He now has a 3.91 ERA and 1.22 WHIP on the season heading into the final week of the regular season. In two starts against Boston in 2024, Gausman has allowed nine runs (seven earned) while walking four and striking out nine in 11 2/3 innings pitched.

It's been an uncharacteristic year for the veteran right-hander with a 4.64 ERA and 1.34 WHIP on the season. The 33-year-old is on pace for his worst season since he put up a 5.72 ERA in the 2019 season. Gausman is now rostered in 95% of fantasy leagues which means there are fantasy managers out there who have lost patience with the former all-star ace. His next start is projected against a mediocre San Francisco Giants and if he has the second half that reflects any of the past couple of years he's put up it could be a move that could be reap league-winning rewards.
