Rangers, Ryan Lindgren Agree On One-Year Deal

New York Rangers defenseman Ryan Lindgren has signed a one-year, $4.5 million deal with the club. The 26-year-old restricted free agent was set for a salary arbitration hearing on Friday before getting a new contract sorted out. Lindgren has spent his entire NHL career with the Rangers, suiting up in 333 regular-season games. He has notched 80 points (10 goals, 70 assists) with 341 shots on goal, 465 blocks, and 514 hits. Lindgren rarely does anything flashy but plays an efficient game, evident by a plus-99 rating for his career. He has struck up a successful partnership with the Rangers' No. 1 blue-liner Adam Fox. The two are now poised to continue to roll together in 2024-25.

Ryan Lindgren To Miss A Few Weeks

New York Rangers defenseman Ryan Lindgren will be sidelined for a few weeks due to a lower-body injury suffered in Sunday's 5-2 win over the New York Islanders. The blueliner was injured when he fell awkwardly with Islanders center Jean-Gabriel Pageau late in the second period. The injury is reportedly not as serious as initially feared and the rugged defenseman is expected to make a full recovery. The team recalled defenseman Brandon Scanlin from AHL Hartford while the newly acquired Chad Ruhwedel is expected to take Lindgren's spot in the lineup for his first action with the Rangers since being acquired on the March 8 trade deadline. Lindgren has recorded two goals and 13 points along with 100 hits and 88 blocks across 66 games this season.

Ryan Lindgren Out For "Few Weeks"

New York Rangers defenseman Ryan Lindgren (lower body) has been ruled out for "a few weeks." He was injured at the weekend in a game against the Islanders, leaving the Rangers without their second top-four defenseman. Jacob Trouba (lower body) is also currently out of commission. Braden Schneider has received a larger role on the Rangers' blue line lately due to Trouba's absence. Chad Ruhwedel is expected to be Lindgren's replacement in the lineup on Tuesday versus Winnipeg.

Ryan Lindgren Suffers Leg Injury Versus Islanders

New York Rangers defenseman Ryan Lindgren suffered an apparent leg injury in Sunday's 5-2 win over the Islanders. He took an awkward fall in the second period following a hit from Islanders forward Jean-Gabriel Pageau and couldn't put weight on his left leg. The hardworking blue-liner had an assist in 13.06 minutes of action before exiting the game. It looks like Lindgren is facing another spell on the sidelines after previously missing two games this season. He has totaled an underwhelming 13 points (two goals, 11 assists) in 66 appearances, but Lindgren's impact defensively is hugely important. The 26-year-old leads all defensemen on the team with a plus-19 rating and has registered 100 hits and 88 blocks.

Ryan Lindgren Good To Go Tuesday

New York Rangers defenseman Ryan Lindgren (face) will be in the lineup on Tuesday against Dallas. The Rangers lost Lindgren in their previous game against the Islanders when an opposition stick bloodied him, but he's ready to go on Tuesday after having 10 stitches to fix his face. He will assume his regular role on the first defensive pairing next to Adam Fox. Lindgren plays a solid defensive game and has contributed two goals and eight assists offensively in 53 games.

Ryan Lindgren Hurt In Sunday's Win

New York Rangers defenseman Ryan Lindgren suffered an upper-body injury in Sunday's 6-5 overtime win against the Islanders. Lindgren had an assist in the Stadium Series game but couldn't thoroughly enjoy the victory after taking a stick to the face from Islanders defenseman Alexander Romanov, which forced him to exit the game early in the third period. More info on Lindgren's injury is expected on Tuesday. Health issues have accompanied Lindgren throughout the season, and it looks like he might have to spend another stint on the sidelines. The 28-year-old has totaled 10 points (two goals, eight assists) in 53 games in 2023-24 with 52 shots, 85 hits, and 67 blocks.

