Cam Perkins Fantasy Stats

Greg Johns of MLB.com reports that the Seattle Mariners have claimed outfielder Cameron Perkins off waivers from the Philadelphia Phillies. Perkins had a nice season in Triple-A, where he hit .282 with seven home runs in 94 games, but he struggled after being promoted to the big league club where he hit .182 with one home run in 97 at-bats. He figures to serve as organizational depth for the Mariners.

One day after being promoted to the majors in the aftermath of Michael Saunders being designated for assignment, Cameron Perkins made his debut for the Phillies against the Cardinals. The 26-year-old, who was promoted from Triple-A Lehigh Valley, batted leadoff and while he struck out three times in six plate appearances, he managed to pick up his first career hit. He would go on to pick up another hit, an RBI single that came in the 10th inning with the Phillies down two runs. Perkins figures to split time in the outfield the rest of the year with the struggling Phillies seemingly headed towards an abysmal year.
