Tomas Tatar Moves to Switzerland

Veteran winger Tomas Tatar has signed a two-year deal with Swiss club EV Zug. The 34-year-old spent the 2024-25 campaign with the New Jersey Devils after signing a one-year, $1.8 million contract last offseason. His return to Europe is not a big loss for New Jersey, considering Tatar managed only 17 points (seven goals, 10 assists) in 74 appearances this season, marking his lowest scoring total over his 12 full NHL campaigns. Tatar started out his career with the Detroit Red Wings and suited up for six teams, making 927 regular-season appearances. He ranks 11th among all Slovakian players in league history with 496 points (227 goals, 269 assists).

Tomas Tatar Available For Saturday's Matinee

New Jersey Devils left wing Tomas Tatar (personal) is available for Saturday's matchup against the New York Rangers. The veteran forward missed Thursday's practice due to personal reasons but was back on the ice on Friday. Tatar is projected to work on the third line on Saturday, joining Ondrej Palat and Justin Dowling. After returning to New Jersey on a one-year deal in the offseason, Tatar has had a limited impact with the team, scoring seven goals and 17 points in 69 games. He has finished scoreless in 12 of his last 14 appearances.

Tomas Tatar Returns From Two-Game Absence

New Jersey Devils left wing Tomas Tatar (lower body) is ready to end a brief two-game absence on Friday versus Seattle. Tatar will line up with Dawson Mercer and Erik Haula (undisclosed) on the third line. The latter is good to go for the contest after missing Tuesday's practice. Tatar's role is limited on the team, but he's been productive in his recent outings, posting four points (one goal, three assists) in five appearances. His work across the season includes three goals and six assists in 26 games.

Tomas Tatar Remains Out On Monday

New Jersey Devils left wing Tomas Tatar (lower body) will miss a second consecutive game on Monday versus the Rangers. He sustained a lower-body injury on Friday against Detroit. Tatar's efforts include three goals and six assists in 23 games this season. Shane Bowers replaced Tatar in the lineup on Saturday against Washington, but he has been sent back to the AHL. Mike Hardman and Nathan Legare were called up from the minors in a corresponding move. Both players are expected to play against the Rangers, but they won't have big roles.

Tomas Tatar Suffers A Lower-Body Injury

New Jersey Devils left wing Tomas Tatar exited Friday's 5-4 victory over Detroit with a lower-body injury. Tatar played only three minutes in the contest but managed to grab a power-play assist before getting hurt. That's now six assists and nine points in 26 games for him this season. With New Jersey back in action on Saturday night against Washington, Tatar might have to sit out his first game of the campaign. The Slovakian forward doesn't play a big role for New Jersey, averaging 10:46 of ice time on the fourth line. Shane Bowers is in line to fill in for Tatar if he can't play on Saturday.

Tomas Tatar Trade To Kraken

The Seattle Kraken have acquired winger Tomas Tatar from the Colorado Avalanche in exchange for a 2024 fifth-round draft pick. Tatar didn't really fit with the Avs, as he totaled just nine points (one goal, eight assists) in 27 games while playing in a depth role. With the Kraken, Tatar has a chance to see more ice time and some powerplay time as well, as Seattle usually shuffles their forwards around as they see fit. He isn't a good fantasy option right now, but after posting 48 points in 82 games last year, he is someone to watch in deeper leagues.

Tomas Tatar Hands Out Two Assists Monday

Colorado Avalanche winger Tomas Tatar recorded two assists in Monday's 5-1 victory against Seattle. He had a power-play helper on a Ross Colton strike and assisted Cale Makar during even-strength play. Tatar's life in Denver has been rough, as he's struggled to make a positive impact and has yet to score in 13 outings. He also had just four assists for the season before Monday's action. The team will need him to up his productivity, especially after Artturi Lehkonen (upper body) dropped out of the lineup for an extended period.

Tomas Tatar Could Miss His First Game Of The Season

New Jersey Devils winger Tomas Tatar (undisclosed) is a game-time decision for Wednesday's matchup against Detroit. He has yet to miss a game this season, but could be out for the first time after sitting out Tuesday's practice. The 32-year-old has carved out a nice role for himself this term on Nico Hischier's line, and sitting on 22 points through 37 games, Tatar is already just eight points away from matching his last season's output. Hischier also missed Tuesday's practice session, with head coach Lindy Ruff saying that both players had a maintenance day and are available for Wednesday's game, but the mood has changed in 24 hours.