Ryan Lindgren To Return Monday

New York Rangers defenseman Ryan Lindgren (upper body) will return to action Monday against the visiting Colorado Avalanche. The rugged blue-liner left a Jan. 26 game against the Vegas Golden Knights early and did not play one night later versus the Ottawa Senators. However, with the Rangers enjoying a bye week followed by the All-Star break, the veteran has had significant time to heal. The defensive-minded Lindgren has just two goals and seven points in 47 games on the season but also has 54 hits and 60 blocks on his ledger. His 19:20 of average ice time per game is up from last season. He has started a career-high 61.7% of his shifts in the defensive zone this season, helping lead to a decline in offensive production.

Ryan Lindgren Hurt In Friday's Game

New York Rangers defenseman Ryan Lindgren sustained an upper-body injury in Friday's matchup against Vegas. He was able to take only four shifts, logging 2:35 of ice time. The team didn't provide an update on him after the game, leaving Lindgren's status murky for Saturday's affair versus Ottawa. Lindgren provides a big body at the back that has soaked in 60 blocks in 47 games this season. He has also registered 54 hits while contributing two goals and five assists in the attack. Zac Jones could get a chance to make his 16th appearance of the season on Saturday as Lindgren's replacement.

Ryan Lindgren Suffers An Upper-Body Injury

New York Rangers defenseman Ryan Lindgren exited Sunday's 4-3 shootout win over the Blue Jackets with an upper-body injury. He was hurt early in the third period on a hit by Columbus forward Sean Kuraly. The severity of the issue isn't known, but Lindgren will get extended time to get healthy for the next game, as the Rangers won't be back on the ice until Saturday. Lindgren's season has already been interrupted by one injury, which kept him out for one contest. He's had a quiet year so far with one point, 14 blocks, and 17 hits in 13 appearances.

Ryan Lindgren A Game-Time Call On Monday

New York Rangers defenseman Ryan Lindgren (upper body) is considered a game-time decision for Monday's outing versus the Coyotes. Lindgren was unavailable for the team's previous game against Columbus and could now miss a second consecutive tilt. Zac Jones made his season debut Saturday in Lindgren's absence, while Erik Gustafsson replaced him on the first defensive pairing. Gustafsson finished a 5-3 loss with a goal and an assist, and he should be a good short-term pickup for fantasy managers if Lindgren remains unavailable.

Ryan Lindgren Sidelined By Upper-Body Injury

New York Rangers defenseman Ryan Lindgren missed Saturday's matchup against Columbus with an upper-body injury. Lindgren practiced on Friday and was part of the morning skate on Saturday but was taken out of the lineup. He reportedly injured his hand in the team's season opener on Thursday versus Buffalo. Lindgren was badly missed Saturday as the Rangers got crushed 5-3 on the road, although his replacement on the top defensive pairing, Erik Gustafsson, had a great game with a goal and an assist. The Swedish blue-liner will likely fill in for Lindgren again on Monday versus Arizona if he can't make it back.

Ryan Lindgren A Game-Time Decision Against New Jersey

New York Rangers defenseman Ryan Lindgren (upper body) is a game-time decision for Thursday's game against New Jersey. He's featured just once so far this season and Rangers head coach Gerard Gallant doesn't sound too optimistic regarding Lindgren's availability for the contest, but he also hasn't ruled out the 25-year-old rearguard. Niko Mikkola has gotten a much larger role on the first defensive pairing in Lindgren's absence, but he has remained a non-factor in fantasy hockey.

Ryan Lindgren Back For Rangers Tuesday

New York Rangers defenseman Ryan Lindgren (upper body) will be back in action Tuesday against Carolina. The 25-year-old has been unavailable for 11 games, trying to work his way back from an upper-body injury. Lindgren will be reunited with Adam Fox on the first defensive pairing. He has skated in 57 games this season, posting 17 points, 69 shots on net, 64 hits and 87 blocks with a team-best plus-27 rating. Niko Mikkola will drop down to the third pairing, while Ben Harpur will come out of the lineup completely.

