Charlotte Hornets guard DaQuan Jeffries (knee) has been ruled out ahead of Saturday's game against the Portland Trail Blazers. Jeffries is set to miss his third game in a row due to a left knee injury. He has only been averaging minutes in the teens this season, but Jeffries was playing more before the injury. However, he'll likely see a reduced role with LaMelo Ball (ankle) healthy once again. Jeffries hasn't been much of a fantasy option this season and remains off the fantasy radar at the moment.
Charlotte Hornets shooting guard DaQuan Jeffries (hand) has been diagnosed with a fractured right fifth metacarpal and looks set to miss an extended period. A more specific timeline for his return hasn't been announced. Jeffries suffered the injury in Tuesday's preseason game against Miami. The 27-year-old joined the Hornets as a result of the Karl-Anthony Towns trade at the start of the month. He rarely played with the Knicks last season, but Charlotte has given him a decent look in preseason. However, the hand injury has cut Jeffries' preseason short.
Sacramento Kings forward Daquan Jeffries will make his second start of the season on Sunday night against the Milwaukee Bucks. The second-year player out has appeared in just five games, averaging 5.4 points while shooting 50 percent from the field. His 4.4 field goal attempts per game are a sign that Jeffries has a fairly low fantasy ceiling. Even with a start on Sunday, it's hard to see a reason to put him in your DFS lineups as anything but a complete punt play.
Sacramento Kings shooting guard Daquan Jeffries (ankle) is reportedly approaching a return to game action, per head coach Luke Walton. Jeffries is yet to suit up this season after having sustained a significant ankle sprain, which has kept him from being a key contributor with the team's second unit. Walton mentioned that upon his return, Jeffries would force a change to the backcourt rotation, with his defensive prowess welcome for a group that currently owns the worst defensive efficiency (114.7) in the league. Having averaged just 3.8 PPG off the bench last season, fantasy managers shouldn't race to the waiver wire to add the 23-year-old, but he soon figures to earn minutes and could be seen as a DFS punt play selection on occasion.
DaQuan Jeffries Faces Extended Absence With Ankle Injury
Sacramento Kings shooting guard Daquan Jeffries (ankle) sustained a Grade 3 sprain of his left ankle, which is expected to keep him sidelined for a considerable period of time. Jeffries appeared in 13 games off the bench last season for the Kings and figured to be a piece that the team could utilize to begin 2020-21. Undrafted out of Tulsa in 2019, Jeffries has been ferried between the team's G League affiliate and Sacramento; his absence will allow Cory Joseph and Tyrese Haliburton to continue seeing the vast majority of reserve minutes in the backcourt. Jeffries is not a fantasy asset at this stage.
