Pirates Adding Prospects Hudson Head, Endy Rodriguez

The Pittsburgh Pirates are acquiring center fielder Hudson Head and catching prospect Endy Rodriguez on Monday in a three-team deal also involving the San Diego Padres and New York Mets. Head, a 19-year-old center fielder in the Padres organization, was San Diego's No. 7 prospect, per MLB Pipeline. The left-handed hitter still has plenty of time to develop, but he could have above-average tools across the board. Head has plus speed and a strong arm, which should allow him to remain in center field in the future. Rodriguez, a switch-hitting 20-year-old who can also play a corner outfield spot, was ranked as the Mets' No. 14 prospect, per MLB Pipeline. His bat will be even more valuable for fantasy managers in the future if he can develop and stick behind the dish for Pittsburgh.

Dakota Hudson Heads To 10-Day Injured List

Updating a previous post, St. Louis Cardinals starter Dakota Hudson (elbow) was placed on the 10-day injured list on Friday afternoon. The results of Hudson's MRI have not come back yet, but the consensus is that he is dealing with a flexor strain. The 26-year-old is now officially done for the rest of the regular season, meaning he is safe to drop in all redraft formats. He finished the campaign with a 2.77 ERA and 1.00 WHIP across 39 innings of work.
