Miami Marlins outfielder Isaac Galloway struggled against the Indians on Tuesday, going 0-for-4 with two strikeouts. Since getting called up from Triple-A New Orleans in the middle of April, the 29-year-old has been a contributor to the Marlins' offensive woes this season by sporting a horrendous .211 average while collecting only eight hits in 38 plate appearances. He will look to turn it around against Corey Kluber and the Indians on Wednesday.
Miami Marlins outfielder Isaac Galloway, who was just called up on Tuesday, is starting in center field and batting leadoff on Wednesday against Cubs left-handed starter Cole Hamels. Lewis Brinson, who is in the midst of a bad slump to begin the year, will start on the bench. Galloway was 1-for-4 in his first game on Tuesday after hitting a weak .203/.301/.391 with three homers and seven RBI in 43 games with the Fish last year. He's a better defender than he is a hitter and will only be of use in NL-only leagues if he continues to play. He'll be considered a deep DFS sleeper on Wednesday out of the leadoff spot.
The Miami Marlins optioned shortstop J.T. Riddle to Triple-A New Orleans on Tuesday and recalled outfielder Isaac Galloway and pitcher Jarlin Garcia in corresponding moves. Riddle had only five hits in his first 32 at-bats (.156) with two homers and three RBI. Miguel Rojas figures to be the team's everyday starter at the 6 going forward. Galloway, who is in the starting lineup on Tuesday, hit just .203/.301/.391 with three homers and seven RBI in 43 games in his first taste of the majors last season. He'll factor into playing time in the outfield with Rosell Herrera, but he's nothing more than a dart throw in NL-only affairs.
