Detroit Pistons guard Frank Jackson is unlikely to remain with the organization next season. The Pistons have until Tuesday to decide on the team options with Jackson and Hamidou Diallo. James Edwards of The Athletic believes that the Pistons will keep Diallo, but move on from Jackson. It wouldn't be shocking to see the Pistons decline Jackson's $3.1 million option. They already have Cade Cunningham and Jaden Ivey as their future stars at guard. Plus, Cory Joseph, Killian Hayes, and Kemba Walker could be in the mix as well. At this point, the Pistons appear to have too many guards, so moving on from Jackson makes sense. He'll likely draw some interest in free agency, but it's tough to imagine Jackson having reliable fantasy value anywhere.
Killian Hayes, Frank Jackson Will Miss Friday’s Contest
Detroit Pistons point guard Killian Hayes (groin) and shooting guard Frank Jackson (back) have been ruled out for Friday's game vs. Boston. Hayes will miss a second straight outing due to a right adductor contusion that he sustained during Monday's outing, having recently enjoyed an elevated role among the second unit with Jackson unavailable. A bilateral lumbar spasm has sidelined Jackson for 10 of Detroit's last 11 outings, an indication that he will be down for the foreseeable future as he continues to get treatment. Without the duo, Saben Lee should get all of the second-unit run that he can handle, while Cade Cunningham and Cory Joseph are likely to see a handful of additional minutes and ball-handling opportunities as well.
Frank Jackson Remains Unavailable For Friday’s Game
Detroit Pistons shooting guard Frank Jackson (back) has been ruled out for Friday's contest against Indiana as he works through bilateral lumbar spasms in his back. Jackson has combined to play just 23 minutes since Feb. 10 due to the ailment, which has thrust Killian Hayes into a larger role among the second unit. While Jackson enjoyed a productive stretch during February, he has a muddled path to fantasy relevance with Cade Cunningham healthy and among the starting five. Jackson's next chance to take the floor comes Monday vs. the Hawks.
Marvin Bagley III, Frank Jackson Will Miss Thursday’s Game
Detroit Pistons power forward/center Marvin Bagley III (ankle) and shooting guard Frank Jackson (back) have been ruled out for Thursday's contest against Toronto. Bagley's absence has now climbed to three consecutive outings on the sidelines, while Jackson is heading back to street clothes after returning from a five-game absence Tuesday. Kelly Olynyk figures to get elevated run without Bagley in the mix, making him an appealing DFS option. Killian Hayes remains a confounding offensive asset, but he should stand to see a healthy minutes allotment without Jackson in the backcourt mix. The next chance for Bagley or Jackson to suit up comes Friday vs. the Pacers.
Hamidou Diallo, Frank Jackson Will Suit Up Tuesday
Detroit Pistons shooting guards Hamidou Diallo (ankle) and Frank Jackson (back) have been given the green light to take the floor for Tuesday's game against Washington. Diallo ultimately did not miss any games due to the ankle ailment, as he is set to reclaim his role as a significant contributor among Detroit's second unit. Jackson is back in action after a five-game stint on the sidelines, with both players likely to cut into the other's DFS appeal. Diallo remains the more appealing play due to having averaged 13.9 PPG over his last 10 outings, although all Pistons are set to benefit from playing a Wizards group that ranks in the bottom third of the league in defensive efficiency.
Detroit Pistons power forward Marvin Bagley III (ankle) and guard Frank Jackson (spine) are both listed as questionable for Tuesday's game against the Washington Wizards. Jackson has missed each of the team's last five games due to a lumbar spine injury. Bagley, meanwhile, sat out the team's most recent game on Sunday with a sprained left ankle. Pistons guard Hamidou Diallo (ankle) is listed as doubtful for Tuesday's game, so Jackson would likely slip into Diallo's minutes if he's able to make his return. Diallo has regularly been playing around 20 minutes per game lately. If Bagley plays, he'd likely see about 20 minutes as well, cutting into Kelly Olynyk's playing time.
Detroit Pistons guard Frank Jackson (back) will miss his fifth straight game on Sunday as the team takes on the Charlotte Hornets. Jackson is currently nursing a lumbar spine injury. Hamidou Diallo should continue to see significant minutes with Jackson out. Rodney McGruder and Killian Hayes also stand to continue seeing additional minutes. Diallo is the most enticing option from this trio for DFS purposes as he's shown the ability to go off here and there.
Detroit Pistons guard Frank Jackson (back) is unlikely to suit up for Saturday's game against the Boston Celtics. He was unable to play on Thursday and it sounds like Jackson will miss at least one more game. Jackson won't have a huge role in Detroit when healthy, but could get more chances in the second half. Hamidou Diallo dropped 21 points on Thursday and will look to build off that performance on Saturday. He could be an interesting streaming option or DFS choice for Saturday's slate.
Detroit Pistons shooting guard Frank Jackson (back) has been given the green light to play in Thursday's contest against the Cavaliers. Jackson, who missed the previous two outings due to back spasms, will rejoin Detroit's second unit. After a stretch of five straight games having scored in double figures, Jackson has gone ice cold from the field, having shot just 15 percent from three-point range since Feb. 4. His return likely caps the DFS upside of Hamidou Diallo, whose nightly production has been sporadic in its own right.
Detroit Pistons point guard Frank Jackson (back) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Boston Celtics. The 23-year-old is dealing with back spasms. The injury first flared up during Friday's game against the Charlotte Hornets. With Jackson out and Saben Lee on assignment with the G League, the Pistons will have to lean more on their primary guards Cade Cunningham, Cory Joseph, Killian Hayes and Hamidou Diallo. We may also see Rodney McGruder get additional minutes.
