Jordan Eberle To Remain Out On Wednesday

Seattle Kraken right wing Jordan Eberle (lower body) will miss a third consecutive game on Wednesday versus Nashville. The veteran forward was injured last week in a game against Chicago. Eberle's efforts have resulted in six goals and five assists across 17 appearances this season. Daniel Sprong has joined the top-six group as Eberle's replacement. The Dutch winger was only recently acquired from Vancouver and hasn't yet made an impact with the team. Eberle's continued absence will also give Ben Meyers another opportunity to play on Wednesday.

Jordan Eberle Ruled Out For The Weekend

Seattle Kraken right wing Jordan Eberle (lower body) has been ruled out for this weekend's game against the New York teams. The veteran suffered a lower-body injury when he crashed into the boards in Thursday's contest versus Chicago. Through 17 games, Eberle is tied for the season-most points on the team with 11. Daniel Sprong is expected to jump into the lineup at the weekend. His second Kraken debut has been delayed due to immigration issues, but Sprong has finally joined the team. The 27-year-old was acquired in a trade with Vancouver last week. Sprong tallied 27 goals and 52 points in 82 appearances during his first stint in Seattle.

Jordan Eberle Sustains A Lower-Body Injury Thursday

Seattle Kraken right wing Jordan Eberle exited Thursday's contest against Chicago early due to a lower-body injury. He was hurt early in the second period when Eberle crashed into the boards. The veteran forward finished with 6:22 of ice time, recording two shots on goal. Eberle has been cold lately and couldn't make an impact on Thursday, either. He's now gone scoreless in six of his last seven appearances. For the season overall, Eberle has notched 11 points (six goals, five assists) in 17 games. Andre Burakovsky might get a top-six role if Eberle is out for Saturday's clash with the Islanders. If that's the case, then Seattle also needs to tweak its first power-play unit.

Philipp Grubauer Remains Out On Tuesday

Seattle Kraken goaltender Philipp Grubauer (undisclosed) is not ready to return to the lineup on Tuesday versus Columbus. He was unavailable on Friday versus Vegas after having an accident at home. Grubauer returned to practice on Monday, but Joey Daccord will make another start on Tuesday, with Ales Stezka suiting up as his backup. Daccord has clearly outplayed Grubauer so far, going 5-3-1, while the German netminder carries a 1-5-0 record. The bookmakers have made Seattle a -154 favorite for Tuesday's contest, meaning Daccord is expected to collect another victory against the Blue Jackets.

Jared McCann Scores Game-Winner On Friday

Seattle Kraken left wing Jared McCann scored the game-winning goal in overtime to power the Kraken over the Vegas Golden Knights on Friday evening. The 28-year-old scored on a breakaway and beat Adin Hill on his backhand. McCann has now scored in each of his past two games and sits with season total of seven goals through 15 games. He also sits with 10 assists and 33 shots on goal. Over his past three seasons in Seattle, McCann has scored at least 25+ goals in each of them with a career-high of 40 in the 2022 campaign. Fantasy managers should continue to rely on McCann from a scoring perspective and is worth a look in favorable matchups in DFS.

Philipp Grubauer Day-To-Day, Ales Stezka Called Up

Seattle Kraken goaltender Philipp Grubauer (undisclosed) will miss Friday's game against the Vegas Golden Knights as he deals with an injury suffered at home. The injury doesn't appear to be serious, as he was on the ice Friday morning, but it is enough to keep him out for at least one game. Ales Stezka was called up from the AHL and will back up Joey Daccord in Friday's game. If Grubauer's injury does end up being serious, Daccord would see a heavy workload.

Brandon Montour Returns To Kraken Lineup

Seattle Kraken defenseman Brandon Montour (personal) will be back on the ice Saturday versus Ottawa. He skipped Thursday's matchup against Toronto to welcome a second child to his family. Montour crushed the Canadiens in his last outing with a four-point effort, which included his first career hat trick. He has tallied nine points (four goals, five assists) in 10 games overall this season. Cale Fleury made his season debut on Thursday and will likely have to make way for Montour on Saturday. The former Florida Panther will rejoin the top-four group at the back and is also set to return to the first power-play unit, bumping Ryker Evans to the second.

