Fantasy Football Sunday Recap: Week 10

Fantasy Football Sunday Recap

Sound the alarms, as we have officially begun the back half of the NFL season. Chuba Hubbard, Bijan Robinson, Terry McLaurin and a variety of others gave fantasy owners plenty to cheer about. Let’s take a look at the week 10 results and storylines from the Sunday slate. The following fantasy point total mentions refer to a 4-point passing TD, standard PPR format.

Panthers 20 Giants 17 (OT)

  • Don’t look now, but the Panthers have won back-to-back games! After putting up two wins in all of last season, Carolina just claimed their third victory in 10 weeks. Chuba Hubbard (24.9 PTS) broke free for multiple explosive runs and served as the backbone of the Panthers’ offense. Tyrone Tracy Jr. (15.4 PTS) did all he could for the Giants, but the uphill climb was too steep for a New York team that lost the turnover battle 3-1.

Chiefs 16 Broncos 14

  • The Broncos were inches away from taking down the last undefeated team in the NFL, but the defending champs blocked a would-be game-winning field goal to improve to 9-0. Bo Nix (16.1 PTS) threw for multiple touchdowns for the fourth time in the last six weeks. This came after Nix failed to throw for any touchdowns through the first three weeks of play. Travis Kelce (20.4 PTS) hauled in the only Chiefs’ touchdown reception of the evening. The stage will only get brighter, as Kansas City gear up for a Bills team that is 8-2 through 10 weeks.

Vikings 12 Jaguars 7

  • Points came at a premium in this contest, but a late-game turnover boosted the Vikings to a 7-2 start. T.J. Hockenson (15.2 PTS) led all receivers with 72 receiving yards. Meanwhile, Aaron Jones (12.1 PTS) led all rushers with 88 yards in the contest. Both teams turned the ball over three times, but the Vikings outgained the Jaguars 402-143, showing their ability to move the ball with ease despite the lack of touchdowns.

Saints 20 Falcons 17

  • Not long after placing Chris Olave on the reserve, the Saints watched another one of their receivers emerge as a breakout talent. Marquez Valdes-Scantling (25.9 PTS) took three receptions for 109 yards and a pair of scores. Bijan Robinson (29.4 PTS) looked phenomenal once again, and the Falcons put up 468 yards in total. However, that only turned into 17 points, as Atlanta had trouble finishing drives.

49ers 23 Buccaneers 20

  • In a battle between a pair of 4-4 teams that were aiming to regain their footing, the 49ers were the NFC contender to come out on top. Jauan Jennings (16.3 PTS) led the San Francisco receivers with 93 receiving yards, while Christian McCaffrey (16.7 PTS) returned by putting up 107 all-purpose yards. On a day where Jake Moody missed three field goals, he nailed the most important one, a 44-yarder, as time expired in the fourth quarter.

Bills 30 Colts 20

  • The Bills now hold a five-game lead in the AFC East just 10 weeks into the season. The offense, despite giving the ball away twice, managed to put up 23 points to complement the defense’s first quarter pick six. James Cook (15.5 PTS) continued to produce as Buffalo’s lead back, churning out 4.2 yards per carry on 19 touches out of the backfield. Alec Pierce (18.1 PTS) kept on pace for his career-year, but the Colts have now dropped three straight contests.

Patriots 19 Bears 3

  • Ever since the Bears fell to the Commanders on a hail mary, they’ve gone eight straight quarters without a touchdown. The Patriots, who entered the day with a 2-7 record, capitalized by leaning on a strong run game. Rhamondre Stevenson (8.7 PTS) took 20 rushes for 74 yards, while Drake Maye (11.76 PTS) spun the ball for 184 yards, a touchdown and an interception. Despite being just 3-7 now, New England finds themselves in a tie for second place in the AFC East.

Steelers 28 Commanders 27

  • Two likely postseason contenders clashed Sunday afternoon, and the Steelers were the team to grab the nail-biter. George Pickens (20.1 PTS) led Pittsburgh’s receiving room with 91 receiving yards and a score, while Russell Wilson tossed multiple touchdowns for the second time in three games. Austin Ekeler (18.1 PTS) visited the end zone twice, but the Commanders ultimately fell for the first time in four games.

Chargers 27 Titans 17

  • Another week, another win for the turnover-free Chargers. Los Angeles quickly finds themselves at 6-3, and a balanced offense with a high conversion rate was a big reason why. Quentin Johnston (10.4 PTS) caught Justin Herbert’s lone passing touchdown. Calvin Ridley (25.4 PTS) caught a pair of touchdowns in one of his better performances this season, but the Titans have now fallen to 2-7 on the season.

Eagles 34 Cowboys 6

  • With no Dak Prescott, the Cowboys’ offensive struggles happened often and in severe fashion. Dallas logged just 146 yards of offense with five turnovers, while Philadelphia capitalized on nearly every opportunity. A.J. Brown (15.9 PTS) surpassed 100 yards receiving, while Jalen Hurts accounted for four total touchdowns. After starting the season out at 2-2, the Eagles have won five straight contests.

Cardinals 31 Jets 6

  • The Arizona Cardinals are sneakily looking like one of the most improved teams in football. Now at 6-4, Marvin Harrison Jr. (16.4 PTS) racked in 54 yards with a touchdown. Kyler Murray flexed his pinpoint accuracy, converting on 22 of his 24 passing attempts (91.7% completion rate). On the other hand, the Jets had no answer. New York’s 207 total yards of offense was indicative of their struggles.

Lions 26 Texans 23

  • Don’t say you’ve seen it all until you’ve watched a Lions game. Five interceptions on offense, 19 unanswered points and plenty of grit later, and the city of Detroit began rejoicing thanks to a triumphant, come-from-behind victory. Amon-Ra St. Brown (18.0 PTS) logged 60 receiving yards and a touchdown, as Jared Goff worked through a five-interception day. John Metchie (18.4 PTS) led the charge for Houston, but the Texans offense couldn’t find a way to score in the second half. The Lions still have the best record in the NFC at 8-1.

With week 10 giving us a greater idea of the 2024 data, look out for patterns and new storylines that continue to accumulate. Some of the best performers of this season may even be a free agent in most leagues. Stay tuned for our week 11 recap next Monday.
