Philadelphia Eagles safety Sydney Brown (knee) has been designated to return from the Physically Unable to Perform list on Monday. Brown has been working his way back from suffering a torn ACL in Week 18 of last season. Before that, Brown recorded 45 tackles, one forced fumble, and one interception in 14 games (six starts) with the Eagles in 2023. The 24-year-old put together a fairly solid rookie season before going down last season. He'd certainly offer the Eagles help at free safety with Reed Blankenship being their primary option right now. The Eagles still have a few weeks to ramp up Brown's activities before having to activate him or shut him down for the season.

Sydney Brown Starts On PUP List
The Philadelphia Eagles placed safety Sydney Brown (knee) on the Physically Unable to Perform list on Sunday, according to a source. It means that Brown won't be able to practice with the rest of the team for the start of training camp this summer. It's not a surprise after Brown tore his ACL in the regular-season finale last year against the New York Giants. He was a core special-teamer in his rookie campaign in 2023 and only played 335 snaps on defense despite the team having a thin secondary. In addition to his knee injury, Brown missed three games due to a hamstring injury. When he saw extended action later in the year, he was typically out of position at slot corner, filling in for Avonte Maddox and Bradley Roby. Despite tearing his ACL late last year, there's a chance the 24-year-old could be ready for the start of the regular season in Week 1 this fall.

Sydney Brown Has Surgery On ACL
Philadelphia Eagles safety Sydney Brown (knee) had successful surgery on his ACL on Saturday. Brown was drafted in the third round out of Illinois in 2023 and had a solid rookie year in the NFL for the Eagles, racking up 45 tackles (32 solo), one interception returned for a touchdown, three passes defensed and a forced fumble in 14 games played (six starts). The 23-year-old suffered a torn ACL in the Week 18 regular season finale against the New York Giants, though, which probably makes it likely that he won't be ready for the start of the 2024 regular season this fall. Once healthy later this year, Brown should be a key contributor once again for an Eagles secondary that needs to improve drastically after a late-season collapse.
