Ziaire Williams Fantasy Stats

Los Angeles Lakers forward Ziaire Williams (foot) will miss Tuesday's preseason game against the Golden State Warriors in Las Vegas, per Jovan Buha. Head coach JJ Redick said Williams remains day-to-day with a foot contusion. The 25-year-old hasn't played since starting the preseason opener, when he scored 13 points on 4-for-6 shooting and hit all three of his attempts from deep in 21 minutes. Williams is competing for one of Los Angeles' open starting spots, so Friday's finale against Denver could be important if he's cleared. Matisse Thybulle and Jake LaRavia remain in the mix for those wing minutes.

Los Angeles Lakers guard/forward Ziaire Williams believes he has a real chance to win the team's open starting spot, according to Ron Gutterman of LakersNation.com, who cited Williams' comments to Ryan Ward of Lakers On SI. Asked whether Jonathan Kuminga's move to Minnesota created a real opportunity in Los Angeles, Williams said, "Yeah, I do," though he added that the failed pursuit of Kuminga did not change his mindset. Luka Doncic, Austin Reaves, and Walker Kessler are expected to start when healthy, while Quentin Grimes appears likely to claim another spot, leaving Williams in a battle with Jake LaRavia, Jarred Vanderbilt, Matisse Thybulle, and Sandro Mamukelashvili. Williams averaged 10.2 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 1.4 steals in 22.9 minutes with Brooklyn last season, so the defensive role and steals upside are the clear fantasy hooks. He still needs JJ Redick to choose him before the watch-list case turns into draft-day value.

Los Angeles Lakers forward Ziaire Williams told the Southern California News Group that JJ Redick and Rob Pelinka have framed his role around being a "main defender, point-of-attack defender." The former No. 10 overall pick joined Los Angeles on a one-year, $3 million deal in July after averaging 10.2 points, 2.4 rebounds, 1.1 assists, and 1.4 steals in 22.9 minutes for Brooklyn last season. Williams expects to cut, space the floor, and run in transition around Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves, which points to a low-usage role. Quentin Grimes projects ahead of him, while Jake LaRavia, Jarred Vanderbilt, and Dalton Knecht crowd the wing and forward mix, leaving Williams as a steals-dependent fantasy flier unless his jumper holds.

Los Angeles Lakers guard/forward Ziaire Williams is soaking in his move home after signing with the team on a one-year deal. "Seeing my name on a Lakers jersey feels super surreal," Williams said in comments shared by Marc Jacobs, adding that he is excited to play in front of local fans and family. The Lancaster native and former Sierra Canyon standout reunites with Bronny James in Los Angeles, but the fantasy angle is still modest. Williams averaged a career-best 10.2 points with Brooklyn last season while adding 1.4 steals and 1.5 threes per game. His length and defensive activity could help the Lakers, though Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves leave him with a limited offensive role.

Free-agent forward Ziaire Williams has agreed to a one-year, $3 million deal with the Los Angeles Lakers, according to Shams Charania of ESPN. The 24-year-old spent last season with Brooklyn, averaging 10.2 points, 2.4 rebounds, 1.1 assists, and 1.4 steals in 22.9 minutes while shooting 42.5% from the field and 34.3% from three-point range. Williams gives Los Angeles another long wing, but his fantasy case is thin unless the shooting improvement sticks and he earns enough bench minutes to keep the steals coming.

The Brooklyn Nets will not pick up the $6.25 million team option for forward Ziaire Williams, according to HoopsHype's Michael Scotto. While he could still return to Brooklyn on a new deal, the 24-year-old is now set to test unrestricted free agency. Williams suited up for 56 games last season, providing 10.2 points and 1.4 steals in 22.9 minutes per contest. However, his inconsistent offensive repertoire keeps his fantasy ceiling relatively low. Should Williams sign elsewhere, Jalen Wilson and Josh Minott stand to gain traction in the frontcourt rotation next year.

Brooklyn Nets forward Ziaire Williams will shift back into the starting five ahead of Tuesday's game against the Charlotte Hornets. Williams is back in the rotation after sitting out Sunday's game due to a coach's decision. Williams will move back into the starting five with Terance Mann (Achilles) unavailable on Tuesday. Williams has scored 16 points or more in five straight games before getting benched on Sunday. When active, Williams is a decent streaming option and figures to play 20-plus minutes in the rotation without Mann available.

Brooklyn Nets forward Ziaire Williams (foot) is available to play ahead of Friday's game against the New York Knicks. Williams will shake off the questionable tag and suit up despite dealing with left foot soreness. The Nets are shorthanded right now, so Williams will likely be asked to play an expanded role. Over the last three games, Williams is averaging 7.0 points and 1.3 steals across 20.2 minutes per game. Williams isn't anything more than a low-end streaming option in deep leagues right now.

According to Erik Slater of ClutchPoints.com, Brooklyn Nets guard/forward Ziaire Williams (personal) will be available for Tuesday's matchup against the Dallas Mavericks. The 24-year-old missed the previous two contests due to a personal matter. Williams is averaging 9.5 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 1.2 steals in 22.9 minutes across 39 appearances this season. Even with his return, he is unlikely to carry meaningful fantasy appeal in most formats.

Brooklyn Nets guard/forward Ziaire Williams (conditioning) has been ruled out for Sunday's contest against the Chicago Bulls. The 24-year-old recently missed time due to illness and is now working on his conditioning to get back into game shape. Sunday's game will Mark Williams' sixth consecutive absence. Brooklyn will also be without Michael Porter Jr. (rest) and Drake Powell (knee) on Sunday, which should create more playing opportunities for Danny Wolf, Terance Mann, and Nolan Traore.
