Padres
The San Diego Padres have signed veteran outfielder Tim Locastro to a minor-league deal that includes an invitation to big-league spring training. The 31-year-old has played sparingly throughout his big-league career as he has accumulated just 616 plate appearances across parts of seven MLB campaigns. In that time, he has hit .228 with nine home runs but has also swiped 45 bases and scored an even 100 runs. He spent the 2023 season with the Mets where he hit .232 with two HR, six SB, and a .731 OPS across 67 trips to the plate, production that graded out 9% superior to the league average, as per his 109 wRC+. Locastro doesn't offer much with his bat but his speed could land him a depth role with the Friars this season.

Tim Locastro Activated, Playing On Saturday
New York Mets outfielder Tim Locastro (thumb) has been activated from the 60-day injured list on Saturday. The 31-year-old speedster has been sidelined since mid-May due to a thumb injury. Before going down, Locastro went hitless in seven plate appearances with four stolen bases. He'll bat ninth and play center field versus right-hander Spencer Strider on Saturday. There won't be much fantasy value from Locastro outside of his speed.

Tim Locastro May Need Surgery
According to Mets skipper Buck Showalter, outfielder Tim Locastro (thumb) may need surgery. The 30-year-old hasn't done anything all season, going hitless in seven at-bats (11 games). Unfortunately, while working his way back from back spasms at Triple-A Syracuse, he suffered a UCL sprain in his right thumb and found his way to the 60-day injured list on Friday. That said, Locastro hasn't offered anything to fantasy managers in 2023, so the latest update on his health won't mean a thing.

Tim Locastro Signs With Mets
The New York Mets signed free-agent outfielder Tim Locastro to a minor-league deal on Monday that includes an invitation to major-league spring training, according to sources. Locastro will stay in the Big Apple after playing in 38 games for the New York Yankees in 2022. In those 38 games, he hit .186/.239/.349 with a .588 OPS, two home runs, four RBI, 13 runs scored and eight stolen bases in 46 plate appearances. The 30-year-old speedster will give the Mets some outfield depth, but he's not much to look at from an offensive standpoint and won't have any fantasy appeal entering the 2023 season. In six major-league seasons, Locastro has a .227/.325/.331 slash line with seven long balls, 35 RBI, 87 runs scored and 39 stolen bases.

Tim Locastro Homers, Swipes Two Bags
New York Yankees outfielder Tim Locastro took advantage of a rare start Sunday, going 3-for-5 at the plate with a home run, two RBI, two runs scored, and two stolen bases. He now has two homers and six steals in just 17 games and 22 plate appearances this season. The 30-year-old speedster has split his time between Triple-A and the majors this season, but he may have earned himself some more playing time with this performance and other outfield options struggling. He'd offer a major boost for fantasy players in the steals category with regular at-bats.

Tim Locastro Starting On Sunday
New York Yankees outfielder Tim Locastro was recalled from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and is starting in left field and hitting ninth on Sunday against Baltimore Orioles left-hander Bruce Zimmermann. Locastro is likely to serve as outfield depth for as long as he remains on the Yankees major league roster. The 29-year-old hit just .180 with two home runs, seven RBI and five stolen bases in 64 games with the Arizona Diamondbacks and Yankees last year, and he has a career .231/.333/.329 slash line with five home runs, 31 RBI and 31 steals in 209 games over five major league seasons. He'll be a long shot to return any DFS value in his season debut Sunday.

Yankees Sign Tim Locastro To One-Year Deal
The New York Yankees have signed outfielder Tim Locastro to a one-year Major League contract. Locastro briefly played for the Yankees last year, appearing in nine games with the team before suffering an ACL injury. The Yankees placed him on waivers and he was claimed by the Boston Red Sox, but eventually let go. Locastro is known for his base-stealing prowess. Over 209 MLB games, he's converted 31 of his 34 stolen base attempts. He likely won't be much more than an occasional starter and pinch-runner for the Pinstripes.

Red Sox Non-Tender Tim Locastro
Outfielder Tim Locastro is on the move again, as the Boston Red Sox have opted not to tender him a contract. He will now become a free agent. The speedy Locastro played for both the Arizona Diamondbacks and New York Yankees in 2021 before an ACL injury ended his season. He was claimed off of waivers by Boston on November 5, but his stint with the club proved to be short-lived. As long as his recovery goes to plan, Locastro should have no trouble catching on with a team in need of a baserunning and defense boost, as he's stolen 31 bases in 34 career attempts and is consistently at the top end of sprint speed metrics.

Tim Locastro Transferred To The 60-Day Injured List
New York Yankees outfielder Tim Locastro (knee) was transferred to the 60-day injured list on Sunday. No surprise here, primarily since the 29-year-old was already pegged to miss the remainder of the year because of a torn right ACL. Although he regressed this season from a statistical standpoint, he is worth holding on to in dynasty formats.

Tim Locastro Diagnosed With Torn ACL
New York Yankees outfielder Tim Locastro underwent an MRI on Saturday, which revealed a torn right ACL. He exited Saturday's game early after banging his knee on the outfield wall while trying to catch a foul ball in the second inning. The 29-year-old will miss the rest of the season. Locastro slashed .180/.263/.252 with two home runs, seven RBI, 15 runs scored, and five stolen bases across 64 games for the Diamondbacks/Yankees. There's a decent chance he won't be ready by Spring Training of 2022. Fantasy managers can drop Locastro in all league formats. Tyler Wade would see an uptick in playing time until Aaron Judge is reinstated from the COVID-19 list.
