Terry McLaurin News
Washington Football Team wide receiver Terry McLaurin caught six passes for 75 yards in a loss to Tampa Bay in the wild-card round. McLaurin was targeted seven times in the game as he has one of the most dependable workloads in football. The Ohio State Buckeye had just two games this season with under seven targets as the Washington pass attack runs through their second-year wideout. McLaurin had his first 1,000-yard season in 2020 and more could follow, especially if he gets some consistency at quarterback. McLaurin is a WR1 in fantasy heading into 2021.
Washington Football Team wide receiver Terry McLaurin (ankle) and rookie running back Antonio Gibson (toe) are both active for the wild-card playoff game against the Buccaneers on Saturday night. Both players were limited in practice this week and were fully expected to suit up. McLaurin has the skills to exploit this Buccaneers pass defense, but with quarterback Alex Smith (calf) out and Taylor Heinicke under center, the 25-year-old second-year pass-catcher will have a much lower fantasy ceiling in the first round as a WR1. Gibson has been impressive as the lead back in his rookie season, but he shares touches with Peyton Barber and J.D. McKissic and will be facing a Tampa defense that allowed the second-fewest fantasy points per game to the position. The 22-year-old should be seen as a low-end RB1 on wild-card weekend.
Washington Football Team wide receiver Terry McLaurin (ankle) is officially questionable for Saturday's playoff game against the Buccaneers. McLaurin fought through an ankle injury in Washington's Week 17 win over the Eagles, catching seven of eight targets for 40 yards and a touchdown. On the season, McLaurin caught 87 passes for 1,118 yards and four touchdowns establishing himself as a top-wideout in just his second NFL season. McLaurin slowed down towards the end of the year as the offense was more conservative with Alex Smith under center. Assuming Smith (calf) starts, McLaurin has a lower ceiling than normal playing through an injury with fewer downfield targets. He's a boom-or-bust WR option against a good Tampa defense.
