Kaapo Kakko Scores First Goal With Seattle

Seattle Kraken right wing Kaapo Kakko scored his first goal with his new club on Sunday evening during their loss to the Colorado Avalanche. Kakko scoring in the second frame on a snap shot which beat Colorado netminder Mackenzie Blackwood. Matty Beniers tallied the primary assist. Kakko finished this contest with a +1 rating, three shots on goal and five hits. This is a great sign for the former second-overall selection at it took him just three games to get on the scoresheet with his new team. Throughout this small stint, Kakko has been deployed on the top unit alongside Jaden Schwartz and Matt Beniers. Kakko could be worth a look as a streaming option if he can continue to be productive in the scoring department. He will look to continue this performance on Saturday, in Vancouver.

Yanni Gourde Returns To Kraken Lineup Thursday

Seattle Kraken center Yanni Gourde (lower body) is ready to return from a three-game absence on Thursday against Chicago. He's expected to grab a second-line role, working as the center between Jaden Schwartz and Brandon Tanev. Gourde's offensive output has been limited to five goals and nine assists in 29 games this season. However, his scoring rate has improved this month, as Gourde has averaged a point per game in four appearances. The Blackhawks share the league's worst record with Nashville and allow over three goals per game (3.16), so Gourde will be in a good position to continue his recent hot spell.

Kaapo Kakko Traded To Seattle

The Seattle Kraken have acquired right wing Kaapo Kakko in a trade with the New York Rangers. The team gave up defenseman Will Borgen, a 2025 third-round pick, and a 2025 sixth-round pick in the deal. Kakko, a former No. 2 pick, heads to the Western Conference after having a tough time with the Rangers. He's posted 131 points (61 goals, 70 assists) in 330 career games, including 14 points (four goals, 10 assists) in 30 appearances this season. Kakko gets a fresh start on a new team, but it remains to be seen if the move helps to unlock his full potential.

Yanni Gourde Absent Against Bruins

Seattle Kraken center Yanni Gourde (lower body) won't play against Boston on Thursday. He sustained a lower-body injury in Tuesday's matchup against Florida and will be out for a second time this season. The good news is that Gourde is considered day-to-day, so he shouldn't be out for long. His first chance to return comes on Saturday versus Tampa Bay. Gourde has been among the Kraken's hottest forwards lately, averaging a point per game across the last four contests. He's collected 14 points (five goals, nine assists) in 29 games throughout the season. Ryan Winterton is projected to enter the lineup as Gourde's replacement, with Brandon Tanev getting a chance to skate in a first-line role.

Yanni Gourde Misses Wednesday's Practice

Seattle Kraken center Yanni Gourde (lower body) didn't participate in Wednesday's practice. He skipped the session after suffering a lower-body injury in Tuesday's 2-1 shootout loss to Florida. Gourde collected his 14th point of the campaign via an assist in the contest. 10 of his points have come in Gourde's last 12 outings. Brandon Tanev will be in line to get extra work if Gourde isn't ready to play on Thursday versus Boston. He's done well in a limited role lately, logging two goals and five points in his last eight appearances.

Joey Daccord Faces Panthers On Tuesday

Seattle Kraken goaltender Joey Daccord (illness) will return to the crease on Tuesday versus Florida. He was unavailable on Sunday against the Rangers because of an illness. Daccord stepped aside after having won back-to-back starts. The 28-year-old has suffered only four losses since the start of last month, putting together a strong 12-6-1 record for the season. He has produced one shutout while allowing 2.50 goals with a .913 save percentage. To improve his record on Tuesday, Daccord has to find a way to keep the league's third-best offense quiet. Florida has averaged 3.75 goals a night in 2024-25.

Oliver Bjorkstrand Continues Scoring Tear With Four-Point Effort

Seattle Kraken right wing Oliver Bjorkstrand had a monster outing against the Rangers on Sunday, racking up two goals and two assists in a 7-5 victory. He became the first player in franchise history to post multiple four-point efforts with the team. Three of his points, including both goals, came in the second frame, matching Seattle's all-time record for most points scored in a single period. Following a slow start to the season, things have clicked for Bjorkstrand lately, as he's tallied five goals and 12 points in his last nine outings. The prolific run has boosted Bjorkstrand's points tally for the season to 20 (nine goals, 11 assists) through 28 appearances.