Tomas Tatar Continues Hot Run On Top Line

New Jersey Devils winger Tomas Tatar bagged a goal and an assist as the team took down Arizona 4-2 on Saturday. He opened the scoring with his third marker of the campaign and logged a helper on a Jack Hughes strike. Tatar finished with a plus-two rating for the game and recorded two shots in total across 16:15 of action. The Czech winger has heated up on the first line, putting together a career-high seven-game point streak. He's now on 10 points for the whole campaign, and there should be plenty more to come for Tatar, with New Jersey's regular first-line left wing Ondrej Palat (groin) on the shelf for up to 10 weeks.

Tomas Tatar Snaps Out Of Slump Thursday

New Jersey Devils left-winger Tomas Tatar finally got on the board Thursday night for New Jersey. The forward snapped a five-game point drought with a goal and an assist. Tatar also had two takeaways to go with the two shots on goal. The left winger is now up to six goals and 14 points in 28 games on the season. While he is still way off from his point totals during the first two years in Montreal, Tatar is looking like a solid middle-six forward who can occasionally move up and down the lines to provide offense. The winger could go on another one of those mini-point streaks.

Tomas Tatar Scores Again On Thursday

New Jersey Devils left-winger Tomas Tatar converted another golden opportunity into a goal on Thursday night versus the Minnesota Wild. Tatar took a breakout pass from Dougie Hamilton and beat Kaapo Kahkonen 7:40 into the second period. That pulled New Jersey to within one goal. This marked the second time in as many games that Tatar scored a goal. Also, the winger had four shots on goal and three scoring chances. This was while playing a little over 13 minutes. It does seem Tatar is more effective with middle-six minutes while being deployed over 60% in the offensive zone. Imagine that.

Tomas Tatar Returns To Lineup On First Line

Montreal Canadiens winger Tomas Tatar (lower body) will return to the lineup for Thursday's battle with Toronto. The Slovakian winger has missed the past five games. He will join Phillip Danault and Cole Caufield on the first line. Tatar boasts 10 goals and 30 points in 46 games for the season with 77 shots and 58 hits. He's a decent piece to pick up for the final few games of the season. Tatar has averaged a point per game in five appearances against the Maple Leafs in 2020-21. Cayden Primeau will be the man between the pipes Thursday night.

Tomas Tatar Strikes Twice Against Toronto

Montreal Canadiens winger Tomas Tatar potted two goals in Monday's 4-2 victory over Toronto, opening and finishing the scoring. A power-play tally by Nick Suzuki and Josh Anderson's 15th goal of the season fit in between. Tatar, who skates on a line with Phillip Danault and Paul Byron, has quietly been very good in recent weeks, gabbing five goals and 11 points in his past 11 games. He's up to 10 goals and 27 points for the season in 38 games with 66 shots and 50 hits. Montreal has three favorable matchups to close out the week with a pair of games against Calgary and a home contest versus Ottawa coming up, so Tatar should be able to keep up his good form.

Tomas Tatar Extends Point Streak With Pair Of Assists

Montreal Canadiens winger Tomas Tatar handed out two assists in Thursday's 4-1 win over Ottawa, taking his point streak to five games. He helped Phillip Danault and Brendan Gallagher to get on the scoreboard. The latter has now scored in three straight contests and Danault boasts three consecutive multi-point outings, so the line is currently working very well. Tatar has picked up 23 points in 32 games this season with 58 shots. He has delivered 39 hits and owns a solid plus-11 rating. Montreal's top line will look to do some damage against Ottawa again on Saturday.

Tomas Tatar Sparks Canadiens To Victory On Saturday

Montreal Canadiens forward Tomas Tatar registered a goal and added an assist as his team claimed a 5-4 shootout victory over the Vancouver Canucks on Saturday. In addition to posting his third multi-point effort of the campaign, the 30-year-old also recorded the game-winning marker in the shootout, a plus-three rating, one shot and one hit in 18:37 of ice time in the contest. It's been a fine first half for Tatar in what could be his final season in Montreal (unrestricted free agent this summer) - having collected 20 points (six goals, 14 assists), a plus-six rating, 54 shots and 38 hits through 30 games. Just 44% owned in Yahoo! leagues, Tatar will look to build some momentum when the Habs host the Oilers on Monday night.