Brandon Montour Will Miss Thursday's Game

Seattle Kraken defenseman Brandon Montour (personal) will not be in the lineup against Toronto on Thursday. Montour returned to Seattle due to the birth of his second child. The talented blue-liner is fresh off his first career hat trick and a four-point game. Ryker Evans is set to play a larger role at the back on Thursday and should replace Montour on the first power-play unit. The 22-year-old has been effective offensively for the team, recording six points (three goals, three assists) in 10 games.

Brandon Montour Scores First Career Hat Trick

Seattle Kraken defenseman Brandon Montour crushed it against Montreal on Tuesday night, finishing an 8-2 road win with his first career hat trick and four points. He set a new franchise record for most points scored by a defenseman in a single game. Three of his points, including two goals, came on the power play for Montour, who's only the eighth blue-liner in the past 40 years to score a natural hat trick. Montour hasn't quite found his stride with his new team, but the big performance has provided a nice boost for his stat line. The 30-year-old has scored nine points (four goals, five assists) in 10 games with 33 shots, 11 blocks, and 19 hits.

Chandler Stephenson Doubles His Points Tally With Four Assists

Seattle Kraken center Chandler Stephenson came to life with four assists in Tuesday's 8-2 demolition job against Montreal. Stephenson sat on only four points for the year and had gone three games without any points before putting on a playmaking clinic. Three of his helpers came on the power play. The 30-year-old now has one goal and seven assists for the season with 10 games played. Stephenson needs to find consistency on the second line. He has bolstered his points tally in only four games this season while struggling during even-strength play, which has resulted in a minus-five rating for him.

Matty Beniers Finishes Losing Effort With Three Points

Seattle Kraken center Matty Beniers hit top gear against the Jets on Thursday, recording two goals and an assist in a 4-3 overtime loss. Beniers opened the scoring in the game in the first period and led the charge during a comeback effort in the third frame, assisting Jordan Eberle on his sixth tally of the year and knotting things up at three at the 16:38 mark. These are Beniers' first goals of the campaign. Additionally, Beniers sits on just two assists through eight games. It's been a rough start for Beniers, but Thursday's outing should give him momentum for the next few games.

Vince Dunn Placed On Long-Term Injured Reserve

Seattle Kraken defenseman Vince Dunn (upper body) has been placed on long-term Injured Reserve. Dunn has missed one contest and will be absent for a few more, as he will be required to sit out either 24 days or 10 games. The earliest he can return is a matchup against Columbus on Nov. 12. Seattle has called up Cale Fleury for additional defensive depth. Josh Mahura practiced on the first defensive pairing with Adam Larsson on Monday. Brandon Montour has joined the first power-play unit, with Ryker Evans hopping on the second.

Vince Dunn Considered Day-To-Day

Seattle Kraken defenseman Vince Dunn (undisclosed) has been labeled as day-to-day ahead of Saturday's matchup against Calgary. Dunn missed the third period of Thursday's 6-4 win over Philadelphia, and Kraken head coach Dan Bylsma suggested it was for precautionary reasons. However, Dunn does appear to be dealing with an injury and didn't practice on Friday. The 27-year-old has already missed one game this season because of an upper-body injury. He has tallied three points (one goal, two assists) in four outings while registering 10 shots on goal and 10 blocks. If Dunn can't go against the Flames, Josh Mahura will replace him in the lineup, with Ryker Evans moving up to a top-pairing role in defense. Evans has been in good form, with four points (one goal, three assists) in five games. He would have even more fantasy value in a larger role.

