Charlie Woerner Fantasy

San Francisco 49ers tight end Charlie Woerner (core muscle) was removed from the PUP list on Sunday. The 2020 sixth-round selection out of Georgia had surgery during the offseason. However, he's buried deep on the depth chart, with a big chunk of his workload reserved for the special teams unit. Still, if George Kittle or Tyler Kroft miss time this season, there's a chance Woerner could receive more snaps. But even then, his fantasy expectations will remain low.

San Francisco 49ers tight end Charlie Woerner caught one of two targets for seven yards in a 33-22 Week 8 win over the Chicago Bears. With George Kittle ruled out for the season and Ross Dwelley getting moved to second on the team's depth chart, Woerner was the de facto TE1 on Sunday but barely registered any usage. He is not relevant in fantasy formats at this time.

With the 190th pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, the San Francisco 49ers selected Georgia tight end Charlie Woerner. Obviously, Woerner wont challenge George Kittle for the starting role anytime soon or ever, really but the Georgia prospect could offer some depth if he makes the roster. Woerners pass-catching is a serious concern, though, as he caught just nine passes in seven games last year and has one career receiving touchdown. Woerner shouldnt be on anyones fantasy radar.
