Olamide Zaccheaus News
Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Olamide Zaccheaus has signed his tender. This is not surprising, as Zaccheaus is currently sitting atop the team's depth chart with a massive opportunity in front of him. Arguably the worst receiving corps in the league, the Falcons need someone to emerge as a reliable option for new quarterback Marcus Mariota. The 24-year-old Zaccheaus caught 31 passes on 53 targets for 406 yards and three touchdowns in 2021. With wide receiver Calvin Ridley suspended for the year, the Falcons are a prime candidate to draft a pass-catcher early in order to take some of the burden off of tight end Kyle Pitts. Even if they do, Zaccheaus could have some value in deeper leagues and can make for an interesting DFS play throughout the season.
The Falcons have tendered wide receiver Olamide Zaccheaus. It is worth nearly $2.5 million, and it gives Atlanta the option to match offers from other team's around the league. Unquestionably, the team is hurting on the offensive end, primarily since there is no hope that Calvin Ridley will return this season after being suspended for betting on games. To make matters worse, Russell Gage will sign with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Nevertheless, Zaccheaus, who finished the 2021-22 season by compiling 31 catches for 406 yards and three touchdowns, could easily surpass those numbers, assuming he remains with the club. However, managers shouldn't make any drastic moves to select the former Virginia Cavalier during fantasy drafts, although he warrants late-round consideration in deeper formats.
Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Olamide Zaccheaus tallied just three receptions but made them count in Sunday's 27-25 win over the Saints. Zaccheaus' first catch of the day was a three-yard score in the red zone, followed by a big, 49-yard catch later in the game. He capped off his day with a six-yard touchdown reception in the back of the end zone. Zaccheaus showcased a solid chemistry with Matt Ryan, good news for a Falcons offense that will be without top wideout Calvin Ridley (personal) for the foreseeable future. He'll be a low-cost DFS option next week against Dallas. They've allowed the ninth-most fantasy points per game to wideouts.
