seasons.
St. Louis Blues winger Mike Hoffman produced the game-winning goal in Saturday's 5-4 overtime victory against the Coyotes, striking 1:39 into the extra frame. He also had an assist on Jordan Kyrou's game-tying goal with a little over five minutes left in regulation. Ivan Barbashev had a goal and an assist as well in the win. Hoffman had a slow start to the year, but he's sitting on six points in six games for the month with 23 shots. The Kitchener, Ontario native is a proven goal-scorer in the league and shouldn't be floating on the waiver wire, especially while he's on a hot streak.
