Michael Porter Jr. Off Injury Report, Set to Face Nuggets

Brooklyn Nets small forward Michael Porter Jr. (illness) is good to go for their contest against the Denver Nuggets. Porter has missed the past two games with an illness, but is off the injury report and set to face his former team. In his first season with the Nets, Porter has had a career season, averaging a career-high 25.8 points per game, with 7.5 rebounds and 3.3 assists. The Nets' offense has struggled without their leading scorer, totaling under 100 points in both games Porter missed. With added motivation facing the team that traded him earlier this offseason, expect Porter to be a full-go and to have a significant share of the volume on Sunday.

Michael Porter Jr. Remains Sidelined on Friday

Brooklyn Nets forward Michael Porter Jr. (illness) will remain on the bench for Friday's game against the Washington Wizards. Porter will miss both legs of the back-to-back set due to a lingering illness. This comes at a bad time with Nicolas Claxton (personal) and Cam Thomas (rest) both sidelined as well. The Nets will likely use a committee approach to fill the void at the forward spot. This should mean that Ziaire Williams, Jalen Wilson, and Tyrese Martin should all get more playing time. Between the three, Williams offers the highest upside in terms of streaming value for Friday's slate. Terance Mann (hip) is also worth a look, but is currently listed as questionable for this game.

Michael Porter Jr. Out on Thursday

Brooklyn Nets forward Michael Porter Jr. (illness) won't play on Thursday against Houston. He had 27 points, nine rebounds, five assists, and three steals in Monday's 120-107 loss to the Golden State Warriors. Unfortunately, Porter popped up on the injury report because of an illness, so he'll miss his first game in nearly a month. With Egor Demin (back) also unavailable, Brooklyn may get more production from Noah Clowney, Danny Wolf, and Nicolas Claxton. Cam Thomas, who had been limited since returning from a hamstring injury, has the best chance of leading the team in scoring despite likely logging fewer minutes than usual.

Michael Porter Jr. Battling Illness, Questionable Thursday

Brooklyn Nets forward Michael Porter Jr. (illness) may miss the first game of 2026, as the team considers him questionable for Thursday's meeting with the Houston Rockets. He is battling an illness and may depart the lineup after posting at least 24 points in five consecutive games. Individually, it has been a great campaign for Porter Jr. in Brooklyn, as the former Nugget has notched a team-high 25.8 points per game, along with 7.5 rebounds and 3.3 assists. If Porter Jr. is unavailable, the remaining starters will have increased opportunities on offense. Overall, the Nets may have three new faces in the first unit on Thursday, with Egor Demin (back) ruled out and Terance Mann (hip) questionable.

Michael Porter Jr. Will Not Play Thursday

Brooklyn Nets forward Michael Porter Jr. (injury management) will not play on Thursday when the Nets host the Jazz to finish their back-to-back set of games. Porter played big minutes on Monday and Wednesday and had big games to help Brooklyn defeat the Hornets and Bulls. He finished Wednesday with 33 points, 10 boards, and five assists, after scoring 35 points on Monday. His absence will leave a huge usage void for the rest of the Nets' roster to step in and try to fill in this favorable matchup against the Jazz. Nic Claxton, Noah Clowney, Jalen Wilson, and Ziaire Williams are a few of the members of the frontcourt who should get a boost on Thursday while Porter gets the night off for lower back injury management. His next chance to return will be Saturday at home against the Pelicans.

Michael Porter Jr. Back in Action on Monday

Brooklyn Nets forward Michael Porter Jr. (back) will play on Monday night versus the Charlotte Hornets after missing the previous two contests due to lower back tightness. The former Nugget is having easily the best year of his career, averaging 24.3 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 3.0 assists. His shooting percentage from deep is at an all-time low. However, Porter has made up for it with his contributions in all statistical areas. With that in mind, Porter is a must-start in any fantasy setup, especially against one of the worst defensive clubs in the National Basketball Association. Ziaire Williams, who started in the last two games, may head back to the bench, although that may not happen, considering Terance Mann (rib) won't suit up.

Michael Porter Jr. Listed as Probable for Monday's Matchup

Brooklyn Nets forward Michael Porter Jr. (back) is on track to return from a two-game absence on Monday against the Charlotte Hornets, as the team considers him probable for the matchup. Porter Jr. has been dealing with a back issue, allowing Ziaire Williams to log a couple of starts. On Monday, Williams will drop back to the bench to make room in the first unit for Brooklyn's top scorer. Porter Jr. is averaging 24.3 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 3.0 assists for the season. He has been even more productive in his most recent outings, surpassing the 30-point plateau twice in five games.

Michael Porter Jr. Won't Play Friday Versus 76ers

Brooklyn Nets forward Michael Porter Jr. (back) has been ruled out for Friday's matchup with the 76ers, ending his appearance streak dating back to Nov. 3. His absence shifts more offensive weight onto Noah Clowney, who erupted for 31 points and has scored at least 22 points in two of his last three games. Tyrese Martin, Ziaire Williams, and Jalen Wilson also gain streaming appeal, though Clowney remains the clearest beneficiary with added usage and shot volume. Porter's next chance to return comes Saturday against Milwaukee.

Kevin Porter Jr. Won't Return on Wednesday Night

Milwaukee Bucks guard Kevin Porter Jr. (ankle) won't return to Wednesday's matchup with the Washington Wizards. The 25-year-old was on a roll to begin the contest. Unfortunately, he tweaked his ankle near the end of the first quarter and was ruled out for the remainder of the contest. Porter will officially finish this one with 10 points in nine minutes of action. There should be an update on his status soon. Until then, fantasy managers will be left wondering if he'll be able to suit up on Friday in Toronto. In the meantime, Cole Anthony could be in line for more minutes from off the bench.

Michael Porter Jr. Traded to Brooklyn

According to ESPN's Shams Charania, the Denver Nuggets are trading forward Michael Porter Jr. to the Brooklyn Nets in exchange for Cameron Johnson. Both players are in line to become unrestricted free agents in a few seasons. After years of trade rumors, it appears Denver is ready to move on from Porter, who hasn't played for any other club since entering the National Basketball Association in 2018. Injuries were an issue for the 27-year-old at the beginning of his career. Fortunately, he managed to suit up in 158 contests in the last two seasons. Porter is also coming off one of his best years, averaging 18.2 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 2.1 assists while shooting 39.5% from deep during the 2024 campaign. All things considered, the Nets are in rebuilding mode, although Porter could realistically be more productive than he was in Denver, considering he's no longer sharing the floor with Nikola Jokic.