Chandler Stephenson Returns To Action Tuesday

Seattle Kraken center Chandler Stephenson (illness) will be back in the lineup on Tuesday against Carolina. He missed Saturday's 4-2 loss to San Jose due to an illness. Stephenson is among the Kraken's top scorers with 16 points (two goals, 14 assists) in 24 games. He will center the second line, flanked by Jared McCann and Brandon Tanev. Andre Burakovsky and Daniel Sprong will be scratched for Tuesday's action. Burakovsky went scoreless in 11 of 14 appearances last month and hasn't done much all season, posting nine points (one goal, eight assists) in 25 games. Sprong has recorded one goal with a minus-two rating in six appearances since rejoining the team from Vancouver on Nov. 8.

Ryker Evans  • D  •  Kraken

Ryker Evans Unavailable On Tuesday

Seattle Kraken defenseman Ryker Evans (hand) will miss his first game of the season on Tuesday against Carolina. He exits the lineup after hurting his right hand while blocking a shot in Saturday's 4-2 loss to San Jose. It's been a good campaign for Evans, who is tied for second in scoring on the team with 16 points (three goals, 13 assists) in 25 games. Jamie Oleksiak replaces Evans on the second defensive pairing on Tuesday, with Josh Mahura re-entering the lineup. Both players are limited offensively, but Oleksiak has provided plenty of blocks for fantasy managers, leading the Kraken with 53 blocks in 25 games.

Vince Dunn  • D  •  Kraken

Vince Dunn Ready To Rejoin Kraken Lineup

Seattle Kraken defenseman Vince Dunn (upper body) has been activated from long-term Injured Reserve, signaling he's ready to rejoin the lineup on Saturday against San Jose. Dunn has been out for 19 games, skating in just four contests so far this season. He's a true workhorse at the back for Seattle and should give the team a huge boost. Dunn's return will likely bump Brandon Montour back down to the second power-play unit, and he will replace Ryker Evans in the top four.

Jordan Eberle To Miss At Least Three Months

Seattle Kraken right wing Jordan Eberle (pelvis) is expected to miss at least three months after undergoing pelvic surgery on Friday, according to the team. The captain sustained this injury on Thursday, November 14, and is now likely to be placed on long-term injured reserve, given the extensive timetable he could face. Before the injury, the 34-year-old tallied six goals and five helpers through 17 games. Fantasy managers who do not have an injured reserve spot on their roster can safely drop Eberle in all redraft formats as he is likely to miss an extended period. Through his first three games sidelined, the Kraken promoted Andre Burakovsky to the top line to play alongside Jared McCann and Matty Beniers.

Vince Dunn Could Be An Option For Kraken Next Week

Seattle Kraken defenseman Vince Dunn (upper body) might be back in action next week. He will join the team for a brief two-game road trip, which begins on Saturday in L.A., but Dunn isn't quite ready to play yet. However, per Scott Malone of Root Sports, Dunn could return to the lineup later next week. An upper-body injury has kept Dunn out for 15 games. During his absence, Ryker Evans has skated in a top-four role, with Brandon Montour quarterbacking the first power-play unit. It looks like the two will handle extra work for at least three more games.

Chandler Stephenson Registers Three Assists Versus Predators

Seattle Kraken center Chandler Stephenson picked up three assists as the team overpowered Nashville in a 3-0 win on Wednesday. Following a four-assist effort on Oct. 29 against Montreal, Stephenson had recorded only two points in nine games, but he returned to form against the Predators. Stephenson sits tied for the most assists on the squad with 12 and has amassed 13 points in 20 games. While his offensive output tends to be inconsistent, Stephenson remains on track for a fourth consecutive campaign with at least 50 points. His account could get a significant boost next week when the Kraken face both Anaheim and San Jose twice.

