Falcons Pick Up Bijan Robinson's Fifth-Year Option

The Atlanta Falcons officially picked up running back Bijan Robinson's fifth-year option on Friday, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. The move will give the Falcons more time to negotiate a deal with the star RB. The 24-year-old has been a Pro Bowler each of the last two seasons, and he had his second straight 1,400-yard rushing season with seven rushing touchdowns on 287 carries in 17 games in 2025 in his third year in the NFL. Robinson also added a career-high 79 receptions on 103 targets for 820 yards and another four scores through the air as a receiver. The former eighth overall pick in the 2023 draft out of the University of Texas is the real deal and a true workhorse for fantasy managers. He finished as the RB3 in 2025 in half-PPR scoring, behind only Christian McCaffrey and Jonathan Taylor. Even though the Falcons have a dicey QB competition this summer between the injured Michael Penix Jr. (knee) and Tua Tagovailoa, Robinson should have a very high floor because of the heavy volume he should receive. He figures to be a popular choice for the first overall fantasy pick this fall.

Bijan Robinson Could Just Be Entering His Prime

Since being selected eighth overall in the 2023 NFL Draft, Atlanta Falcons running back Bijan Robinson has looked like one of the most talented backs in the league. In 2025, that talent translated through his usage and fantasy finish, ending the year as RB2 in PPR formats. His 79 receptions for 820 yards trailed only Christian McCaffrey among NFL backs, while his 858 yards after the catch led the league across all positions. On the strength of his 99 targets in the passing game, he topped 380 opportunities for the second straight year. New head coach Kevin Stefanski and offensive coordinator Tommy Rees arrive from Cleveland, where Nick Chubb was the clear focal point of Stefanski's early Browns offenses. Former Falcon Tyler Allgeier, who has averaged over 172 opportunities of his own in the three years he shared a backfield with Robinson, has been replaced by Brian Robinson Jr., who handled exactly 100 touches as the primary backup to McCaffrey in San Francisco last season. The former Robinson is still only 24 years old and has yet to miss a game in his professional career. Barring injury, he should continue to rank among the fantasy elite for the foreseeable future.

Bijan Robinson Finally Has the Falcons' Backfield All to Himself

Atlanta Falcons running back Bijan Robinson was already an undisputed high-end RB1, but his tremendous fantasy value is growing even larger following the team's offseason moves. The Falcons' new regime, led by head coach Kevin Stefanski and president of football Matt Ryan, allowed Tyler Allgeier to depart for Arizona in free agency, leaving Robinson as the only relevant name in Atlanta's backfield. That's an unfamiliar sight for Robinson, who had spent the first three years of his NFL career losing some touches to Allgeier. We can't rule out Atlanta bringing in another running back via free agency or the draft, but for now, Robinson has the backfield all to himself. That bodes well for the 24-year-old's chances to build upon an incredible 2025 in which he tallied 1,478 rushing yards, 820 receiving yards, and 11 touchdowns. If he can recoup even half of the eight touchdowns that Allgeier vultured from him, Robinson could be the favorite to finish 2026 as the overall RB1 in all fantasy formats.

Is Bijan Robinson the Consensus No. 1 Player Across All Formats?

Three years into his NFL career, Atlanta Falcons running back Bijan Robinson has established himself as arguably the best all-around player at his position in the NFL. Across 17 games played in 2025, Robinson recorded a league-leading 2,298 scrimmage yards and 11 touchdowns on 366 touches. He made big strides as a receiver out of the backfield this past season. After failing to crack 500 receiving yards in either of his first two seasons, Robinson hauled in 79 catches for 820 yards on 103 targets in 2025. Falcons RB2 Tyler Allgeier is now set to hit free agency, which could mean Robinson is in line for more short-yardage and goal-line opportunities in 2026. Even if Allgeier returns or Atlanta brings in another back, the team's willingness to rotate running backs could be a positive for Robinson overall. He's yet to miss a game to this point in his NFL career. At just 24 years old, Robinson should have a long window of production ahead of him and profiles as a worthy 1.01 player across all fantasy formats heading into 2026.

Bijan Robinson's Heavy Workload Expected to Continue Under Kevin Stefanski

The Athletic's Josh Kendall writes that it's clear from new head coach Kevin Stefanski's past that running back Bijan Robinson can "expect his heavy workload to continue" in 2026. Kendall even thinks that Robinson's workload could increase as he enters his fourth year in the NFL. The 23-year-old led the league in scrimmage yards (2,298) in 2025, putting him firmly in the running for the Offensive Player of the Year award. Robinson has been the only player in the league with more than 1,000 combined rushes and receptions since he was drafted eighth overall in 2023. He finished behind only Christian McCaffrey and Jonathan Taylor in half-PPR points last season, carrying the ball 287 times for 1,478 yards and seven touchdowns. Robinson added 79 receptions for 820 yards and four more TDs on 103 targets over 17 games. There's an argument to be made for Robinson being the No. 1 overall pick in 2026 fantasy football drafts.

