Khris Davis Drawing Interest From Multiple Teams

Free-agent outfielder Khris Davis is intent on making it back to the majors this year. According to Robert Murray of MLB Insider, the veteran has drawn interest from multiple teams. The 34-year-old split the 2021 season between the Oakland Athletics and Texas Rangers. Over 42 games, he slashed .206/.272/.363 with three home runs, 10 RBI and 11 runs. His star has faded significantly since he led the majors in home runs with 48 in 2018. He has hit a total of just 28 home runs in the majors since that season.

Khris Davis Collects RBI In Loss To Mariners On Monday

Oakland Athletics designated hitter Khris Davis went 1-for-4 with an RBI in a loss to Seattle on Monday. Davis has been in the lineup the past week or so, but hasn't done much with the opportunity as he has just three hits in 17 at-bats. Davis is yet to homer since re-signing with Oakland at the end of August and is batting just .202 on the season. He's got no business being anywhere near a fantasy baseball roster in the last week of the season.

Athletics Recall Khris Davis From Triple-A

Oakland Athletics designated hitter Khris Davis was recalled by the A's and will be with the team for its game in Detroit on Wednesday. Davis is a fan-favorite in Oakland after blasting 40-plus homers every season from 2016-18, but he's fallen on hard times since the height of his powers. He hit just .200 with a weak .329 slugging percentage across 30 games in 2020 and was let go by the A's in the offseason. Davis began the 2021 season with Texas and batted .157 in 22 games before being designated for assignment. Fantasy managers should take a wait-and-see approach to Davis as it's unclear how much playing time he'll get, let alone if he can still produce at the Big League level.

Khris Davis Signs Minor League Deal With Oakland

Free agent outfielder Khris Davis has signed a minor league deal with the Oakland Athletics and has been assigned to the team's Arizona Complex League roster, according to Shayna Rubin of the Mercury News. He struggled significantly over 22 games with the Rangers this season, slashing .157/.262/.333 with two homers, five RBI and eight runs scored. Managers may want to keep an eye out for how he performs in the minors, and if he swings the bat well and makes it to back to Oakland, he could be a decent pick up off the waiver wire in deeper formats.

Khris Davis Placed On Unconditional Release Waivers

Texas Rangers designated hitter Khris Davis was designated for assignment back on June 8. The veteran slugger has been placed on unconditional release waivers. Which means, Davis will become a free agent, assuming no other team claims him. Davis is slashing .157/.262/.333 with two home runs and five RBI this season. Regardless of where he lands, Davis can be left on the waiver wire in all fantasy formats.

Rangers Designate Khris Davis For Assignment

The Texas Rangers designated outfielder/designated hitter Khris Davis for assignment on Tuesday after he hit .157 with two home runs and five RBI in 22 games in his first season with the team. The 33-year-old slugger led the American League with 48 home runs in 2018 when he was with the Oakland Athletics, but the Rangers want to get a look at some of their younger players the rest of the way. Davis hit 42 or more home runs and had 102-plus RBI in three straight seasons, but he's fallen far since then. Infielder/outfielder Eli White was called up from Triple-A Round Rock in a corresponding move. White hit .343 and started at five different positions in 20 games in the minors, but he hit just .127 over 22 big league games earlier this year before he was optioned. Fantasy managers can drop Davis, if they haven't already.

Khris Davis Scratched On Sunday

Texas Rangers designated hitter Khris Davis (illness) has been scratched from Sunday's game against the Tampa Bay Rays. It doesn't sound like it's COVID-19 related, so Davis is likely just feeling under the weather. Nick Solak will be the designated hitter, while Charlie Culberson starts at second base in this one. Solak has some deep league appeal, while Davis is barely a fantasy option right now. Culberson doesn't bring enough to the plate in order to offer reliable fantasy value.

Khris Davis Looking Good In Return From Injured List

Texas Rangers designated hitter Khris Davis (quad) continues to heat up after a prolonged stay on the injured list. In just his third game of the season, the veteran slugger went 2-for-4 with a triple during Monday's 3-1 loss to the San Francisco Giants. Davis is now 3-for-9 (.333) in the early going and adds depth to a strong lineup if he can generate similar results to his run from 2013-2018. From 2016-18, in particular, the right-handed hitter slugged at least 42 homers each year. The 33-year-old is in the final season of a two-year contract and with a limited market for designated hitters in recent years, he's no doubt motivated to have strong results.

Khris Davis Activated From IL On Saturday

Texas Rangers designated hitter Khris Davis (quad) was activated from the injured list on Saturday, according to Kennedi Landry of MLB.com. In a corresponding move, utility player Eli White was optioned to Triple-A Round Rock. Davis has been out with a strained left quad since the end of Spring Training after slashing .219/.306/.438 with two home runs, six RBI and five runs scored in 13 games. He had a down year in 2020 where he slashed .200/.303/.329, but he's a potential bounce-back candidate this year as his .221 xBA and .407 xSLG suggest he was slightly unlucky at the plate. In AL-only and deep mixed leagues, Davis is worth taking a look at as a guy to target off the waiver-wire.

Khris Davis Out 3-4 Weeks With Quad Injury

Texas Rangers general manager Jon Daniels provided an update on Khris Davis' (quad) injury and said it would keep the designated hitter out for three to four weeks. The Grade 2 left quad injury means that he won't be available for opening day. The club is also without Willie Calhoun (groin) due to injury and he would have been the favorite to fill in at the DH slot. Daniels said the club may rotate players through the position to keep them healthy and refreshed until Davis or Calhoun return. The former is coming off a disappointing season with the Oakland Athletics but the Rangers acquired him in the offseason with hopes that he would provide 20+ home run pop.
