Chance Sisco Signs Minors Deal With Twins

Catcher Chance Sisco has signed a minor league deal with the Minnesota Twins. He will be reporting to Triple-A St. Paul. The 27-year-old split the 2021 season between the Baltimore Orioles and New York Mets. He appeared in 28 games and slashed .149/.241/.189. He signed with the Seattle Mariners back in March and participated in Spring Training with the club, but the Mariners released him just days before Opening Day. The Twins currently have just two catchers on the big league roster, Gary Sanchez and Ryan Jeffers. If either suffers an injury, there's a good chance Sisco will be promoted.

Chance Sisco Released By The Mariners

The Seattle Mariners released catcher Chance Sisco on Saturday. He signed a minor-league contract with Seattle in mid-March with a chance to compete for a roster spot. The 27-year-old went 2-for-9 with a run scored over eight games in Spring Training. He slashed .149/.241/.189 with three doubles and four RBI over 83 plate appearances for Mets/Orioles in 2021. Sisco will look to latch onto another team in need of catching depth.

Orioles Option Chance Sisco, Call Up Austin Wynns

The Baltimore Orioles optioned catcher Chance Sisco to Triple-A and purchased the contract of fellow catcher Austin Wynns. Sisco has had a dreadful year at the plate, slashing .154/.247/.185 over 23 games. He was serving as the team's backup catcher behind Pedro Severino, a role that Wynns will now assume. Wynns made his first start of the year on Monday against the Minnesota Twins and went 0-for-4.

Chance Sisco Hits Go-Ahead Single Wednesday

Baltimore Orioles catcher Chance Sisco played the hero in Wednesday's 4-3 extra-inning win over the Yankees. Sisco came into the game in the top of the 11th innings as a pinch hitter and delivered an RBI single off of Chad Green to plate what would be the winning run. The 26-year-old has gotten just one start behind the plate this season and is hitting just .222, so fantasy managers can ignore him for now.

Chance Sisco To Start Season With Orioles

Baltimore Orioles catcher Chance Sisco will start the season on the big league roster, per Baltimore Baseball's Rich Dubroff. Battery mate Pedro Severino will also start the season with the O's. Sisco split time with Severino behind home plate last season, slashing .214/.364/.378 with four home runs and 10 RBI across 22 starts. Sisco has also had a poor showing this spring, managing just a .103/.278/.103 slash line. Given that catcher was a timeshare last season, he hasn't performed well this spring, and the O's have their hopeful catcher of the future in Adley Rutschman, it will be difficult for fantasy managers to put trust in Sisco to start the season.

Chance Sisco Hitting Leadoff Tuesday For First Time

Baltimore Orioles catcher Chance Sisco is batting in the leadoff spot Tuesday against Toronto and right-hander Nate Pearson, marking the first time in his career that he will hit in the top spot of the order. Sisco has been crushing the ball to open the 2020 campaign, having delivered a 190 OPS+ through his first 13 games. The move up the lineup card should make Sisco a sought after DFS commodity Tuesday, although his long-term prognosis is difficult to ascertain with Pedro Severino also off to a hot start behind the dish.

Chance Sisco Plates Three Wednesday

Baltimore Orioles catcher Chance Sisco had a big day at the plate in Wednesday's 5-4 win over the Phillies. Sisco went 2-for-4 with a single, a solo home run, three RBI, and a strikeout. The 25-year-old now owns an impressive .381/.536/.762 slash line with two HR and four RBI over 28 plate appearances. He has done very well this season, but his teammate Pedro Severino has also performed well and is getting more starts behind home plate, which limits Sisco's fantasy value for now.

Chance Sisco Dealing With Sore Hand

Baltimore Orioles catcher Chance Sisco (hand) hasn't been in the Grapefruit League lineup because of a sore right hand that he suffered when taking a foul ball off of it. However, Sisco took some swings in a simulated game on Wednesday, so the injury doesn't look too serious. The 25-year-old is expected to form a timeshare behind the dish in Baltimore in 2020 with Pedro Severino, which leaves him very limited fantasy upside in deep two-catcher or AL-only leagues. He hit just .210/.333/.395 with eight home runs and 20 RBI in 59 games for the O's in 2019.

Chance Sisco Hits Sixth Home Run Of Season Sunday

Baltimore Orioles catcher Chance Sisco went 2-for-4 with a single, a solo home run, and two strikeouts in Sunday's 6-1 loss to the Blue Jays. The 24-year-old took David Phelps deep in the seventh inning for his sixth long ball of the season. Cisco now has a solid .283/.394/.667 slash line with 17 RBI in 71 plate appearances. However, he is currently serving as backup catcher behind Pedro Severino and has a poor 32.4% strikeout rate, so he has some hurdles to overcome before becoming fantasy relevant.

Chance Sisco Hits Solo Home Run Thursday

Baltimore Orioles catcher Chance Sisco went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and two strikeouts in Thursday's 12-3 loss to the Blue Jays. The 24-year-old has done well in very limited playing time this season, posting a .273/.407/.682slash line with two long balls and five RBI in 27 plate appearances. He is one of the O's higher-end younger players, but in terms of fantasy value at this time, teammate and fellow catcher Pedro Severino is a better play. Only fantasy players in dynasty leagues need to keep an eye on Sisco at this time.
