Julio Teheran News
Milwaukee Brewers right-hander Julio Teheran (hip) made his fourth minor-league rehab start for Triple-A Nashville on Sunday and went five innings, allowing three earned runs on three hits while walking two and striking out five for a win. The 32-year-old has now gone five innings in back-to-back rehab starts, so it's likely that his next appearance will be in the big leagues for Milwaukee after going on the injured list on July 30 with a right-hip impingement. The bad news for Teheran is that the Brewers' starting rotation is currently full, so he's expected to return to a long-relief role out of the bullpen, which will make him mostly useless in fantasy.
Milwaukee Brewers right-hander Julio Teheran (hip) threw a bullpen session on Sept. 2 in preparation for another minor-league rehab start for Triple-A Nashville on Tuesday. Teheran went on the injured list with a right-hip impingement that had been bothering him since July 18. He began his rehab assignment with High-A Wisconsin on Aug. 25 and threw 30 of his 43 pitches for strikes. He then allowed four runs on seven hits over 2 1/3 innings with Nashville on Aug. 31. The 32-year-old's start on Tuesday could be his final rehab appearance before being activated from the injured list, although Teheran may not rejoin Milwaukee's starting rotation. In 11 starts for the Brewers this year, Teheran has gone 2-5 with a 4.74 ERA (5.06 FIP), 1.13 WHIP, 11 walks and 44 K's in 62 2/3 innings.
Milwaukee Brewers right-handed pitcher Julio Teheran (hip) began a minor-league rehab assignment with High-A Wisconsin on Friday. The 32-year-old seems to be on track for an early-September return if all goes well on the farm. Teheran has been on the mend with a right hip impingement since late July, but it's nagged him since July 18. The veteran righty may not come back as a starter with Brandon Woodruff having since returned during Teheran's stead. Teheran surprised with a 1.53 ERA over his first six starts of the year but fell apart for an 8.89 ERA across the next five showings to form a bumpy 4.74 ERA, 1.13 WHIP, and 44:11 K:BB in 62 2/3 innings overall.