Jordan Eberle To Remain Out On Wednesday

Seattle Kraken right wing Jordan Eberle (lower body) will miss a third consecutive game on Wednesday versus Nashville. The veteran forward was injured last week in a game against Chicago. Eberle's efforts have resulted in six goals and five assists across 17 appearances this season. Daniel Sprong has joined the top-six group as Eberle's replacement. The Dutch winger was only recently acquired from Vancouver and hasn't yet made an impact with the team. Eberle's continued absence will also give Ben Meyers another opportunity to play on Wednesday.

Jordan Eberle Ruled Out For The Weekend

Seattle Kraken right wing Jordan Eberle (lower body) has been ruled out for this weekend's game against the New York teams. The veteran suffered a lower-body injury when he crashed into the boards in Thursday's contest versus Chicago. Through 17 games, Eberle is tied for the season-most points on the team with 11. Daniel Sprong is expected to jump into the lineup at the weekend. His second Kraken debut has been delayed due to immigration issues, but Sprong has finally joined the team. The 27-year-old was acquired in a trade with Vancouver last week. Sprong tallied 27 goals and 52 points in 82 appearances during his first stint in Seattle.

Jordan Eberle Sustains A Lower-Body Injury Thursday

Seattle Kraken right wing Jordan Eberle exited Thursday's contest against Chicago early due to a lower-body injury. He was hurt early in the second period when Eberle crashed into the boards. The veteran forward finished with 6:22 of ice time, recording two shots on goal. Eberle has been cold lately and couldn't make an impact on Thursday, either. He's now gone scoreless in six of his last seven appearances. For the season overall, Eberle has notched 11 points (six goals, five assists) in 17 games. Andre Burakovsky might get a top-six role if Eberle is out for Saturday's clash with the Islanders. If that's the case, then Seattle also needs to tweak its first power-play unit.

Philipp Grubauer  • G  •  Kraken

Philipp Grubauer Remains Out On Tuesday

Seattle Kraken goaltender Philipp Grubauer (undisclosed) is not ready to return to the lineup on Tuesday versus Columbus. He was unavailable on Friday versus Vegas after having an accident at home. Grubauer returned to practice on Monday, but Joey Daccord will make another start on Tuesday, with Ales Stezka suiting up as his backup. Daccord has clearly outplayed Grubauer so far, going 5-3-1, while the German netminder carries a 1-5-0 record. The bookmakers have made Seattle a -154 favorite for Tuesday's contest, meaning Daccord is expected to collect another victory against the Blue Jackets.

Jared McCann Scores Game-Winner On Friday

Seattle Kraken left wing Jared McCann scored the game-winning goal in overtime to power the Kraken over the Vegas Golden Knights on Friday evening. The 28-year-old scored on a breakaway and beat Adin Hill on his backhand. McCann has now scored in each of his past two games and sits with season total of seven goals through 15 games. He also sits with 10 assists and 33 shots on goal. Over his past three seasons in Seattle, McCann has scored at least 25+ goals in each of them with a career-high of 40 in the 2022 campaign. Fantasy managers should continue to rely on McCann from a scoring perspective and is worth a look in favorable matchups in DFS.

Philipp Grubauer Day-To-Day, Ales Stezka Called Up

Seattle Kraken goaltender Philipp Grubauer (undisclosed) will miss Friday's game against the Vegas Golden Knights as he deals with an injury suffered at home. The injury doesn't appear to be serious, as he was on the ice Friday morning, but it is enough to keep him out for at least one game. Ales Stezka was called up from the AHL and will back up Joey Daccord in Friday's game. If Grubauer's injury does end up being serious, Daccord would see a heavy workload.

Brandon Montour  • D  •  Kraken

Brandon Montour Returns To Kraken Lineup

Seattle Kraken defenseman Brandon Montour (personal) will be back on the ice Saturday versus Ottawa. He skipped Thursday's matchup against Toronto to welcome a second child to his family. Montour crushed the Canadiens in his last outing with a four-point effort, which included his first career hat trick. He has tallied nine points (four goals, five assists) in 10 games overall this season. Cale Fleury made his season debut on Thursday and will likely have to make way for Montour on Saturday. The former Florida Panther will rejoin the top-four group at the back and is also set to return to the first power-play unit, bumping Ryker Evans to the second.
