Bronny James Jr. Scores 17 Points in Summer League Loss

Los Angeles Lakers guard Bronny James Jr. collected 17 points, five rebounds, and five assists across 24 minutes in a 67-58 Summer League loss to the Clippers on Monday. James knocked down 6-of-10 field goal attempts and shot 3-for-6 from three-point land, leading the Lakers in scoring. In the last two games, the 20-year-old is shooting 52.4 percent from the field. Last season, James averaged 2.3 points, 0.7 rebounds, and 0.8 assists across 6.7 minutes per game in 27 contests. If he continues to impress the Lakers' coaching staff, he could possibly see an expanded role during the 2025-26 campaign.

Bronny James Jr. Scores 10 Points

Los Angeles Lakers guard Bronny James Jr. didn't play a ton, but made a decent impact during Sunday's summer league matchup against the Miami Heat. He knocked down 3-of-7 field goal attempts for 10 points with two rebounds, and two three-pointers in the win. James is hopeful to earn a bigger role in the rotation this upcoming season. Last season, James averaged 2.3 points, 0.7 rebounds, and 0.8 assists across 6.7 minutes per game in 27 contests. Hopefully, James will be able to step up and perform at a more consistent level in year two with the Lakers.

Bronny James Jr. May Have Regular Role with Lakers Next Season

Los Angeles Lakers guard Bronny James Jr. could be part of the regular rotation with the team next season. The 20-year-old was very little involved during his rookie campaign, playing a total of 181 minutes across 27 games and averaging 2.3 points. However, it looks like we may see a lot more of him in 2025-26. "He's 20 years old," a Western Conference executive told Sean Deveney of Athlon Sports. "He had a whole year where his development was thrown all out of whack. But he can defend the perimeter and he showed he can shoot the 3. If he can show that wasn't a fluke, he is going to start getting 10, 15 minutes a night because the team is going to feel like they can trust him. I think he is going to do all that. He is going to be a regular for them next year." Even if James carves out a regular role for himself next season, he is unlikely to make a significant impact in fantasy basketball.

Bronny James Jr. Removed From The Injury Report Friday

Los Angeles Lakers guard Bronny James Jr. is no longer on the injury report heading into the Friday night matchup with the Brooklyn Nets. With a bit of the frontcourt ruled out due to various reasons, James may have the opportunity to get some minutes against a Nets team that failed to score 70 points against the Clippers just a couple of nights ago. He's not a recommended fantasy option right now, but he could take some minutes away from some of the bench guys like Gabe Vincent.

Bronny James Jr. Questionable On Wednesday

Los Angeles Lakers guard Bronny James Jr. (illness) has been tagged as questionable for Wednesday night's contest against the Miami Heat. The 20-year-old has appeared in nine games in limited action while also spending some time in the G League. While in the G League, James has been averaging 13.4 points, 3.4 rebounds, 3.9 assists, and 1.1 steals per game and is shooting 36.6% from the field. James had recently returned to the court after dealing with a heel injury back in November. Even if James can give it a go, he will likely not see too much playing time.

Bronny James Jr. Listed As Doubtful Versus Jazz

Los Angeles Lakers guard Bronny James Jr. (heel) is on the injury report as doubtful ahead of Tuesday's game against Utah. James last saw NBA action on Nov. 10 versus Toronto, and it looks like he will have to sit out this one due to a bruised heel. In five NBA appearances, James has scored four total points in 16 minutes. He's logged a lot more action in the G League, averaging 28.5 minutes across two outings. Shooting woes have limited him to 5.0 points per game, while James has notched 2.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.0 steals, and 1.0 blocks in the G League.

Bronny James Helps Lakers To Victory With 12-Point Effort

Los Angeles Lakers guard Bronny James got going offensively with 12 points on 5-for-11 shooting and helped the team to its first Summer League win on Wednesday against Atlanta. After finishing 0-for-15 from deep in his first four Summer League outings, James shot 2-for-5 from three-point range. He also registered one rebound and one steal in an 87-86 win. It's been a rough ride for James in the Summer League, but Wednesday's performance should give him a confidence boost ahead of the final stretch of Summer League action. He's averaged 5.8 points, 3.2 rebounds, 1.2 assists, and 1.2 steals in 25.2 minutes.

Bronny James Struggles On Friday Night

Los Angeles Lakers guard Bronny James finished with eight points, five rebounds, and two steals in Friday's Summer League loss to the Houston Rockets. The 19-year-old had another uneventful showing offensively, going 3-for-14 from the field and 0-for-8 from deep. He also had three turnovers. Despite James' offensive struggles, he has shown promise defensively. However, it's evident the 2024 No. 55 overall pick has some work to do, although he will likely get some shots to fall at some point during his time in Vegas.

Bronny James Dealing With An Injury

Los Angeles Lakers guard Bronny James (knee) didn't suit up for Sunday's California Classic Summer League loss to the Golden State Warriors. The 19-year-old, drafted No. 55 overall in the 2024 NBA Draft, made his unofficial NBA debut on Saturday versus Sacramento. However, he struggled, scoring just four points while shooting 2-for-9 from the field. Fortunately, James is only dealing with "trace swelling" in his left knee, so he was held out for precautionary reasons. He's expected to return to the lineup for the Lakers California Classic finale against the Miami Heat.

Bronny James Likely To Spend Time In The G-League

According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, Los Angeles Lakers guard Bronny James is expected to spend most of the 2024-25 campaign in the G League. "What the Lakers' expectations are is that he'll largely be a G League player, like almost any 19-year-old player coming into the league drafted in the second round," said Wojnarowski. "There's no expectation Bronny James is going to be in the Lakers' rotation." There were reports that James would be inserted into the rotation right away. However, he didn't gain much experience at the collegiate level. In addition, the 2024 No. 55 overall pick suffered a cardiac arrest nearly a year ago, which delayed his development. With that in mind, James is worth stashing in dynasty formats, even though he may be at least a few years away from doing anything meaningful for fantasy managers.