Bijan Robinson Explodes for 229 Total Yards, Two Touchdowns on Monday Night

Atlanta Falcons running back Bijan Robinson delivered an all-time performance in Monday night's win over the Los Angeles Rams, handling 22 carries for 195 yards and a touchdown to go with five catches (eight targets) for 34 yards and another touchdown as a receiver. Robinson scored the longest touchdown in Falcons history with a 93-yard score at the end of the first half, helping to produce a legendary performance for his fantasy managers in championship matchups. He forced 11 missed tackles and gained an extra 168 yards, tied for the most in any game over the last seven seasons, per Next Gen Stats. It was the superstar running back's league-leading seventh game with over 150 yards from scrimmage and second game this season with over 200 yards, with the other also coming on Monday night back in Week 6 against the Buffalo Bills. Robinson has put together a special season and will look to finish out strong in Week 18 against the New Orleans Saints.

Bijan Robinson a High-Floor, High-End RB1 for Monday Night Football

Atlanta Falcons running back Bijan Robinson is coming off the second straight week in which he's produced at least 168 total yards and a touchdown, currently sitting as a top-five running back in season-long fantasy. The 23-year-old even led the team with 11 targets in Week 16 despite the return of Drake London (knee). The work in the passing game provides the workhorse back with a high weekly floor, and he may need it in a Week 17 matchup against the Rams, who have limited opposing running backs to the fourth-fewest fantasy points this season, and are yielding just 97.3 rush yards per game over their last three (fifth-fewest). Expect the third-year pro to be heavily involved once again in a home game on Monday night, and with a high expected point total in this one (49.5), there should be plenty of scoring, making Robinson a high-end RB1 again in Week 17.

Bijan Robinson Records Monster All-Purpose Performance in Week 16

Atlanta Falcons running back Bijan Robinson dominated the Arizona Cardinals in his team's 26-19 Week 16 win. The 23-year-old recorded 16 carries for 76 yards and hauled in seven receptions for 92 yards and a touchdown on 11 targets. Across 15 games this season, Robinson has now recorded 2,026 yards from scrimmage and nine touchdowns on 321 touches. Robinson has racked up at least 107 scrimmage yards in five out of his last six games and has logged at least 88 scrimmage yards in every game but one in 2025. He may be the NFL's premier all-around back and is currently on pace to finish the season with just a shade under 2,300 yards from scrimmage. Robinson profiles as a must-start fantasy back heading into the team's Week 17 matchup against the Los Angeles Rams.

Bijan Robinson a Top Option in Favorable Matchup Against the Cardinals

Atlanta Falcons running back Bijan Robinson is coming off a productive performance in Week 15's 29-28 win over the Buccaneers, tallying 92 yards and a touchdown on the ground with an additional 82 yards gained through the air. After scoring just two touchdowns via rush through the season's first nine games (and two via pass), the 23-year-old has four rushing scores in the last five games, which is a welcome turn of events after Tyler Allgeier seemed to be eating into his goal-line opportunities. Allgeier was limited to just two rushes last week, his fewest touches since Week 9. Sunday's road matchup against the Cardinals is a favorable one for the Atlanta backfield, with Arizona yielding the fifth-most fantasy points to opposing running backs this season, including letting the Texans' Jawhar Jordan gain 101 yards on the ground in his first career game last week. Robinson projects as one of the top options at running back this week, with the likely return of Drake London (knee) elevating the offense as a whole.

Bijan Robinson Dismantles Buccaneers Defense in Week 15 Upset

Atlanta Falcons running back Bijan Robinson had 19 carries, 93 rushing yards, and one rushing touchdown during Thursday's Week 15 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He also caught eight of his 11 targets for an additional 82 receiving yards. The lone blemish on Robinson's final stat line was a fumble in the third quarter. Outside of the turnover, the former first-round pick had an enormous showing on Thursday Night Football, playing a major role in the Falcons' comeback victory. He was efficient on the ground, heavily involved and productive as a receiver, and contributed to the scoring with a nifty rushing touchdown. Unlike in some previous weeks, Robinson was able to fend off Tyler Allgeier from having much of a role in Week 15. Robinson played 90.1% of the snaps with 27 total touches, whereas Allgeier played just 16.9% of the snaps with two touches. Allgeier's 16.9% snap share was his second-lowest mark of the season, trailing only Week 3 when he played fewer than 10%. Long story short, Robinson remains the undisputed workhorse here, and he's going to play a massive role in helping managers pursue a fantasy championship over the next few weeks. He should continue to feast against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 16.
