LaMelo Ball News
Charlotte Hornets point guard LaMelo Ball scored a team-high 18 points in Thursday's loss to the Clippers, adding eight rebounds and seven assists to his line with two steals on 5-for-10 shooting. He was 3-for-4 with the three-ball and 5-for-6 at the line while committing zero turnovers in 31 minutes. Ball can close out the regular season with a juicy matchup against Washington on Sunday, but he has to find a way past the Knicks' tight defense first. New York limited him to only eight points in this season's first meeting, although the 19-year-old rookie saved his fantasy line with 14 rebounds, seven assists and three steals.
Charlotte Hornets point guard LaMelo Ball posted 22 points, five assists and four rebounds in Sunday's special matchup against his brother Lonzo Ball and the Pelicans. He shot 10-for-19 from the floor with a 2-for-5 effort from outside. Ball's line also included two steals and five turnovers in 31 minutes. LaMelo has now gone for 20-plus points in three of his past four outings. His scoring surge should continue on Tuesday in a matchup with the Nuggets, who have allowed opposing point guards to shoot 56.2 percent from the field against them this season.
Charlotte Hornets point guard LaMelo Ball rolled through with a team-high 23 points, seven rebounds and six assists in Tuesday's 102-99 victory over Detroit, adding two steals and shooting 7-for-16 from the floor. He was 3-for-5 from downtown and 6-for-6 at the line with two turnovers in 31 minutes. Ball hasn't really missed a beat since returning from a broken wrist, and he has a chance to shine in three more games this week. He'll go up against the Bulls on Thursday next, facing a team that's been very generous to opposing point guards all year.
Charlotte Hornets guard LaMelo Ball (rest) will remain in the starting five for Sunday's game against the Miami Heat. The young guard recently returned from injury, so there was some thought that he'd sit this one out to rest. Despite it being a back-to-back set, Ball will be out there. Fantasy managers should feel comfortable plugging Ball into their lineups on Sunday. It doesn't sound like he'll be limited, so expect him to carry his normal workload.
