Chet Holmgren Available for Friday's Matchup With Kings

According to Clemente Almanza of USA Today, Oklahoma City Thunder forward/center Chet Holmgren (back) has been removed from the injury report ahead of Friday's matchup with the Sacramento Kings. Holmgren sat out the second half of Wednesday's back-to-back set for rest purposes, as he recently returned from a lower back strain. When available, the 23-year-old has been a fantasy force, averaging 20.6 points, 9.2 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.6 blocks, and 1.2 steals across five outings.

Chet Holmgren Back in Thunder Lineup Tuesday

Oklahoma City Thunder forward/center Chet Holmgren (back) has been removed from the injury report ahead of Tuesday's encounter with the Los Angeles Clippers. This is a strong signal that the versatile big man is ready to return from a three-game absence. Holmgren is off to a great start to the year, averaging 23.0 points, 10.3 rebounds, 1.3 blocks, and 1.3 steals. He will take a starting role from Jaylin Williams (shoulder), who might miss the contest entirely after picking up a questionable tag. In his lone meeting with the Clippers last year, Holmgren struggled to score and was limited to 10 points, but he dominated on the glass with 14 rebounds.

Chet Holmgren Not Ready to Return Sunday

Oklahoma City Thunder forward/center Chet Holmgren (back) will miss a third consecutive game on Sunday afternoon against the New Orleans Pelicans. The talented big man is dealing with a lower back strain. Before he landed on the shelf, Holmgren had a great start to the campaign, averaging a double-double with 23.0 points and 10.3 rebounds. Jaylin Williams has a larger role in the rotation without Holmgren, while players like Aaron Wiggins and Cason Wallace also see more action.

Chet Holmgren Remains Out Thursday

Oklahoma City Thunder forward/center Chet Holmgren (back) has been ruled out for Thursday's game against the Washington Wizards. Lower back soreness will keep him off the floor for a second consecutive contest. Holmgren played in each of the first four contests for the Thunder, averaging 23.0 points, 10.3 rebounds, 1.3 blocks, and 1.3 steals in 34.3 minutes. In his absence, Aaron Wiggins made his second start of the season on Tuesday against the Sacramento Kings and could remain in the first unit on Thursday. On Tuesday night, Wiggins was one of OKC's leading scorers, contributing 18 points, along with six rebounds, six assists, one steal, and three blocks.

Chet Holmgren Won't Play Tuesday

Oklahoma City Thunder forward/center Chet Holmgren (back) has been ruled out for Tuesday's matchup against the Sacramento Kings. He played through a back issue on Monday versus the Dallas Mavericks and will get Tuesday off to rest. As a result of Holmgren's absence, Isaiah Hartenstein should be a busy man in the OKC frontcourt. The likes of Jaylin Williams and Ousmane Dieng could also feature more in the rotation. Williams could be a sneaky fantasy option, as he recorded several triple-doubles last season when the Thunder had limited roster options.

Chet Holmgren Available for Monday Night Tilt

Oklahoma City Thunder center Chet Holmgren (back) is expected to play in Monday's matchup against the Dallas Mavericks. Holmgren had been downgraded to a questionable tag due to lower back soreness. Despite battling the injury on Saturday, the big man still delivered 31 points, 12 rebounds, and three steals. With Holmgren back in action, expect another strong performance against a Mavs' frontcourt lacking depth due to the losses of Dereck Lively II (knee) and Daniel Gafford (ankle).

Chet Holmgren Questionable to Face Mavericks

Oklahoma City Thunder forward/center Chet Holmgren (back) is considered questionable for Monday's matchup against the Dallas Mavericks. He may be sidelined for the first time this season due to lower back soreness. The reigning champions are already dealing with several injuries, so losing Holmgren would be another setback for the team, especially given his strong start to the season. Holmgren has averaged 24.7 points and 10.0 rebounds in 35.0 minutes per game. Jaylin Williams could get additional work in the frontcourt if Holmgren doesn't play on Monday, while there might also be extra minutes available in the rotation for players like Aaron Wiggins and Ousmane Dieng.

Chet Holmgren Available to Face the Hawks

Oklahoma City Thunder forward/center Chet Holmgren (back) is available for Saturday's meeting with the Atlanta Hawks. The 23-year-old popped up on the injury report because of back soreness. However, that's not surprising, considering OKC went into double-overtime in both games to begin the 2025 campaign. He is currently averaging 21.5 points, 9.5 rebounds, and 1.0 steals this season. While Holmgren's statistical contributions are somewhat inflated due to the extra quarters played in the Thunder's first two contests, he is an All-Star caliber performer regardless. Of course, Holmgren should be starting in all fantasy formats. Although category managers haven't appreciated his 18.2% shooting from deep, he's made up for it by sinking 91.7% of his tries from behind the charity stripe. Kristaps Porzingis (illness) is also back on the injury report after missing Friday's win over the Orlando Magic due to Flu-like symptoms. If Porzingis remains on the shelf, Holmgren's ceiling will increase even more.

Chet Holmgren Agrees to Rookie Max Extension

Oklahoma City Thunder forward/center Chet Holmgren has agreed to a fully guaranteed five-year maximum rookie contract extension, according to Shams Charania of ESPN. The deal could be worth up to $250 million. Holmgren just finished his third NBA season, averaging 15.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 2.2 blocks in 27.4 minutes. He was limited to 32 games due to a hip injury. The 23-year-old missed his entire rookie year with a foot problem. While Holmgren's health issues are something fantasy managers should keep in mind, he is a uniquely talented big man and is set to be part of the Thunder's core for the foreseeable future.

Chet Holmgren Has Tough Shooting Night in Game 5 Against Pacers

Oklahoma City Thunder forward/center Chet Holmgren struggled to score the basketball in Monday's Game 5 of the NBA Finals against the Indiana Pacers but still made a positive impact in a 120-109 victory. The 23-year-old settled for only nine points on 4-for-15 shooting. However, he was plus-12 on the court across 34 minutes of action. Holmgren compensated for his offensive shortcomings with his defensive efforts and another successful night on the glass. He grabbed 11 boards, including five on the offensive end, marking his third consecutive game with double-digit rebounds. Additionally, Holmgren blocked three shots and recorded one steal. While Holmgren has been a bit quiet in the Finals, he is close to averaging a double-double for the series, having posted 12.8 points and 9.6 rebounds in 31.6 minutes.
