Matty Beniers Finishes Losing Effort With Three Points

Seattle Kraken center Matty Beniers hit top gear against the Jets on Thursday, recording two goals and an assist in a 4-3 overtime loss. Beniers opened the scoring in the game in the first period and led the charge during a comeback effort in the third frame, assisting Jordan Eberle on his sixth tally of the year and knotting things up at three at the 16:38 mark. These are Beniers' first goals of the campaign. Additionally, Beniers sits on just two assists through eight games. It's been a rough start for Beniers, but Thursday's outing should give him momentum for the next few games.

Matty Beniers Signs Seven-Year Extension With Kraken

Seattle Kraken center Matty Beniers has committed his long-term future to the franchise, inking a seven-year extension. The two sides came to an agreement on a deal that's worth close to $50 million, with the average annual value of the contract standing at $7.14 million. Beniers needed a new contract after having completed his entry-level deal. The 21-year-old has enjoyed a fruitful start to his NHL career, recording 103 points (42 goals, 61 assists) in 167 games. Beniers won the Calder Memorial Trophy as the league's best rookie in 2022-23. However, with the team struggling, Beniers' productivity dipped from 0.71 points per game to 0.48 last term. He will aim to produce a bounce-back year in 2024-25 under new head coach Dan Bylsma.

Matty Beniers Posts Season-High Three Points In Victory

Seattle Kraken center Matty Beniers finished with a goal and two assists in Thursday's 4-1 victory against the Bruins. The three-point night was the first of the season for Beniers, who has struggled with consistency throughout his third year in the league. The 21-year-old has scored a goal in consecutive games after going pointless in seven straight games prior to the stretch, while the young center has totaled eight goals and 23 points through 49 games to limit his fantasy value in standard redraft formats.

Matty Beniers Set To Return On Friday

Seattle Kraken center Matty Beniers (upper body) has been activated from Injured Reserve ahead of Friday's matchup against St. Louis. He's set to make his first appearance since Jan. 13. Beniers has totaled six goals and 13 assists in 42 games during his sophomore season. His scoring rate has dropped nearly 0.30 compared to his rookie year. The young centerman hasn't been consistent, but Beniers is among Seattle's most talented players and should be capable of putting together a much stronger second half of the season.

Matty Beniers Nursing An Upper-Body Problem

Seattle Kraken center Matty Beniers couldn't complete Saturday's game against Columbus due to an upper-body problem. He skipped the third period, finishing with zero points in 11:04 of ice time. The 21-year-old has struggled to stay productive during his sophomore campaign, posting only 19 points (six goals, 13 assists) in 42 games. If Beniers can't recover quickly, he will miss his first game of the season on Monday against Pittsburgh. Seattle also lost Andre Burakovsky (lower body) on Saturday, meaning there could be quite a few significant tweaks in the Kraken attack on Monday.

Matthew Beniers Has Two Assists In Tuesday's Win

Seattle Kraken center Matthew Beniers picked up two assists in Tuesday's 5-2 victory over Anaheim, helping Jamie Oleksiak and Jared McCann on the scoreboard in the first period. It's his fifth multi-point performance across his last 10 appearances. Beniers has topped the rookie scoring charts throughout the season and now finds himself on 19 goals and 47 points for the year. With McCann red-hot next to him, Beniers should continue to rack up the points regularly until the end of the season.

Matthew Beniers Out For At Least Two Games

Seattle Kraken center Matthew Beniers (upper body) has been ruled out until the All-Star break, meaning he is set to miss at least two games. The league's top-scoring rookie suffered an upper-body injury Wednesday versus Vancouver and Beniers hasn't been able to practice since then. Ryan Donato has been skating in his spot ahead of Friday's matchup against Calgary, with Brandon Tanev earning a promotion to the second line. Donato has put together a three-game point streak in a limited role with four goals and one assist, and he could be a nice short-term addition for fantasy teams. He has managed 12 goals and 20 points in 40 games overall this season despite averaging less than 11:30 of ice time.

The 20-year-old has so far played every game this season but is now in danger of missing his first contest Friday against Calgary. Beniers has been stuck in a rut lately, going scoreless in five straight games, but he's the top-scoring rookie in the league with 36 points in 47 games. Yanni Gourde could be set for a move into the top six if Beniers is unavailable for the next game.

The five-game goal streak marks a new franchise record. Beniers' goal-scoring run also includes four multi-point efforts, which have given his points tally a major boost. He has already topped the scoring charts among first-year players for most of the season, but the 20-year-old now also has a comfortable lead with 34 points in 40 games. Seattle Kraken center Matthew Beniers is in the middle of a hot stretch and will enter Thursday's clash versus Minnesota sitting on a five-game point streak. Beniers has made a very special start to his career in the NHL, going scoreless just four times in his first 21 regular-season appearances. Matthew Beniers Joins Special List With Another Point

Seattle Kraken center Matthew Beniers continued his impressive start in the NHL with an assist in Thursday's 4-1 win in Los Angeles, becoming only the third teenager in league history to grab at least a point in 11 of his first 12 appearances. In total, there had been just five players who managed to do it before him. Bernier made his league debut near the end of last season and went on a five-game scoring streak straight away. He ended up finishing without a point just once and registered three goals and eight assists in total across 10 games. Seattle's first-ever draft selection has opened the 2022-23 campaign with one goal and two assists in two outings. Beniers is still available in plenty of fantasy leagues and managers should scoop him up before it's too late.

Seattle Kraken center Matthew Beniers has started his NHL career with a three-game point streak and will look to extend it further on Wednesday against Western Conference powerhouse Colorado. The second pick of last year's draft has tallied two goals and an assist with seven shots on goal and three hits. He centers the top line for the team and also eats up minutes on the first power-play unit. The University of Michigan standout looks set for a great future and is already making noise in the league. Fantasy managers should definitely keep an eye on the 19-year-old.