Ryan Lindgren Remains Out On Sunday

New York Rangers defenseman Ryan Lindgren (upper body) will sit out a seventh straight game Sunday versus Pittsburgh. He hasn't played since Feb. 25 and will get his next chance to return Tuesday against Washington. Lindgren has tallied only 17 points in 57 games this season, but he has been a big presence on the defensive end and boasts an outstanding plus-27 rating. In Lindgren's absence, Niko Mikkola has accompanied Adam Fox on the first defensive pairing. The Finnish rearguard is also offensively limited but can offer fantasy managers defensive stats. He led the team with eight hits and five blocked shots in Saturday's 2-1 overtime win against Buffalo.

Ryan Lindgren Questionable For Wednesday

New York Rangers defenseman Ryan Lindgren (upper body) is considered questionable for Wednesday's matchup against Philadelphia. He wasn't available for Sunday's clash with Los Angeles and could miss a second consecutive game. Niko Mikkola joined Adam Fox on the first defensive pairing against the Kings and is set to play a big part again Wednesday if Lindgren remains out. With K'Andre Miller also missing due to a suspension, there's a chance for other blue-liners to step up as well

Ryan Lindgren Hurt Against Washington

New York Rangers defenseman Ryan Lindgren suffered an upper-body injury in Saturday's game against Washington. He was hurt on a hit by Washington's T.J. Oshie in the first period and logged only three minutes of action in the game. Lindgren is a top-pairing defenseman for the Rangers and has notched 17 points in 57 games with 64 hits, 87 blocks and a plus-27 rating. Rangers head coach Gerard Gallant called Lindgren day-to-day after the game. The team will be back on the ice Sunday versus Los Angeles.

Ryan Lindgren Logs Three Points Against Ottawa

New York Rangers defenseman Ryan Lindgren picked up three assists in a 3-1 win over the Ottawa Senators Wednesday. The Burnsville, Minnesota native now has eight assists and has yet to score a goal this season. He has 31 shots on goal and averages under 18 minutes of total ice time per game. Lindgren plays alongside Adam Fox on the Ranger's top defenseman pairing. Lindgren plays a key role for New York, but he isn't a huge factor in fantasy hockey.

Ryan Lindgren Ends Productive Outing With Injury

New York Rangers defenseman Ryan Lindgren collected two assists in Saturday's 4-3 loss to Edmonton, but he also suffered an upper-body injury. The 24-year-old was injured in the third period in a collision with Edmonton's Ryan Nugent-Hopkins. Lindgren ended up with 16:01 of ice time and added one shot and two blocks to his stat line with two penalty minutes and one hit. He will be considered day-to-day for now. Lindgren is really only useful for fantasy managers who need hits and blocks, but he's an important piece for the Rangers and there's going to be a shake-up on the first defensive pairing if he has to miss time. Both K'Andre Miller and Libor Hajek got a chance to skate with Adam Fox when Lindgren missed a pair of games earlier in the month.

Ryan Lindgren Out Sunday

New York Rangers defenseman Ryan Lindgren (upper body) will miss Sunday's contest against Detroit. He was injured Thursday versus Boston and his participation in the game was previously already very doubtful. Libor Hajek is set to replace Lindgren, who heads to the shelf with two points, 28 blocks and 17 hits to his name from the season. The team considers Lindgren day-to-day, so he shouldn't miss a lot of time. He will get his first opportunity to return in the Battle of New York against the Islanders on Tuesday.

Ryan Lindgren Suffers An Upper-Body Injury

New York Rangers defenseman Ryan Lindgren suffered an upper-body injury in Thursday's 5-2 loss to Boston. He was able to play just 3:09 before exiting after taking a late hit from Bruins winger David Pastrnak. Lindgren is sitting on an eight-game scoring drought and has only two points for the season, but he's a huge presence on the Rangers blue line and will be sorely missed if he's set to spend an extended time on the sidelines. The 24-year-old is second on the team in hits (17) and blocks (28). The Rangers will now be off until Sunday and we should more about Lindgren's injury prior to the team's clash with the Red Wings.
