Brett Anderson To Start Against Cardinals On Wednesday

Milwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Brett Anderson (shoulder) will be activated from the injured list and he will start Wednesday's game against the Milwaukee Brewers. The left-hander has been sidelined since the start of the month after getting hit in his pitching shoulder by a comebacker. He is expected to be on a bit of a pitch count in his return. Anderson has a 4.18 ERA and a 1.34 WHIP over 88.1 innings on the year. He's not someone worth rostering in fantasy leagues.

Brett Anderson Lands On 10-Day Injured List On Thursday

The Milwaukee Brewers placed starting pitcher Brett Anderson (shoulder) on the 10-day injured list with a left shoulder contusion on Thursday. Anderson suffered the injury in Wednesday's game against the San Francisco Giants when he was hit in the shoulder by a comebacker. The Brewers called up pitcher Alec Bettinger to fill Anderson's roster spot. Anderson was scheduled for his next start on Tuesday against the Philadelphia Phillies. It's unclear who will pitch that game now. The veteran has had a decent year with the Brewers, posting a 4.18 ERA and a 1.34 WHIP over 21 starts.

Brett Anderson Removed With Shoulder Contusion

Milwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Brett Anderson (shoulder) was removed from his start against the San Francisco Giants on Wednesday due to a left shoulder contusion. In the second inning of the game, he was struck on his left shoulder by a 103 mph comebacker. He finished the inning, but didn't come back out for the third inning. It doesn't sound as if the injury is anything significant, but we should know more in the coming days. As of now, he's scheduled to make his next start on Tuesday against the Philadelphia Phillies. Over 21 starts on the year, Anderson has gone 4-8 with a 4.18 ERA and a 1.34 WHIP.

Brett Anderson Struggles In Loss Against Pirates

Milwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Brett Anderson (4-6) took the loss in the first game of Saturday's doubleheader against the Pirates, surrendering six runs on eight hits and a walk over 3 1/3 innings. He struck out four. The veteran southpaw made it through two innings unscathed before things started to unravel. Anderson came into the weekend with a 1.40 ERA and 0.82 WHIP over his last five starts and 25 2/3 innings, so perhaps he was overdue for a dud. On the season, the 33-year-old carries a 4.09 ERA and 48:20 K: BB through 77 innings.

Brett Anderson Earns Win Against Pirates

Milwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Brett Anderson (3-5) picked up the win Tuesday after blanking the Pirates across six strong innings. He allowed three hits and a walk while striking out three. Anderson looked sharp in this one, shutting down Pittsburgh's bats to earn his first win since April 17th, also against the Pirates. The southpaw started things off with an 11-pitch first inning and cruised the rest of the way. Despite a shaky first half of the season, Anderson has only given up two runs across 11 innings following the All-Star break. The 33-year-old will carry a 3.86 ERA and 1.30 WHIP into his next start.

Brett Anderson Strikes Out Three In No-Decision

Milwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Brett Anderson did not factor into the decision during Tuesday's loss to the Royals. He allowed two runs on three hits and a pair of walks while striking out three across five innings. Anderson turned in a solid performance, but unfortunately, his teammates failed to provide enough run support to get by the Royals. The left-hander allowed the first run to score on a sacrifice fly to Andrew Benintendi in the first. His second run came via a solo homer off the bat of Jorge Soler in the fourth. Anderson, making his second start following a two-week stint on the injured list due to a bone bruise in his right knee, has compiled a 4.26 ERA and 1.37 WHIP across 14 outings.

Brett Anderson Pitches Well In Shortened Outing

Milwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Brett Anderson didn't factor into the decision in a 5-0 win over the Mets during the second game of Wednesday's doubleheader, giving up three hits over four scoreless innings. He struck out one without walking a batter. Making his first start since June 21st, Anderson was on a very short leash and lasted only 44 pitches (29 strikes), but he stifled the New York offense and didn't allow a runner to get into scoring position. The veteran southpaw will head into the All-Star break with a 4.33 ERA, 1.40 WHIP, and 32:15 K: BB through 52 innings.

Brett Anderson Will Start Tuesday Against Mets

Milwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Brett Anderson (knee) will start Tuesday's game against the Mets, Tim Healey of Newsday reports. Anderson simulated several innings in the bullpen Thursday, and he'll rejoin Milwaukee's rotation after a two-week absence due to a bone bruise in his right knee. The left-hander has posted a 4.69 ERA, 1.46 WHIP, and 31:15 K: BB in 48 innings across 12 starts to begin the season. He has not been strong enough to be relevant in the vast majority of fantasy leagues and should be avoided in this matchup.

Brett Anderson Could Rejoin Rotation Soon

Milwaukee Brewers manager Craig Counsell said that left-hander Brett Anderson (knee) will be reinserted into the starting rotation if a planned aggressive bullpen session goes well on Thursday. If Anderson comes out of Thursday with a successful bullpen session, he could be lined up to make his return on Tuesday against the New York Mets. The veteran southpaw has been out since June 22 with a right knee contusion and will be an extremely shaky fantasy streamer in his first start back after posting a 4.69 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 31/15 K/BB in 12 starts covering 48 innings this year. Anderson's career 6.1 K/9 just goes to show that he has very little upside in the strikeout department.

Brett Anderson Out For Up To Two Weeks

Milwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Brett Anderson (knee) could be on the injured list for up to two weeks, manager Craig Counsell said on Friday. The 33-year-old lefty exited his last start after only pitching 1 1/3 innings due to discomfort in his right knee, which was later diagnosed as a bone bruise. Needless to say, this stint on the IL makes Anderson even less of a fantasy option than he already was. On top of his mediocre 4.69 ERA and 1.45 WHIP over 12 starts (48 innings), the veteran left-hander is only striking out 5.8 hitters per nine innings. If you have other needs in deeper leagues, Anderson isn't a must-hold.
