DraftKings DFS Showdown
Thursday Night Football has been a mixed bag so far this season. However, tonight looks on paper to be a cracker with division implications. Washington travels to Philadelphia with both teams on seven wins in the NFC East. The Commanders have one more loss, sitting at 7-3, so a win for them seems more important. The game is a rivalry, so both will have a win on their minds, whatever their record reads.
The Commanders’ game-winning streak ended against Pittsburgh, a game they should have won. After an average start, the Eagles have won five on the bounce, beating the Cowboys convincingly in Week 10. With the total set at 48.5, Vegas expects points, with the Eagles -3.5, so it will be a close game. With that information, here are my best plays for Week 11 of TNF.

Captain
QB Jalen Hurts ($16,500)
After an inconsistent start to the season, Jalen Hurts is starting to hit the high fantasy point total we have become accustomed to. In his last four games, Hurts is averaging 29.87 fantasy points on DraftKings. The rushing touchdowns are coming, eight in the previous four games, which is why his points are much higher. He has a high ceiling in this game, but he can also see running back Saquan Barkley eating into those points. If you are playing multiple line-ups, feel free to go against him as captain in some.
RB Saquon Barkley ($15,900)
On the opposite side of Hurts, running back Saquon Barkley has been picking up a decent amount of points while only scoring three touchdowns in his last four games. Despite that, Barkley is averaging 22.6 fantasy points in his previous four, including a below-par 8.8 points against Dallas in Week 10. The Eagles’ standout offensive player is doing it with fewer receptions and touchdowns than other top running backs in the league. The Commanders are ranked No. 20 in points allowed to running backs this season.
WR Terry McLaurin ($13,500)
If Washington wants to win this game, they may heavily rely on Jayden Daniels’ arm talent. His No.1 target this season is ‘Scary” Terry McLaurin, who had 113 receiving yards against the Steelers this past Sunday. Whether it’s yards or touchdowns that get him there, McLaurin is a consistent scorer at around the 15-23 point mark. A cheaper option than the two above, but it’s also possible he could have a breakout game against the Eagles.
FLEX
QB Jayden Daniels ($10,400)
The Eagles are ranked No. 4 in points allowed to opposing quarterbacks this season, which might make Jayden Daniels a low-owned player on the TNF Showdown. Seems silly to say that, but coming off just 8.58 fantasy points against the Steelers adds more doubts to DFS players. Daniels looks boom or bust in the last four games, but we know he can hit those big numbers on any occasion. Enough to consider the Washington QB despite the worries around him.
WR A.J. Brown ($10,000)
As mentioned when speaking about Eagles QB Jalen Hurts, he has taken a chunk of the touchdowns away from players over the last four games. If that changes, players like Barkley and A.J. Brown will benefit. Against Dallas, he caught five receptions for 109 yards without a touchdown. Since his return from injury in Week 6, he has led the team in targets. The Washington defense gave up three touchdown receptions against the Steelers last weekend.
RB Austin Ekeler ($8,000)
The Eagles’ defense against the run has been good, ranked No.5 in the league. That makes it likely that not many are touching the Commander’s running back room. Austin Ekeler may move to the backup again with Brian Robinson set to return from injury, but he offers points via a pass catcher. This is a risky play that could make or break your line-ups.
TE Dallas Goedert ($6,600)
Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert returned in Week 10 after missing the last three games with an injury. He managed just two catches for 25 receiving yards, one of which was a touchdown. Before his injury, Goedert had 28 receptions in his first four games, including a 30 fantasy point game against the Saints in week 3. The big tight end can be Hurts’ No.1 targeted player in any game.
WR Noah Brown ($6,200)
Despite Terry McLaurin being the team’s leading receiver, Noah Brown has seen the most targets in the last two games (13). The problem with Brown is that he needs a touchdown to solidify a good fantasy score. Washington could pass the ball more against the Eagles, with the home team having a solid run defense. This opens up the door for more reception opportunities for Brown.
