Zach Collins News
According to Jake Fischer of Yahoo.com, the Spurs will search for a center this offseason. With San Antonio holding the No. 1 pick in the 2023 NBA Draft and expected to select Victor Wembanyama, the team is concerned about the punishment he'll endure as a rookie against opposing big men. However, the Spurs view Zach Collins (finger) as a starting option, so he may continue to spend time in the middle. The 25-year-old, who recently underwent surgery to address an infection in his finger, averaged 11.6 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 2.9 assists in 63 games last season. Collins could return for another year, considering the Spurs have a team option. But if he stays, he may be more productive for fantasy managers than initially anticipated.
San Antonio Spurs forward/center Zach Collins (finger) is recovering from surgery after having a procedure done on April 8. A laceration on his left hand became infected after Collins suffered a cut on his finger in a game against Portland on April 6. The big man ended up missing the final two regular-season games because of the issue. Collins has finished his fifth season in the league. He averaged career numbers across the board, scoring 11.6 points per game and registering 6.4 rebounds with 2.9 assists. The 25-year-old was a reserve for most of the campaign and Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich has already said that the Gonzaga product will be his starting center in 2023-24, so fantasy managers have a lot of reasons to be excited about Collins next season.
San Antonio Spurs forwards Keldon Johnson (foot) and Zach Collins (finger) have both been ruled out for Tuesday's contest against the Phoenix Suns. The Spurs' tank is going full speed ahead as they've listed Collins with a "left fifth finger cut." If that doesn't scream tank job, then nothing does! Since they'll both be sidelined, Keita Bates-Diop, Julian Champagnie, and Sandro Mamukelashvili all could serve as streaming options in deeper leagues, but they wouldn't be recommended in many fantasy championship matchups.
San Antonio Spurs center Zach Collins (foot) won't play on Friday against the Warriors. The Spurs season is finished, so the 25-year-old will get a night off to rest his nagging left foot injury. As a result, Sandro Mamukelashvili will likely enter the starting lineup. He's averaged 13.3 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 1.0 steals in three starts this season, meaning he'll draw plenty of interest from DFS managers looking for a value opportunity.