Vince Dunn Exits Thursday's Action For Precautionary Reasons

Seattle Kraken defenseman Vince Dunn missed the third period of Thursday's 6-4 win over Philadelphia for precautionary reasons. Dunn sat out a game last weekend with an upper-body injury, and his early exit on Thursday left fantasy managers worrying, but luckily, he appears to be fine for Saturday's matchup against Calgary. The Kraken will also be delighted to know that Dunn isn't bothered by anything serious and is simply a bit banged up. He's second on the team with 14 blocks and has tallied three points (one goal, two assists) in four appearances this season. Dunn collected a power-play assist on Thursday before his exit.

Vince Dunn A Game-Time Call For Tuesday

Seattle Kraken defenseman Vince Dunn (upper body) is considered a game-time decision for Tuesday's clash with Nashville. He wasn't available for Sunday's matchup against Dallas but could return on Tuesday after participating in the morning skate. Before getting hurt, Dunn notched two points (one goal, one assist) with six shots on goal and six blocks in the first two games of the season. His absence allowed Josh Mahura to make his season debut on Sunday, but he will likely head to the press box on Tuesday if Dunn is ready to return.

Vince Dunn Day-To-Day With An Upper-Body Injury

Seattle Kraken defenseman Vince Dunn (upper body) is considered day-to-day. Dunn was hurt on a hard hit in Saturday's matchup against Minnesota and sat out Sunday's 2-0 loss to Dallas. However, he shouldn't miss too much time. Dunn collected points in each of his first two games of the season, tallying a goal and an assist with six shots on goal and six blocks. In Sunday's loss, Ryker Evans replaced Dunn on the top defensive pairing, with Josh Mahura entering the lineup to work on the bottom pairing. The setup will likely remain the same on Tuesday versus Nashville if Dunn isn't ready to return.

Joey Daccord Inks Five-Year Extension With Kraken

Seattle Kraken goaltender Joey Daccord has signed a five-year, $25 million extension with the club. He will complete a two-year, $2.4 million pact in 2024-25 before the new deal kicks in next season. Seattle has gotten a nice amount of value out of Daccord's current contract. He produced a 19-18-11 record last season while posting three shutouts with a 2.46 goals-against average and a .916 save percentage. However, despite the good form Daccord demonstrated last term, he was left on the bench for Tuesday's season opener behind Philipp Grubauer. The two are set for a fascinating battle for playing time. We should see both goalies in action over the weekend, as the Kraken face Minnesota and Dallas in a back-to-back situation.

Philipp Grubauer Starts For Kraken On Tuesday

Seattle Kraken goaltender Philipp Grubauer will start Tuesday's season opener against the St. Louis Blues. He gets the nod ahead of Joey Daccord, who outplayed the German last season. Grubauer finished the 2023-24 campaign with a 14-16-2 record. He started the season with four consecutive losses and will look to avoid the same fate in 2024-25. The bookmakers have Seattle as a slight favorite for Tuesday's contest, so Grubauer appears to be in a good position to make a winning start. He boasts a 4-4-2 career record against the Blues.

Jared McCann Misses Preseason Game With A Lower-Body Injury

Seattle Kraken forward Jared McCann (lower body) was a late scratch for Wednesday's preseason action against Edmonton. He left the warm-ups early, and the team announced that McCann had sustained a lower-body injury. The severity of the injury is unclear at present. Seattle will be desperate to have its top scorer available for the start of the season. McCann has led the team in goals and points during all of Kraken's three NHL campaigns. He registered 29 goals and 62 points in 80 games last season.

Oliver Bjorkstrand Good To Go For Start Of Season

Seattle Kraken right wing Oliver Bjorkstrand (undisclosed) is fully healthy for the start of the 2024-25 NHL season. The Danish winger was hurt playing for his country in Olympic qualifiers a few weeks ago, but he has shaken off the problem ahead of training camp. Bjorkstrand has been one of the Kraken's most consistent players and should be good for 50-plus points again in 2024-25. He enjoyed a career year last term with a 59-point effort across 82 games. The 29-year-old finished second in scoring and led the team with a career-high 39 assists and 25 power-play points.
