Cason Wallace Returns From Ankle Injury

Oklahoma City Thunder guard Cason Wallace (ankle) was back in action against Houston on Wednesday. He suffered a mild ankle sprain in Monday's preseason opener against San Antonio but ended up not missing any preseason action. Wallace logged 21 minutes off the bench in Wednesday's 122-113 overtime loss, posting six points with two rebounds and two assists. The 20-year-old had a strong finish to his rookie campaign and will look to impress further in his sophomore year. However, Wallace doesn't have a lot of fantasy value in normal circumstances, and only injuries would boost his stock.

Cason Wallace Hopes To Expand His Game Next Season

Oklahoma City Thunder guard Cason Wallace is eager to improve following his rookie campaign. "Being more decisive when I have the ball in my hands," Wallace said in his exit interview. "Not just being a shooter, being able to play inside the (three-point) line as well." Wallace impressed with his outside shooting in 2023-24, hitting 41.9 percent of his triples. He averaged 6.8 points and 2.3 rebounds in 20.6 minutes, earning an NBA All-Rookie Second Team selection. Wallace's role should only continue to grow on the young Thunder team.

Cason Wallace Forced To Leave Early On Sunday

Oklahoma City Thunder guard Cason Wallace (shoulder) made his second consecutive start on Sunday in place of Jalen Williams (ankle) but exited the game in the third quarter due to right shoulder soreness and wasn't able to return to the game. He ended up playing 18 minutes and registering eight points, two assists, one rebound, and one block while shooting 3-for-8 from the floor. The rookie has scored in double-digit figures multiple times this season but hasn't produced stat lines that keep him relevant in shallow fantasy leagues. If Wallace has to miss extended time, then Aaron Wiggins would see some added run if Williams can't return.

Cason Wallace Moves Into Starting Five

Oklahoma City Thunder guard Cason Wallace will move into the starting five ahead of Thursday's game against the Utah Jazz. The rookie guard will make his seventh start of the season with Luguentz Dort (illness) sidelined. A move to the starting unit is normally good news for a player's fantasy value. However, Wallace probably won't see much of a change in value. He hasn't been a consistent contributor this season and Isaiah Joe has been playing much better lately. Joe will come off the bench, but is the better streaming choice between the two.

Cason Wallace Questionable For Saturday

Oklahoma City Thunder shooting guard Cason Wallace (shoulder) is listed as questionable for Saturday's rematch versus Golden State. The 10th pick of this year's draft logged 26 minutes against the Warriors on Thursday night, but he appears to have injured his right shoulder at some point. Wallace has looked solid in the early parts of his rookie season. He's averaging only 8.1 points, but Wallace has done it with an impressive 64.4 percent shooting, and the 20-year-old has also tallied 2.5 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 22.9 minutes off the bench. Isaiah Joe had a monster 7-for-7 effort from deep on Thursday and could get extra action if Wallace is out, while Vasilije Micic and Aaron Wiggins could also cover some of his minutes.
