Red Sox Sign Kyle Barraclough To Minor-League Deal

The Boston Red Sox signed free-agent veteran right-hander Kyle Barraclough to a minor-league deal on Monday, according to a source. Barraclough will return to the big leagues after pitching in the Atlantic League for the High Point Rockers. He made only eight appearances out of the bullpen last year for the Los Angeles Angels, giving up three runs on seven hits while walking four and striking out nine in nine innings. The 33-year-old will most likely join Triple-A Worcester while providing the Red Sox with some organizational relief depth. In his seven-year big-league career, Barraclough has a 3.61 ERA (3.93 FIP), 1.36 WHIP, 11 saves and a 28.9 percent strikeout rate in 274 1/3 relief innings.

Twins Select Contracts of Andrew Albers, Kyle Barraclough

The Minnesota Twins selected the contracts of pitchers Andrew Albers and Kyle Barraclough from Triple-A on Thursday, the team announced in a press release. These were the corresponding moves to the placement of Lewis Thorpe on the 10-day injured list and the optioning of Edgar Garcia to Triple-A. Albers has not pitched in the majors since 2017, where he went 5-1 with a 3.51 ERA, 1.293 WHIP and 20.8 percent strikeout rate over 41 innings with Seattle. He's looked decent at Triple-A this year, going 6-4 with a 3.86 ERA, 1.297 WHIP and 19.8 percent strikeout rate over 91 innings of work. Meanwhile, Kyle Barraclough has not pitched in the majors since 2019, but he's looked pretty solid at Triple-A this year, where he's gone 7-1 with a 3.00 ERA, 1.056 WHIP and 38.7 percent strikeout rate over 36 innings between Minnesota and New York's system. Barraclough could be a decent play in SV/HLD formats, while Albers is a potential streaming option in deeper formats.

Kyle Barraclough Signs Minors Deal With Twins

The Minnesota Twins have signed relief pitcher Kyle Barraclough to a minor league deal. The veteran righty reliever was released by the New York Yankees earlier this month. Before getting cut, Barraclough posted a 4.21 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 24/11 K/BB ratio across 14 innings in Triple-A. He has not pitched in the MLB since the 2019 season where he finished with a horrendous 5.61 ERA. Barraclough was a reliable and productive reliever earlier in his career with the Miami Marlins. Possibly, there is some gas left in the tank, but fantasy managers shouldn't bother adding Barraclough to their roster.

Kyle Barraclough Joins Yankees Bullpen Mix

Right-handed pitcher Kyle Barraclough has inked a Minor League deal with the New York Yankees that includes an invite to Major League Spring Training later in February. Barraclough has not pitched in the big leagues since 2019 when he posted a 5.61 ERA across 43 appearances split between Miami and San Francisco. Having served as the Marlins' closer as recently as the '18 season, Barraclough posted impressive Statcast metrics during his time with the club, something that the Yankees can hope to tap into as he makes his bid for joining the relief corps. Aroldis Chapman remains entrenched as the club's closer, although Barraclough could make a bid for hold chances should he deliver a strong spring performance.

Padres Sign Kyle Barraclough To Minor League Deal

The San Diego Padres signed relief pitcher Kyle Barraclough to a minor league deal on Tuesday. The 29-year-old will also receive an invite to the Friars major league camp. Barraclough owns a 3.53 career ERA (3.84 FIP) across 252 1/3 innings, with his best years being 2015-2017 with the Miami Marlins. The Padres bullpen was broadly disappointing in 2019 so the righty has a decent chance to crack the team. Barraclough wont have any fantasy value going into drafts but could become a cheap source for holds on the waiver wire if he earns a high-leverage role.

Kyle Barraclough Claimed by Giants

Washington Nationals relief pitcher Kyle Barraclough has been claimed off waivers by the San Francisco Giants on Friday. He was designated for assignment by the Nats after posting a 6.66 ERA through 33 appearances. He has been optioned to Triple-A Sacramento, but is under team control through 2021. Barraclough doesn't have any fantasy value right now, but hopefully he'll be able to figure it out in the minors.

Kyle Barraclough Optioned to Minors

Washington Nationals relief pitcher Kyle Barraclough has been optioned to Triple-A Harrisburg on Saturday. He gave up a three-run home run to Justin Turner on Friday, and it sounds like the Nats have seen enough to make a move. Barraclough has allowed eight home runs over 25 2/3 innings this season. He has a horrendous 6.66 ERA, and should be on the waiver wire in every format.

Nationals Acquire Kyle Barraclough

The Washington Nationals acquired relief pitcher Kyle Barraclough from the Miami Marlins on Wednesday in exchange for international bonus pool money. Barraclough struggled in 2018 and was removed from the closer's role eventually. He finished with a 4.20 ERA, 1.33 WHIP, 10 saves and a career-low 9.7 K/9 over 61 outings (55 2/3 innings). The right-hander has always have problems throwing strikes, too, with a career 5.5 walks per nine innings. He could be a key piece for the Nats bullpen, but he won't have any fantasy appeal.

Kyle Barraclough Lands On DL

The Miami Marlins placed relief pitcher Kyle Barraclough (back) on the 10-day disabled list on Friday with lower back stiffness. Outfielder Rafael Ortega was recalled from Triple-A New Orleans and relief pitcher Drew Rucinski (groin) has also been activated from the DL. It's been a bad couple weeks for Barraclough to put it nicely. He allowed 14 hits (three homers) and 14 earned runs in seven outings (5 2/3 innings) since July 21 to lose the closer role. Drew Steckenrider should be the favorite in the ninth now for the Fish, although Tayon Guerrero or Adam Conley could see some chances, too. Ortega was hitting .275 with only two home runs, 28 RBI and 12 steals in 92 games with New Orleans. He could see decent playing time in the outfield, but he's not much of a fantasy option.

Kyle Barraclough Removed From Closer Role

Miami Marlins manager Don Mattingly said that closer Kyle Barraclough will be removed from the closer's role in order to regroup. The Marlins will use a committee in the ninth inning. Barraclough has allowed 12 earned runs on 12 hits (three home runs) in his last six outings covering 4 2/3 innings, including three straight blown saves. Drew Steckenrider figures to be the next man up for saves in Miami, but Javy Guerra (who recorded the save Monday) and Adam Conley could also be mixed in.
