Anthony Brown Joins 49ers Active Roster

Veteran cornerback Anthony Brown was signed to the San Francisco 49ers' active roster on Tuesday. Brown was released from the Pittsburgh Steelers' practice squad on September 14, so he quickly found a new home. The 29-year-old defensive back suffered a torn Achilles in Week 13 of last season with the Dallas Cowboys but looks to make an impact for the 49ers in short order. Brown posted nine interceptions and 59 passes defended in 94 games for Dallas after being selected in the sixth round of the 2016 NFL Draft.

Anthony Brown Has Rough Outing In Preseason Finale

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Anthony Brown still had a battle for the third-string spot behind Tyler Huntley and his case didn't get much better on Saturday. The 25-year-old completed 12 of his 21 throws for 171 yards and was sacked four times while losing a fumble. His competition, Josh Johnson, also coughed up the ball, but the Ravens recovered it. However, Johnson also threw a touchdown and completed six of his nine passes. Now, Brown is on the roster bubble and could be looking for a new team soon.

Tyler Huntley To Start, But Anthony Brown Could Play

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Tyler Huntley (shoulder) is expected to start in Sunday night's wild-card game against the Cincinnati Bengals after he made good progress this week while working through his right shoulder injury. However, it is a "possibility" that the Ravens use both Huntley and rookie Anthony Brown under center against the Bengals. Starter Lamar Jackson (knee) remains out with a Grade 2 PCL sprain, so Huntley will make his fifth start of the season despite battling shoulder tendinitis and a wrist injury. In his five games, Huntley has completed 67 percent of his passes and also has 43 rushing attempts. Using both Huntley and Brown could present a challenge for Cincy's defense. Without much to work with in the passing game, fantasy managers should be looking to avoid Huntley for their starting lineups in playoff leagues.

Anthony Brown Throws Two Interceptions In First Career Start

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Anthony Brown threw for 286 yards and two interceptions while completing 19 of his 44 attempts. This was the rookie third-string quarterback's first career start as both Lamar Jackson (knee) and Tyler Huntley (shoulder) were unable to suit up. His accuracy and decision-making need some work, but he was also thrown in without a lot of the starters on offense. The Ravens will now set their sights on getting Jackson healthy enough to play the Bengals again in the wild card round of the playoffs.

Tyler Huntley Inactive, Anthony Brown To Start In Week 18

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Tyler Huntley (shoulder, wrist) is officially inactive for the Week 18 regular season finale against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday. With Lamar Jackson (knee) still missing as well, rookie Anthony Brown will make his first career start. With the Ravens unable to win the AFC North division with a win over Cincy now, they have elected to rest Huntley another week in case Jackson is unable to return for the first round of the playoffs next weekend. Brown played in relief of a concussed Huntley in Week 14 against the Pittsburgh Steelers and went 3-for-5 for 16 yards and was sacked once. He shouldn't be started in any fantasy lineups, and it would be smart to avoid the Ravens offense altogether in Week 18.

Anthony Brown Will Start In Week 15 If Needed

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Anthony Brown will start in Week 15 against the Browns, if necessary, according to head coach John Harbaugh. Lamar Jackson (knee) is unlikely to return for a few weeks, so Tyler Huntley (head) was under center during Sunday's narrow win over Pittsburgh. However, with Huntley exiting for a concussion evaluation, Brown took over for the rest of the game, connecting on three of his five throws for 16 yards and three carries for negative yardage. Fantasy managers should monitor Huntley's condition throughout the week. Yet, if he can't go, Brown may have his hands full versus a Cleveland defense looking to bounce back from the loss to Cincinnati. Considering the rookie didn't play his first professional snap until Week 14, he's not a recommended fantasy option.

Tyler Huntley Injured Sunday, Replaced By Anthony Brown

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Tyler Huntley exited Sunday's game after being hit hard by a group of Pittsburgh Steelers defenders. He is being evaluated for a concussion and is officially questionable to return. Huntley totaled eight completions, 88 passing yards, 38 rushing yards, and one sack before departing. He had been playing in place of Lamar Jackson (knee), so now Baltimore will have to turn to its third-string quarterback, Anthony Brown. An undrafted rookie out of Oregon, Brown was signed to the active roster this past week and has never played an NFL snap.

Anthony Brown Done For The Season

Dallas Cowboys cornerback Anthony Brown (Achilles) suffered a torn left Achilles in Sunday night's win over the Indianapolis Colts and is out for the rest of the season, according to owner Jerry Jones. The season-ending injury was confirmed after tests on Monday. The 28-year-old will finish his seventh season for the Cowboys with 42 tackles (33 solo), seven passes defensed and a forced fumble in 12 starts. Kelvin Joseph will be the first man up to replace Brown in a starting role opposite Trevon Diggs for the Cowboys. It's a very notable loss for Dallas' secondary the rest of the way.

Anthony Brown Solid Against Commanders

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Anthony Brown capped off the preseason with a fantastic performance, finishing with 256 yards and a touchdown off 15-for-19 passing during the narrow win over Washington. He also added three carries for eight yards. The rookie played well throughout August and ended the preseason as the team's top signal-caller. That said, he'll likely remain nestled behind Tyler Huntley and Lamar Jackson on the depth chart, so fantasy managers shouldn't look in his direction during drafts. However, Brown has minimal dynasty upside for those with stashing room, although it may take him a few years to get any meaningful work.

Anthony Brown Tosses Two Touchdowns Against The Cards

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Anthony Brown finished with 91 yards off 10-for-13 passing during the preseason win over Arizona. Although the undrafted rookie threw an interception on Sunday night, he made up for it by tossing two touchdowns in the second half. Nevertheless, head coach John Harbaugh likes what he's seen from the 24-year-old. However, it's unlikely Brown will receive routine work in the regular season as long as Tyler Huntley remains the No. 2 option behind Lamar Jackson. Unless that changes, the Oregon alum has no value in any format, including dynasty.
