Bills Work Out Adam Shaheen

While dealing with injuries at the position, the Buffalo Bills worked out former Chicago Bears tight end Adam Shaheen on Monday. Dawson Knox (wrist) is currently on Injured Reserve and will miss at least three more games. Shaheen was with the Miami Dolphins last year, but he didn't play at all due to a knee injury that landed him on Injured Reserve. The 29-year-old former second-round pick by the Chicago Bears hasn't played in an NFL since 2021, when he had 12 receptions on 16 targets for 110 yards and no touchdowns in 12 games (seven starts). Shaheen will remain well off the fantasy radar, even if he's signed by Buffalo. Rookie Dalton Kincaid had a big game in last Thursday night's win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and will have TE1 upside moving forward with Knox on the shelf.

Adam Shaheen Placed On Injured Reserve

The Miami Dolphins placed tight end Adam Shaheen (undisclosed), who didn't pass his physical to complete a trade to the Houston Texans last week, on Injured Reserve on Tuesday. Shaheen will miss the entire 2022 season and is scheduled to become a free agent next March. The 27-year-old former second-rounder caught 12 passes for 110 yards and no touchdowns on 16 targets in 12 games (seven starts) in 2021 in his second season in Miami. Mike Gesicki will be the team's top pass-catching tight end, with Durham Smythe, Hunter Long and Cethan Carter providing depth behind him. Shaheen wasn't really on the fantasy radar to begin with entering the 2022 season.

Adam Shaheen Fails Physical Assessment

The Houston Texans have issued a failed physical designation to tight end Adam Shaheen. He was recently acquired with a seventh-round pick in exchange for a sixth-round pick from the Miami Dolphins. That trade has now been voided and Shaheen will head back to the Dolphins roster. After this, it would be surprising to see Shaheen actually make the Dolphins final roster. Possibly, Shaheen can bounce back elsewhere, but he can remain off the fantasy radar for now.

Texans Acquire Adam Shaheen From Dolphins

The Houston Texans acquired tight end Adam Shaheen and a seventh-round pick in 2023 from the Miami Dolphins on Tuesday in exchange for a sixth-round pick in next year's draft. The Dolphins already have Mike Gesicki locked in as their starting tight end, with Durham Smythe, Hunter Long and Cethan Carter providing depth behind him, so Shaheen was expendable after catching 12 of 16 targets for only 110 scoreless yards in 12 games (seven starts) in 2021. Shaheen will now join a tight end group in Houston that already has Pharaoh Brown and Brevin Jordan. Jordan is expected to be the primary pass-catching option at the position, so Shaheen should remain well off the fantasy radar entering the 2022 campaign.

Adam Shaheen Inactive For Week 15

Miami Dolphins tight end Adam Shaheen (knee) is officially inactive for Week 15 against the New York Jets after coming into the game listed as questionable. With Mike Gesicki ahead of him on the tight end depth chart in Miami, Shaheen hasn't been relevant at all in fantasy. He's caught just 12 passes all year on 16 targets for 110 yards and no touchdowns in nine games played. But with Shaheen out of the mix on Sunday, it should open up more snaps for Durham Smythe and rookie Hunter Long behind Gesicki. In a great matchup against the Jets, Gesicki has the potential to be a top-10 fantasy tight end when all is said and done in Week 15.

Adam Shaheen Has Questionable Tag For Week 15

Miami Dolphins tight end Adam Shaheen (knee) was limited in practice all week and is questionable to face the New York Jets on Sunday. Shaheen has missed the last two games with his knee injury, but the fact that he practiced all week bodes well for his chances of returning in Week 15. If the 27-year-old misses his third straight game, it'll open up more playing time for Hunter Long behind starter Mike Gesicki. Shaheen hasn't been a fantasy asset all season long with just 12 catches on 16 targets for 110 yards in nine games played. That will continue to be the case for the rest of the season unless Gesicki misses time with an injury.

Phillip Lindsay, Adam Shaheen Doubtful To Face Giants

Miami Dolphins running back Phillip Lindsay (ankle) and tight end Adam Shaheen (knee) were both listed as doubtful to play in Week 13 against the New York Giants. Lindsay had two limited practices with a DNP mixed in on Thursday, while Shaheen was limited all week. Lindsay had a surprising season-high 12 carries for 42 yards in his Dolphins debut last week, but he'll likely step aside and let Salvon Ahmed resume his duties as a change-of-pace back behind starter Myles Gaskin this weekend. Even with Lindsay likely out, Ahmed isn't an inspiring fantasy option. Shaheen's likely absence in Week 13 will mean a few more looks for starting TE Mike Gesicki, while Durham Smythe will once again see more playing time.

Phillip Lindsay, Adam Shaheen Limited Wednesday

Miami Dolphins running back Phillip Lindsay (ankle) and tight end Adam Shaheen (knee) were limited in Wednesday's practice. Lindsay played 15 offensive snaps in his team debut in Week 12 and carried the ball 12 times for 42 yards behind Myles Gaskin. Lindsay's addition is obviously bad news for Salvon Ahmed's rest-of-season outlook, but Lindsay won't have much standalone fantasy value in this offense as the No. 2 running back. Shaheen missed last week's win over the Carolina Panthers but is on track to return in Week 13 against the New York Giants. But as the No. 2 behind Mike Gesicki when healthy, Shaheen has no fantasy value. He's caught 12 of 16 targets for 110 scoreless yards in nine games in 2021.

Adam Shaheen Ruled Out Against The Panthers

Miami Dolphins tight end Adam Shaheen (knee) missed practice all week and has been ruled out for the Week 12 game against the Carolina Panthers. Shaheen hasn't done much this year in fantasy behind Mike Gesicki, as he's caught 12 of 16 targets for 110 yards and no touchdowns in nine games for the Dolphins. With Shaheen out this weekend, Durham Smythe and Cethan Carter could see the field more to spell Gesicki. The Panthers defense hasn't allowed a ton of production to opposing tight ends this year as one of the better pass defenses in the NFL, but Gesicki should still be considered at least a midrange TE1 at the weakest position in fantasy. Gesicki put up a donut in Week 10 but rebounded with five catches for 50 yards on six targets in Week 11.

Adam Shaheen Misses Practice Wednesday

Miami Dolphins tight end Adam Shaheen (knee) wasn't able to get on the practice field on Wednesday. Shaheen suffered the injury in the Week 11 win over the New York Jets. He'll need to get back on the practice field on either Thursday or Friday if he hopes to play in Week 12 against the Carolina Panthers. Shaheen hasn't been fantasy relevant at all this year while playing behind Mike Gesicki. The 27-year-old has caught 12 of his 16 targets for 110 scoreless yards in nine games played. If Shaheen's injury is serious enough to keep him out of action this Sunday, Durham Smythe could see some more playing time behind Gesicki.
