Domantas Sabonis Discussed in Trade Talks with Hornets

HoopsHype's Michael Scotto reports that the Sacramento Kings and Charlotte Hornets had exploratory trade talks on a Domantas Sabonis deal involving Miles Bridges. The talks do not appear close, as Sam Amick of The Athletic reported that compensation has been a sticking point, with Sacramento seeking one of Charlotte's first-round picks. Sabonis averaged 15.8 points, 11.4 rebounds, and 4.1 assists in 19 games before season-ending knee surgery, while Bridges posted 17.1 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 3.2 assists. A move to Charlotte would give Sabonis a cleaner playmaking fit next to LaMelo Ball, while Bridges' fantasy value would hinge on whether Sacramento gives him the same on-ball freedom he had with the Hornets.

Domantas Sabonis Could be Traded This Summer

Sacramento Kings center Domantas Sabonis could be on the move this summer. The Kings were reportedly trying to trade Sabonis ahead of the trade deadline last season. They didn't get a deal done, and instead, Sabonis underwent season-ending surgery to repair a torn meniscus. Given the Kings' aging roster and cap situation, it's not shocking to see them attempting to move Sabonis again. The Kings have Maxime Raynaud, who earned second-team All-Rookie honors last season. Raynaud has shown the upside of being a starter and is under a cheaper rookie deal. Among the veterans on this roster, Sabonis will likely be the easiest to move. A move out of Sacramento might be best for his fantasy value with Raynaud waiting in the wings.

Domantas Sabonis Will Miss Remainder of Season

Sacramento Kings forward/center Domantas Sabonis (knee) underwent season-ending surgery Wednesday to repair a torn left meniscus. The 29-year-old was limited to 19 appearances this season, averaging 15.8 points, 11.4 rebounds, and 4.1 assists in 29.7 minutes before being shut down as the 12-44 Kings shift focus to development. With backup center Dylan Cardwell (ankle) also sidelined, rookie Maxime Raynaud is positioned to handle 30-plus minutes nightly. Raynaud is averaging 9.8 points and 6.6 rebounds in 23.5 minutes across 48 games and now profiles as a must-add in standard leagues. Precious Achiuwa should see a steadier run off the bench, while Keegan Murray and DeMar DeRozan gain modest usage bumps. Sabonis can be dropped in redraft formats.

Domantas Sabonis Unavailable Wednesday

Sacramento Kings forward/center Domantas Sabonis (knee) will sit out a fourth consecutive game on Wednesday against the Utah Jazz. The second-generation NBA player has been listed as out for left knee injury management. He has also recently dealt with a back problem. Sabonis' absence means Maxime Raynaud and Dylan Cardwell will continue to share minutes at center. Both rookies have played well recently, though Raynaud holds a slight edge on Cardwell from a fantasy perspective, as he has been Sabonis' direct replacement in the starting lineup. The French big man was one rebound short of a 20-20 game on Monday versus New Orleans.

Domantas Sabonis Questionable for Meeting with Pelicans

Sacramento Kings forward/center Domantas Sabonis (back) is carrying a questionable tag on the injury report ahead of Monday's contest against the New Orleans Pelicans. The former All-Star has battled a back issue lately, missing four of the last five games. In Sabonis' absence, Maxime Raynaud and Dylan Cardwell have had a chance to log extended minutes. While Raynaud has been Sabonis' replacement in the starting lineup, Cardwell performed slightly better on Saturday against Cleveland, recording a 12-point, 11-rebound double-double. With New Orleans ranking among the bottom six teams in fantasy points allowed to centers, the rookie big men could have another productive performance on Monday night if Sabonis doesn't play.

Domantas Sabonis Out Again on Saturday Night

Sacramento Kings center Domantas Sabonis (back) won't play on Saturday against Cleveland. He missed a few months because of a knee injury. However, the veteran will sit out his second-straight contest due to back soreness. With the Kings not looking at a postseason berth, it's unknown how much action Sabonis will see for the remainder of the 2025 campaign. As far as Saturday's game is concerned, Maxime Raynaud, averaging 11.3 points and 8.0 boards in 27 starts this season, remains in line to replace him in the rotation. Dylan Cardwell, coming off a 14-point, 14-rebound, two-block showing, should also continue to be more involved than usual.

Domantas Sabonis Won't Play Friday Against Clippers

Sacramento Kings forward/center Domantas Sabonis (back) has been ruled out for Friday's matchup against the Los Angeles Clippers. On Wednesday, Sabonis returned from a back problem against the Memphis Grizzlies, but he will be out again on Friday night. This will mark his third absence in four games. Maxime Raynaud is set to return to the first unit against the Clippers, while fellow rookie Dylan Cardwell should also see healthy minutes at the No. 5 spot. As a starter, Raynaud has provided 11.3 points and 8.2 rebounds per game.

Domantas Sabonis Iffy for Friday

Sacramento Kings forward/center Domantas Sabonis (back) is listed as questionable for Friday's game against the Los Angeles Clippers. The Lithuanian star returned from a back problem in Wednesday's loss to Memphis, but the team hasn't removed him from the injury report. Sabonis had 24 points and 15 rebounds in 24 minutes against the Grizzlies. If he can't play on Friday night, Maxime Raynaud and Dylan Cardwell will see additional action against a Clippers frontcourt that no longer has Ivica Zubac, making it an easier matchup for Sacramento's bigs.

Domantas Sabonis Questionable for Wednesday

Sacramento Kings forward/center Domantas Sabonis (back) is listed as questionable for Wednesday's game against the Memphis Grizzlies. The Lithuanian star has missed a couple of games due to lower back soreness. He appears to be nearing a return after participating in Tuesday's practice. Whether Sabonis plays against Memphis may not depend solely on his health, as the three-time All-Star has been linked with a move away from the team, and Sacramento might decide to protect its asset. Maxime Raynaud and Dylan Cardwell have been sharing center duties during Sabonis' absence.

Raptors Continue to Discuss Trade for Domantas Sabonis

Trade talks regarding Sacramento Kings center Domantas Sabonis have continued this week with a connection to the Toronto Raptors still developing. According to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype, the framework of a trade for Sabonis would revolve around Raptors guards RJ Barrett and Ochai Agbaji. The potential for a third team to join in on the trade may still be needed in order to help with the financial side of things. Sabonis is Sacramento's best remaining trade chip, though he's had a bit of a down season due to injury. The 29-year-old has consistently been linked to the Raptors this season and would be a great help to keep Toronto near the top of the Eastern Conference.
