Matthew Wood Fantasy Stats

Forward Matthew Wood was traded from the Nashville Predators to the Seattle Kraken on Sunday in exchange for forward Shane Wright. The Predators decided to part ways with Wood after seeing his game stagnate this season. After a 30-point campaign, he's totaled only three points (one goal, two assists) in 14 games. Wright has also struggled to find form, so this transaction could benefit everyone involved. Wood is finishing his entry-level contract this season and will be a restricted free agent next summer unless the Kraken agree to a new deal with him.

Nashville Predators right wing Matthew Wood celebrated his first career hat trick in Monday's 6-3 road loss to the New York Rangers. He had a pair of power-play goals and an even-strength marker. Blake Geoffrion was previously the only rookie in Predators history to post a hat trick in a regular-season contest. Wood also became only the second Predators player to score a goal in each of his first three road games of a season. Following Monday's outing, Wood is on a run of nine points (six goals, three assists) in seven games. In total, the 20-year-old has bagged six goals and 10 points in 11 games for his rookie campaign. Few expected Wood to have a significant impact in 2025-26, yet right now, only three first-year players have been more offensively productive than him.
