As expected, Lazard is out as he didn't make the trip to England due to personal reasons. His absence won't mean much for this offense given he has four receptions for 24 yards and one touchdown this season. Arian Smith figures to see a majority of the snaps as the third wideout. As for Herbert, he's a healthy scratch as he's too far down on this depth chart to make a serious impact. Kene Nwangwu figures to do the kick returning with Herbert out.

Per Rapoport, the team placed running back Braelon Allen (knee) on injured reserve in a corresponding move. With Allen out, and backfield mate Kene Nwangwu's (hamstring) status up in the air, it's possible that Herbert will see work right away behind starter Breece Hall and backup Isaiah Davis. The 27-year-old doesn't figure to be slated for a fantasy-relevant role, but he's at least on the deep handcuff radar in case the assets in front of him were to miss any time. The Jets will take on the Dallas Cowboys in Week 5.

The Seattle Seahawks announced on Tuesday that they signed free-agent running back Khalil Herbert to their practice squad, according to The Seattle Times' Bob Condotta. The move comes after Zach Charbonnet (foot) missed the team's blowout win over the visiting New Orleans Saints in Week 3 on Sunday. The 27-year-old Herbert will provide additional backfield depth for Seattle if Charbonnet is forced to miss more time, starting with this Thursday night's tilt against the division-rival Arizona Cardinals. With Charb out last weekend, George Holani was the primary backup to the oft-injured Kenneth Walker III. Herbert played with the Chicago Bears and Cincinnati Bengals in 2024, finishing with only 130 rushing yards and a touchdown on 36 carries while catching 10 passes for 25 yards in 14 games. He'll only find his way onto the fantasy radar if both Walker and Charbonnet are on the shelf at the same time.

Because he's unlikely to see much volume unless Taylor misses time with an injury, Herbert will mainly be a handcuff in deeper leagues for those that draft Taylor. The former sixth-rounder (217th overall) by the Bears in 2021 has averaged 4.8 yards per carry on 400 rushing attempts for 1,905 yards and nine TDs in his four years in the NFL.

Cincinnati Bengals running back Khalil Herbert got the start for the injured Chase Brown (ankle) in Saturday's crucial win over the Steelers. The 26-year-old, who was acquired by the Bengals in November, had played sparingly since arriving in Cincinnati. However, he did exactly what was needed on Saturday night, running for 69 yards off 20 carries while adding seven catches for 14 yards. The Bengals still have a shot at the postseason. But if Herbert's season is finished, he'll likely draw interest from at least a few teams in free agency. With that said, unless he gets a meaningful role in 2025-26, his fantasy upside will remain capped.
