Pearce finished his 13-year career with 91 home runs, 303 RBI, a .254 batting average, .332 on-base percentage and .772 OPS while spending time as a member of the Pirates, Orioles, Astros, Yankees, Rays and Blue Jays, before earning World Series MVP honors and finishing his career as a member of the Red Sox.

A weekend series with the Astros, including a Sunday matchup with Justin Verlander, doesn't bode well for a player like Pearce who is still trying to find himself at the plate.

Catcher Sandy Leon will share battery privileges with David Price and bat ninth. The 30-year-old catcher is batting .200 with a home run and five RBI and can safely be left in DFS player pools.
