Jared McCann News
Seattle Kraken forward Jared McCann potted his first goal of the 2023 Stanley Cup Playoffs in Thursday's 5-2 loss to Dallas. After falling behind 3-0, McCann helped the Kraken get the deficit to one goal, but the team couldn't add any more goals and will now face elimination in the next game. Seattle has had an incredible postseason run, considering their regular-season top scorer played in only his sixth playoff contest Thursday. McCann has failed to replicate his regular-season form in the playoffs, notching only two points, but he will get at least one more opportunity to try to do so, with Game 6 in the series coming up on Saturday.
Seattle Kraken forward Jared McCann could be back in the lineup Tuesday for Game 4 against Dallas, with head coach Dave Hakstol announcing that McCann will take part in the warmups to determine if he feels well enough to play. Incredibly, the Kraken find themselves just two wins away from a Western Conference Finals spot despite missing a 40-goal scorer. McCann had a career year during the regular season and finished with 70 points in total. He was quiet in the playoff before getting hurt, notching only one point across four outings.
Seattle Kraken forward Jared McCann (undisclosed) won't be available for Sunday's Game 3 against Dallas. He skated in Saturday's practice, but Seattle's top goal-scorer is still recovering from an undisclosed injury that he suffered in Game 4 of the first-round series against Colorado. McCann, who posted 40 goals and 30 assists during the regular season, has been a huge miss for the Kraken, but the team has found a way to be competitive without him, going 3-2 in the five games McCann has missed. Tye Kartye has replaced McCann on the first line, scoring two goals on five shots and registering an impressive plus-four rating.
Seattle Kraken forward Tye Kartye is set to make his NHL debut on the first line Wednesday against Colorado. The Kraken's top-line center Jared McCann (undisclosed) was injured in Game 4 of the first-round series and won't be available Wednesday, paving the way for Kartye to jump into the lineup. The 21-year-old has enjoyed a very good campaign with the Coachella Valley Firebirds in the AHL and was voted the league's Rookie of the Year after putting up 28 goals and 29 assists in 72 appearances. A spot on the first line gives Kartye a great opportunity to make an instant impact in the big league as well.
